i've been using a similar setup, just with lex instead of the elven fencer. But when placed on the backline it provides similar ranged cover, and it snags wyverns and wizards' column hits with provoke. They deadass waste column attacks on a backline character, which helps protect whoever is behind the swordmaster

wait but what stat growths do you use, i've only seen people recommending Offensive x 2 on Swordmasters

I just use whatever they come with. I feel like you could argue a use for any stat combo except for accuracy.
