Moderator Amy here. Yes nail strips/wraps rock! I’ve been testing a lot of them lately, because life is temporarily taking me away from the dipping, that I love so much. I’ve tried all the top brands and Colour Flash is my favorite. (Marla, you are correct. The Evil Elves sent you Dashing Diva.). In my opinion, the Colour Flash strips last the longest. They have sophisticated designs and are constantly adding new ones. I don’t put a top coat on them and they last until I peel them off. Easily over a week, if you want them to. Yes, peel off! BUT, I put them on over builder gel, so I am not doing any damage to my natural nails by peeling them off. Colour Flash are easily peelable because they are thicker than many other strips. Many of the others are removable with regular nail polish remover. Okay, I’ll stop now. 😁 Marla, this set is gorgeous! Loooove!!
Im going to have to look this company up. The design is gorgeous and OMG I use builder gel and sometimes dont have time to dip and the idea that I can do this over BG is freaking amazeballs!!!
This is great! I have used nail strips over dip powder but encapsulated in clear because I had no idea you could use the activator directly on them. Thanks for teaching us all your helpful hints! Joei Brock
OMG! Next time I travel taking some for when they need a fill! File down cuticle use a bit of gel base & activate then use these on top!! Of course follow with gel base & top coat!! Thankfully I bought the igel mini lamp!!
I am somewhat new to dip, used my practice hand to get it down. Today I just put pink sparkle dip on my real nails and I love it! I hope removal is just as easy.❤️
Like the geode looking strips you chose to work with. I never really thought about using strips OVER an enhancement like dip or gel. Another game changer for so many. Thanks, Marla. And you now are bilingual - you speak English and Marla-English. My mom speaks Lisa-English. LOL. We all get tongue-tied, but love the way you keep it in your videos and poke fun at yourself. We all need to laugh at ourselves more.
so pretty and looks so easy to do. Thank you and your mods for always looking out for the mani fam and finding new and interesting ways to do manis! We appreciate you!
It’s like you read my mind! I’ve been looking for videos on how to incorporate nail wraps with dip but I couldn’t find any good ones. Beautiful mani as always 😍
Ahh, nice! I have never put activator on top. Have to try that. I usually just wait a while and then UV cure w/ shellac. Also, good tip securing the cuticle and free edge w/ a little acetone. Funny I've never thought of that. Thanks!
This is exactly what I was looking for and I knew you would have a video on it too :) Thank you! Which brush are you using to apply the acetone along the edges?
Hey Marla! I really enjoyed this video! I have quite a few of these in my supplies but just wasn't sure how to incorporate them into my dip routine. Great job! Thank you! 🍯🐝❤
Perfect timing! I'm doing my mani for my girls weekend, starting on Thursday, lol! I was planning to incorporate my nail wraps and now I feel more confident going into it!🥰
You totally could. But I played it fast and loose lol I wasted to see if after a week, I could peel the polish wrap off. And it worked! And the activator didn’t hurt the Polish at all!
LOVE IT! No buy July will be flat broke August!😂! I was making squirrel dinner when you said SQUIRREL! Made me snort!😂🤣😂🤣.Dinner for squirrels not of squirrels.😁
I am so excited for this!! I’ve been wondering for a long time if you can use polish strips with dip. I figured you could but have yet to try it. I have a ton of Color Street nail strips I collected before I started dipping and need to use them. So thank you, Marla, for showing me how!! 🤗❤️
Omg this is so freaking awesome!!! Love this idea so much. I have alot of water decals but oh wow this is a game changer especially for different art ideas and they are so shiney. So how long did they last and the activator didnt eat the paint up at all! Im just in awe in how beautiful the design is😍😍 Thank you.so much for making a video on this and thank you to your friend for the brilliant idea!!!!

So beautiful and exciting to try new art! Could you activate before polish wrap or is there an advantage to doing it after wrap? I'm always grateful for your videos
Omg I want them all!!!! I'm gonna hold off until you report back with how long they lasted and durability though , then will take out the 2nd mortgage 😆
I used to sell Jamberry nail wraps and I have a ton but I found you because I wanted to see if I could put nail dip over Jamberry wraps. I can’t tell what step you did the activator but do you think it would work with the vinyl wraps? I have some other brand that are actual nail polish strips that I can try but again, I got confused about which step the activator is. It looked like you out it over the nail strip but as I was going through the comments, you mentioned it went on before. Can you verify this for me? Thanks! I’m so glad I found your channel.
Oh I love this so much! I used wraps last year for a Halloween mani but I need to get some year round designs lol they definitely help put a mani together if you don’t want to do nail art. I’m not the best at art 😂
Definitely put the wrap on before top coat. You can use the gel top right over the wrap but I would recommend maybe gel base first and then top to prevent peeling
Soooooo pretty!!!!! I’m wondering because one of my coworkers sells Color Street... I have heard that once you open the package they dry out and the rest are unusable? Has anyone heard that, or how to have the remainder wraps be useable? This mani is BEAUTIFUL, Marla!
My friend sells them too and I use them on my toes and LOVE it!! U can totally save the rest! My friend said to take out the sizes you're using, leave the rest in their sleeve, put them in a ziplock bag and take all the air out then stick them in the freezer! I have a few sets in my freezer lol when ready to use just thaw them out about 30mins I'm guessing, but I have so many I haven't reused any yet lmao
I tried this with Lilly and Fox nail strips and it did not work out like yours did. I wont get into reviewing the nail strips but after they were all on I used a little activator from Double Dipp’d. Everything still looked ok till I put the top coat on. Then the whole mani just bubbled up and looked awful. I was able to use an orange stick and peel the strips off back to the dip layer. I am going to try it with another companies nail strips. Just a heads up the dip top did not work with Lilly and Fox nail strips
Thank you for sharing this. I just bought a whole bunch of geode looking nail strips from lily and fox bc I couldn’t find these ones on the colour flash website. Dang it! Hopefully I can find a way to still make it work. 🤓
I was looking for something to give them strength cause I'm rough on my nails somehow and I discovered dip powder nails. It was easier then I thought but my only complaint is the dip base drys super fast and is runny can you recommend a inexpensive dip liquid set for a beginner thats doesn't dry so quick and run
So with dip base, the easiest way I’ve found to slow down dry time is to apply a coat of base to the nail alone first, let that dry, then apply base again and dip! That first coat slows down the dry speed. Less is more sometimes with base - don’t over apply and you’re less likely to have it run or flood! If you wanna try a slow drying base, check out dipalicious or Mani Boss.
It’s such a personal preference. Everyone likes something different. I love sparkle and co liquids.. but you may want to start with something that’s slower drying like virgo and gem or mani boss. The key with those is to apply them sparingly. Super thin.. so you don’t flood your cuticles

Yep! I would use a primer and then gel top over these.
Gorgeous! Have a great day!
Thanks so much, girl! You too!!
Why did you use activator and wipe it off and then top coat ?
I wipe it off so I don’t contaminate much too coat brush. Activator can harden it and make it unusable
No I mean why are you using the activator on the polish strip ?
@@kimmom7785 ahhh.. apologies.
Dip top requires activator to cure.. used the top to seal it in so it doesn’t peel.
