    Hi there! Great video, it’s really helpful! But I saw u said that u need to cut the outside of the cake off. In other videos they’ve used it in it, is it crucial that you take it out? I’m just wondering because if it’ll make my cake pop bad I won’t include it. Thanks! ❤️

    • @SimplyHomeCooked
      @SimplyHomeCooked  5 років тому

      For this specific recipe, there isn't a ton of frosting since the cake is moist enough from leaving out the crumbs. I think its easier to work with and less likely to fall apart when the outside of the cake is left out. I hope that helps answer your question.

    Also, when we put the cake popsicle in the freezer before dipping into the chocolate, won't the popsicle start to crack when inserted into the chocolate?

    • @SimplyHomeCooked

      Hi, these red velvet cake pops can last up to 1 week in an airtight container.
      You only want to put them in the freezer for a short period of time to help firm them up a bit (under 15 minutes). I have never had them crack on me when doing it this way.
      Hope this helps :)

If you want to make the inside green, I recommend you follow my vanilla cake pop recipe but add green food coloring to the cake batter before its baked. If you only want to have the outside of the cake pops green, all you need to do it use green candy melts and perhaps add a little yellow food coloring after its melted to make it more of an olive color. I hope this helps!

      You don't have to use them. You can also thin the candy coating out with coconut oil.

    I love cake pops but the candy melts are not good. They ruin the text. They need to make chocolate and baking chocolate bark/chips more candy coating friendly.
