I just tried this. I was skeptical at first since I have really corse 4c hair almost nothing working for me. This method helped my fro a lot. I got to see my fro’s length for the first time
I'm in my Mid 40s and when I was a little girl, my Mom used to "plat" my hair after she washed it. She would oil it then plat it like this (in this video) so my hair would air dry while I went outside to play🤗. The good ole days.
She is that perfect UA-cam or who is pretty has healthy hair is vegan and shows a little bit of her life but not too much and barely gets hate or not even any
I've watched a lot of stretching tutorials, and this is the only one I feel confident trying. It's simple, easy, and fairly low maintenance. I don't care for the banding ones, too many bands and seems like it might unduly stress and dry out hair. I love how this girl uses minimal products on her 4c hair and it's fabulous! Goes to show that maybe our hair may actually thrive better when it can breath!
Listen... I will use a comb, a magnified mirror, go slow, meditate, and my glasses... And my parts will STILL not be that straight! When Moses parted the red sea, it was still uneven compared to her parts. I can't with Life lol
Remember if your hair is long, like hers, the weight of it is going to stretch your hair. So she does have 4 c. It's just stretched because of gravity.
First off I want to start off saying that my hair looked nothing like hers when done. It did not look like hers because she, and I do not have the same hair type. With that being said I was very pleased with my end results. I followed the steps exactly, and my hair although not straight in the end, but was very curly like crochet hair that I would normally purchase. My hair was full, and moisturized. In the past I have done twist outs with very disappointing results. O will continue to follow these steps to achieve a very natural curly look. My hair did not shrink up like it normally would, and only look like a short afro. Keep in mind that we all have different hair types however, following these steps will definitely give you great results in the end. 🙂 Thank you for this easy to follow video. I have struggled with my hair for years trying to achieve a look a was happy with.
For real. I was watching like "that's great! excellent job. good technique. i will not be doing that". never mind the way that brush just slid through her hair with about 4 strokes. what?!
Sis, did the braids not leave your hair way more wavy that what she is showing? If I braid or twist mine wet and let it dry I have deep waves that are not being brushed out with a little oil.
I just did the same and omfg the result is amazing. I’m on my 7th month without using heat and I wanted a stretched look, this is def something I will do regularly tysm. 🥰
Love this. 12 years natural and no heat has touched my hair. I love this alternative to blow outs. I don't know what my hair looks like stretched I'm excited!
I'm just now seeing this video, and I'm sorry, but she does NOT have 4c hair. More how, no way. 4c has a real tight , tight curl. Not a tight curl to be seen anywhere on her head
OMG just tried this method for detangling I have my hair drying right now and that was such an easy and pain-free detangling plus I'm tender headed so I love love love thanks💖💖💖 super helpful
Okay girl, ima try this method because when I try to air dry my hair, it comes out soooo dry and gets more tangled than when I blow dry it but I'm going to give this a shot! Your hair is growing so beautifully by the way! 💕
You may have more hair strands than her hair and be much more thicker than hers, you just can't be fooled by what another person hair does. I'll keep and love my thicker hair. For my hair wouldn't be dry and I hair far more hair than she has and I cannot untangle my hair like that and my shrinkage is far greater than hers, It's called loving your very own hair. When I look at other people's hair and I see what I don't have and what I do have... I'm thrilled!! You see the flaws and what you don't have, there's isn't as it seems to be compared to what you live without.,
Just want to say how amazing this technique really is!!!! I’ve used it several times on my super super 4c type hair and it works perfectly 😊 thanks again Queen!

I've been brushing my hair the wrong way for years!! I always started at the top. Seen the right way in the Madam Cj Walker movie and then your video. Also glad to know I should detangle wet not dry. THANK YOU!!🥰
This was the best stretching/detangling video ever. I have cut my hair to the scalp 3x because it takes too long to maintain my hair. This was so easy and my hair is very thick and coily. Thank you!
Thank you so much, you honestly are the reason I decided to go natural. I had been debating for a long time because I felt I didn't know what to do with it or if I could manage it but when I found your channel I was like ok I can do this. Thank you God bless
I just want to thank you so much for posting this video although I know it's an older video at this point. I had actually come across this video apparently shortly after you have posted it and had liked it then but forgot that I had saved it on my black hair care tips playlist, lol. And so fast forward to today that I'm frustrated with my hair, go figure, and Google a heatless blowout in low and behold your video pops up. And so after rewatching it I felt so refreshed in my mission to enjoy my hair again. I have been using different hair care tools blow dryers mistakenly thinking that it's saving myself time when in fact it's not and probably did more harm than good. I'm a 20-year plus natural and I had gotten tired of doing my twist outs years ago. Your video here served as a beautiful refreshing reminder to myself of how simple I used to do my hair, low product usage and it lasted a good long while. So once again thank you so much You are phenomenally beautiful.
You just saved me from perming my hair! I've been natural since 2012. I always have to keep my hair in braids or a crochet style because when I do a twist out, it'll last for like 1 or 2 days. Then my hair is no longer manageable, I can't comb through it and I have to put it back up in a style almost immediately afterwards. I'm trying this technique out today, I braided my hair up and will take it down and wear it out tomorrow. I truly believe this will work because it's starting off already stretched even before it dries. This should significantly reduce shrinkage! Wish me luck and again, thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. ❤️
I felt like somebody just needed to ask if anyone else noticed how beautiful this woman is? Them brown eyes are poppin honey! Your hair is so beautiful. Don't mind me.. my white ass just found out about the wonderful world of African American hair care products. (I have low/medium porosity hair. It is super thin and dry 9/10.
Because of you I only wash my hair besides when shampooing so I don't have to worry about detangling. It helps to grow my hair by not yanking the strands. Thank you so much
I've been looking for a way to detangle and stretch my daughter's hair without too much hassle. Her hair tangles on itself too easily when blowdrying. I'm going to try this! Thanks for posting!!
This is the best hair video, I have seen for natural hair, you actually made me want to do my hair instead of going to the salon and getting a glueless wig, ponytail or just getting a blowout and flat iron. I hate doing my natural hair and I will actually try this.
I remember u did a similar video but instead of leaving them down u stretch them n pin them down N everysince since I went natural I kept doin it I works really good
I'm fairly new to natural and growing my hair. I was forced into it because of Auntie COVID 🤣. I've been relaxer free and short hair cut free since pandemic!! I don't know how I came across your channel Kim, but I'm I ever so glad that I did, because I have been binge watching and I have learned so much and I love that you make it all beginner friendly and without all the added not-needed extras that others do on their natural channels!!! Thanks again😊😊❤️
I love the fact you use minimal products on your hair, I'm definitely going to try this and then the flexi rod set as per your other video, thank you 🤗
I have 4C hair and this works! I forgot to put the oil on my hair before platting and leaving overnight - I added it while taking it down - but it still works. My hair is not tangled and it is stretched. Will be part of my routine from now on 💪🏾
