@@tronovonflidder775 agreed. There would be no ladder match if it wasn't for Bret Hart coming up with the idea. He even had the first ladder match with Shawn in 1992.
So basically Randy Savage was the anti-Hulk Hogan, doing what's best for the business and looking out for others not just himself, and actually capable of a great match. If he was alive today, he'd probably be one of the most celebrated superstars of all time with Michaels and Flair.
We don't have confirmation about that, but also what does that have to do with anything? If we're going to start pointing to the personal lives of pro wrestlers, most of them, especially from that era aren't people you'd want to emulate. But in terms of ability to perform in the ring and understand how the business is built on mutual cooperation between everyone involved, yeah Savage is a lot better than Hogan.
Savage even said as early as 1993 that he would have put HBK and Bret over instead of doing commentary but Vince said no. What a guy and FUUUUUUCK YOOOOOUUU Vince!
Actually according to Harts book it was the boys in the locker room who rebelled against Vince's decision to have Lex win the belt and Randy Savage was the one leading the charge for him to win.
Yokozuna wrestled twice in this event and for a massive size like he was that is amazing to me.... R.I.P Yokozuna he moved so well for a big guy aswell.....
JAMES Christiansen I'm not sure I feel good now thinking about it, we're kinda ragging on a what is essentially a "Total Cripple", which essentially makes me seem a bit Trumpish,
Damn right Bret is the face of the new generation, which led into the attitude era. Bret Hart people! Bret Hart is the key to the start of the attitude era. He was there longer than Taker at the time. So in order for the company to really change the man on top of the mountain had too as well. Best there is, best there was, and the best there ever will be! Nice to know Macho cares about younger talent, unlike the Pukester.
6:50 Kinda wish they did this at WM 35 when Kofi won. But the way the New Day and his kids celebrated was really great anyway. I'll never forget that moment.
To me, what made the closing sequence more memorable was Owen standing in the aisle after Bret's win. Owen had beaten Bret earlier in the night, but had to stand there and watch as his brother was hoisted up in triumph as the new WWF champion. It was a real big "Fuck You" to Owen that led to some amazing TV and an awesome SummerSlam cage match.
happensq1 Reigns has actually been improving a lot, people are still blinded by hate towards his poor booking,.. Im excited for this ultimate heel turn against Taker
How can you compare them? You know nothing. It was such a different era. The marks actually LOVED Luger. He was getting that U-S-A heat everywhere he went. He didn't draw flies but nobody actually did because the WWF was in a downturn. Luger didn't get the belt at WM10 because Hart got a bigger face reaction at the Royal Rumble. They teased both guys winning it and Hart got the bigger pop. Pretty simple, really. The negative backlash against Reigns is engineered by social media. It's just cool to boo him no matter what he does. If they actually turn him heel, the mutants will start cheering him just because. And as long as they're still subscribing to the network, Vince McMahon truly and honestly doesn't give a shit what you do.
Another fact: The ladder in the HBK v Razor was the ONLY ladder available for theb match. Scott Hall claims that WWF only had one ladder to use for the match and that there was no Plan B in case the ladder was broken.
Even in WWF, they built a great narcissist gimmick for Lex Luger, man of steel, with great physique and metal plated forearm. And even USA fan favourite after he slammed Yoko. Loved both his characters in WWF.
Outside of a cage match here and there, gimmick matches were rare before the success of the ladder match. Add in the MSG curtain call, the nWo, and DX, one could argue that HBK v Razor is THE defining match of the 90s.
I have been watching there mania videos all are fantastic but this one was my most favorite. God bless you guys. sad you will only make 33 videos. I can see a 100 mania videos and won't get bored. can't wait to see more mania videos :&)
Part of the WrestleMania X card was practiced and played out on House Shows prior to the event. A month before the show I went to a House Show at the Cow Palace that featured the 10 man Tag that never happened on Mania, the Last Man Standing between Savage & Crush, as well as Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon in a ladder match, but with only 1 title belt hanging above the ring. The last 2 matches played out much the same as they did at Mania.
Yea they shoulda just put the damn strap on him at Summerslam after that whole Lex Express thing and if they didnt like it just have Bret beat Luger. Was never a fan of that whole countout deal and I believed Lex should have at least had a small run after all that hype.

This video is awesome. I remember watching Wrestlemania 10 when I was a kid. I remember being incredibly confused as to why Ludvig Borga wasn't wrestling. Now I know. LOL
One of my favorite WrestleMania events along with VII and VIII. Even I hated WMIX because of the hokey Hogan winning the title angle. It's too bad that Bobby Heenan had left WWF three months prior as I would have liked to have heard him do color instead of Lawler.
I know this is 9 months old and all, but the irony of Macho being pissed at Shawn and Hall for going too long for their brilliant match mirrored his own encounter with Steamboat at WM3, as he was berated backstage after their encounter for “trying to show everyone up/going too long”.
If I remember correctly, WWF's plan was for Undertaker to beat Yokozuna in the casket match at Royal Rumble, drop the belt to Ludvig Borga, and have Lex Luger versus Borga as the main event at WM 10. Nice job not doing that.
This was the 1st WrestleMania PPV to ever air in the Canadian province of New Brunswick....Fundy(Fun-DEE) Cable on 55 Waterloo St. in Saint John there launched the Viewer's Choice Canada PPV service on June 1, 1993, for events only(no movies), and this was the 1st one I ever saw on PPV TV. In N.B., WrestleMania X began it's airing with the WM X Countdown Show at 4:30PM Atlantic Standard Time, with the main card starting at 5PM AST that afternoon/early evening. I called my grandmother to tell her that Bret Hart beat Yoko at the end of the event as it happened, with me telling her that the WWF Championship was back in Canadian hands again, which gives me some Canadian pride, humble as it has to be. =)
One thing I would have liked to see at Wrestlemania X: Owen coming out to congratulate Bret Hart. Their feud was great and served its purpose. I think Owen was due a face turn and it would have made the ending that much more epic.
So you think one of the best matches in Wrestlemania history, one which is still talked about today and is among the best matches in the last 30 years, should have been shortened for a 10 Man Tag Match which the fans in attendance probably wouldn't have cared as much about due to the clinic that Michaels and Ramon had just put on. Shouldn't the fact that no one in Management said anything to Michaels and Ramon about be evidence that the 10 Man Tag was a filler match? I agree they had a right to be unhappy, but still he was wrong for having a go at them. Yes Shawn and Razor were being selfish. But at the same time, they were in he ring and could hear the crowds reaction to the match, hence why they ignored the Ref and continued the match.
They wanted The Fabulous Moolah to guest referee the Women's Championship match, according to Leilani Kai. She turned down the offer of the match after heat with Moolah for years and instead suggested Debbie Combs. They promoted Combs vs Blayze on TV and even put it in the WWF Magazine preview. They eventually convinced Kai to do the match but agreeing she could work he European Tour pre-Mania to work off any ring rust, Kai also was burned badly when a car backfired near her a week prior to the event, which explains her different appearance. Her hair had been fried (hence the change in colour) and she had burned her neck, which is why she wore a full black body suit. They also put heavy white make up on her to cover any visible markings. Kai also explains that they were supposed to go much longer than 3 minutes but Shawn Michaels approached them backstage to cut it down to give the ladder match more time, Kai agreed as she got on well with Michael's
And to add to the finish of the show ... they foreshadowed the continuing Hart brothers feud by having Owen, who beat Bret in the opening match of the card, coming out and looking angry at his older brother being carried around the ring with the WWF title belt. The feud would continue all the way through 1994 including their memorable cage match at SummerSlam and would wind up (for the time being) when Owen caused Bret to lose the WWF title to Bob Backland in the "I Quit" match at the Survivor Series when he convinced their mom Helen to "throw in the towel" to prevent Bret getting hurt in Backland's Crossface Chickenwing. The Bret v Owen feud was Pro Wrestling Illustrated's 1994 Feud of the Year.
When Shawn Michaels suggested that (regarding a lighter schedule), Vince definitely listened closely and is using that same way to book Brock Lesnar today.. he has actually confirmed it ! (Not being that is was HBK’s idea, but he is booking him at very few shows, because he wants it to be special, when Brock is advertised to appear)
I live in the states, probably will never go to a WCPW show but don't blame them for pushing their advertising. I feel like these videos are the perfect avenue for promoting their events. Besides, they're at the end of the video, so if it bothers someone, they can just turn off the video when the main part is done. An advert AFTER the video is probably the most polite thing a company can do lol.
this was the 1st ppv i paid for. my older brother always bought them. but he had moved out right after the royal rumble. so i paid for it just for owen vs bret. everyting else was a bonus. and bret & owen gave me my moneys worth alone.
Fair play to Randy Savage, even though he bashed Mr Perfect it was still cool of him to stick up for the guys who couldn't wrestle due to the IC match and giving Bret Hart the in-ring hoist celebration.
Luger has said he knew for months he wasn't getting the belt, and the bar thing wasn't true. According to him, he asked Vince for tickets for his family, and Vince responded "You know you're not winning, right?" He said he did, but thought it would be nice for his kids to see him wrestle live and get a trip to New York out of it. My guess is the reporter was wrong, or maybe even made it up, then covered their tracks when it turned out to not be true.
Well thank you Michael and Scott for going too long and saving us all from having to sit through Bob Holly and Jeff Jarrett. That alone should be praised, not scorned.
When wrestlers were wrestlers in wrestling and not superstars in sports entertainment. When you had gimmicks and the freedom to talk, using words you can't say today (yet those words still exist in our dictionaries so that means they are ok to say) and not everything is about the Alphabet groups to keep the sn0wflak3s and DewDr0ps happy. Wrestling by wrestlers for wrestling fans. The golden years with 80s gimmicks, 90s Attitude, and 2000 Ruthless Aggression. Happy times.
I was hoping it would be mentioned that Leilani Kai is the only wrestler to perform in a match at WrestleMania I and WrestleMania X, as Hogan was gone and Piper was only a referee and such.
Looking back HBK vs Razor was a great ladder and for those who are calling them selfish on going overtime causing the ten man tag to be pulled from the event, it’s actually Vince’s fault for not being to make up his mind on who should win between Bret and Lex resulting in Bret and Yoko each to pull double duty. If I was Vince, I would have made Bret the sole rumble winner, challenge Yoko for the title and hold off Bret vs Owen feud until Summerslam
According to Bret in his documentary, the Best There Is, the Best There Was & the Best There Ever Will Be, it was Owen who was ready to quit the business before their feud, not him?
this comment had nothing to do with this vid but maybe if you all would start liking and cheering Roman reigns maybe wwe(Vince) would stop "shoving him down your throats' because it's obvious when the WWE universe likes something WWE gets rid of it right away but when the universe hates it Vince bes a douchebag and keeps it relevant

I love that photo you use for macho man lol
Back when WWE cared about the crowd reactions.
Interestingly enough, Meltzer actually saw the schedule for Mania 10 and the HBK/Razor match only went 5 seconds longer than scheduled.
- believes everything Meltzer says
These are so great
thanks for the video
"If you were a Lex Luger fan, and you know who you are," Mr OOC 😂😂
this was the ppv that got me into wrestling
I love this mania....easily top 3
yo wcpw exit wounds looks dope!
I was hoping it would be mentioned that Leilani Kai is the only wrestler to perform in a match at WrestleMania I and WrestleMania X, as Hogan was gone and Piper was only a referee and such.
Fact #11: WWE was known as WWF in 1994
Jon Power My god I never knew that 😂😂
This is news if you’re...2...
Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels My favorite match of all time!
Randy really was a savage. Putting people over 2 years in a row
Will there be a WM33 booking video?
According to Bret in his documentary, the Best There Is, the Best There Was & the Best There Ever Will Be, it was Owen who was ready to quit the business before their feud, not him?
First! and this was a great video
this comment had nothing to do with this vid but maybe if you all would start liking and cheering Roman reigns maybe wwe(Vince) would stop "shoving him down your throats' because it's obvious when the WWE universe likes something WWE gets rid of it right away but when the universe hates it Vince bes a douchebag and keeps it relevant
This asshole may be onto something here... Everyone let's cheer for Reigns until he lowers his guard and goes onto a racist rant and gains the power of invisibility!
EASTERN EUROPEAN ORPHAN everybody booed Roman at the rumble now look. Vince is gonna make Roman give taker his second L at mania just to piss the fanboys off
Broke Boi But I do cheer Roman.
Yeah, I don't think so but it would be an interesting experiment.
partly right, if everyone made no comments about him at all kept silent when he came out etc he would disappear
Oh boy I can't wait for The Big Doggy to beat The Undertaker despite getting Tombstoned 43 times then winning with a Superman Punch followed by 1 Spear. Boy I can't wait.
The ladder match was great. No one would have remembered the 10 man tag match anyway.
