- We are back from Hawaii and back to starting vanlife! We have been enjoying our time near the ocean and we are not quite ready to leave it... so we find the perfect campground where we can camp right next to the Pacific Ocean. We are able to sleep with our windows open and listen to the waves crash all night long... yeah we can get used to this!

My gosh that is my old stomping grounds!!!! I grew up in Escondido n would go to that beach all the time. We camped many a night at that campground. I miss the smell of the ice plant that covered the hill sides. Have ton o fun
Hey 👋🏾 move to Cali. I lived here all my 62 years and it is absolutely beautiful. You’ll be near your son and DIL. Yes it is a little expensive but so is every where else. Your other children would love to visit you in this beautiful state.

I recognized the campground right away before even reading the title. As a kid I camped at South Carlsbad Beach every summer.

I love the campsite for sure. I also love the way the two of you interact. We have been married 46 years and I can tell you that we have lasted this long and we still “ like” each other and of course we love each other . We don’t sweat the small stuff and our friendship means the world. I get that same sense from you guys. Thanks for another great video.

Oh how fun! I love all of your content, but definitely excited to see you back in the van! At first, it blew my mind that you guys went smaller compared to the Gemini, but I get it! I'm very interested to hear what you guys think of the van over time. I have a pull-behind trailer that we use on our weekend trips and I love it, but I am interested in possibly getting a van in the future for easier traveling on road trips and whatnot! Y'all should definitely do a like 6 month or year review whenever it comes time!

You need to go some time when you can go in the ocean. It rarely gets over 72 F, but Alisa needs to experience some waves that are real waves ! Snorkeling in the kelp beds is interesting, but you would best do it with a pro. I have spent from 3 days to 3 months every year except 2 in Carlsbad since 1961.

North Pismo state beach is awesome and a little further up the coast is Olema Camp Ground near point Reyes Station. From there head up to the KOA in Manchester. Such a beautiful drive. These are our favorites along the coast. We will be in Manchester in Sept for our last trip of the year!

Every free night I’ve spent camped in a vehicle by the ocean, I consider a $200 value because that’s what the hotels and resorts are asking lol. At the least!!

The coastline of California is very close to what you get this side of the Pacific Ocean in Australia but we have Golden sand which is soft and smooth and the occasional bug in our tropical waters of the North East Coast that can cause discomfort. I do hope you can drop in sometime and cruise the South Pacific because if you loved the view from California you will love it from anywhere on the Coastline of Australia.
We hope to be able to visit one day!

Need to drive up Hwy 1 to Bodega Bay, beautiful up here, no swimming tho due to sneaker waves and undertow. No fastfood restaurants allowed, just home cooked seafood for the most part. Skip Lucas Wharf and The Tides (in The Birds movie) but do get their excellent smoked salmon there.
Oh we love original restaurants, they are the best!
You need to go to Dukes in Malibu. Great over ocean restaurant.

Where did you get the multicolored led lights? They would be perfect for my class B a Winnebago Solis PX.
They are from Amazon. Love that they are battery powered so we didn’t have to run them to a plug. We used gorilla putty to mount the battery box in a hidden spot.

I haven’t actually added everything up since it was paid for at different times with the cruise, airfare and what we spent there. But it was a bit… but we treated the kids too.
Looks like a wonderful life, but I have to say my first thought is security.. I could not sleep like that. I have watched way to much true crime.
It is a secure state park so we felt safe doing it here.
