@@PrairieTrading I sure will. Another thing they did after letting the caulk set up for about 20 minutes, was after removing the painter's tape, they sprayed it with soapy water and smoothed down the little ridge left by the tape with wet soapy fingers.
There are a few things you should never do on your own if you don’t know what you’re doing, because of the damage you can cause. 2 of them are electrical work and any kind of waterproofing. This is so bad that strips of duct tape would be better. This is “oh shit a storm is coming in 10 minutes and my window leaks, I’ll tear it all out and fix it right after the storm“ kind of work.
Should have removed the old caulking first, the goal is to get the caulk into the opening, or the crack if you prefer. don't just run a bead on top of the crack, that's not caulking.
Thank you for the comment. The window that I was working on is the four feet by four feet picture window in my living room. It would be a huge project to take the window out and glaze it, that is why I caulked it.

git better first
will this help with the draft in the glass/trim?
I think when I do mine I'll put painters tape on window so it'll have a sharp line after caulk is smoothed out.
That sounds like a good idea. Please let me know how it works out.

@@bobbyb7127 I have never heard of that before though it sounds like it would create a nice finish. I hope your project goes well!
