My scalo was so tender I was a bit horrified at the thought of using it again. Maybe something like the simply striaght my might be easier to use. But I am scared of the pain I may have, and heat damage. Too many negatives.
Yes! Finally! Please note how she used products to moisturize/soften and protect her hair. Please, dont blow dry your hair with nothing on it. Heat opens up follicles with low porosity. Use that tension method! Put that cream moisturizer on it. Job well done!

I have thick 4C natural hair which is prone to tangling so washdays were a complete nightmare and I lost so much in breakage. I found a combination of your method completely by accident. I use the comb on the dryer and tension method with a detangler and that's been a miracle for me. Finger part the hair, then dry by starting from the bottom and gently work my way up the section causes the hair to detangle. Before it would take up to three hours to detangle and dry the hair. Now I do it in an hour maximum. The difference is amazing.

I've noticed that you used a bandana to hold the dryer, which I'm assuming is because it gets so hot. I used to have the same problem. There's a Kiss Red handle-less dryer you can buy that stays cool, so you can use the comb without burning your hand. I love it!! I think you can get it at Target now for about $20, which is 15 bucks or so cheaper than when I bought mine a few years ago.
You can protect your hair so much better by using a concentrator nozzle when using the tension method, it serves as a cushion between your hair and direct heat.

I learned the hard way that I can’t just allow my coarse thick hair to dry naturally because it ends up looking like a rats nest and the ends look horrible. I’m positive that your technique will give me the results that I seek because I used to do something similar in the past and my hair was very manageable

This is very helpful helped me to blow dry my hair for the first time very easily after switching to a smaller blow dryer than a much bigger one. My blow dryer comv was falling off, going to tie it next time.
