I absolutely loved this vlog shun. To your point on marriage and just being clear and understanding yourself before becoming someone’s wife and mom. That is so big. For me personally something I’ve been trying to work through although I desire that just doing the inner work first. It’s so hard!

Hey girl, I was in your same position 1 year ago. I left me relationship 1 year ago and decided to stop dating and be abstinent & It changed by life for the better. I been so locked in with God. I been focused. I have accomplished so much in my single season and I have learned how to be content in my single season. My discernment is sharper than it’s ever been and although I have been asked on dates during this season, I have either turned them down or ended thing’s quickly. When God says no, I listen and i’m obedient. Girl the peace you get from not dating and remaining abstinent is UNMATCHED! You’re a beautiful woman 🤍.
I also just came off of a 3 day water fast as well where I only consumed water from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. which was hard but I wanted to hear from God very bad , more than eating and that’s what helped me. Also there are only some things that can come through prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting is like sending a fax to God. You also receive provision and protection from prayer and fasting.

That is so beautiful! Sometimes we have to let go of things we love to become all that God is calling us to be. Gods plan is so much more important than our own fleshly desires. Even though it gets hard sometimes I know it’ll be so worth in the end. Happy for you! Hearing this is definitely encouraging. Being abstinent is definitely peaceful, I’ve definitely realized the difference in my emotions when I am practicing abstinence. And it’s Gods protection. When we step outside of the standards he’s already set in place we’re literally setting ourselves up 🥲😂 but I appreciate you sharing this! And I linked the sermon in the description box 🩷
i think we all are experiencing the same thing . may gods grace be upon us all because it does get hard . this was timely and made me feel like I’m not in this alone . isolation seasons are tough as well but in order to receive the blessings god have purification and separation needs to take place .

& about you ending your fast early.. I remember listening to Devo Energy and someone was basically talking about the importance of not breaking your fast even if you get your answers during your fast. A lot of times, God wants to see how disciplined we really are

@@ShunCook it’s okaaay. I fasted for the 1st time too with RC in January, and that ended early 😅 but then I did a second one in April. What really helped me complete the fast was me constantly saying that the devil wants to laugh in Gods face about me and my fast saying “Hahaha.. told you she would break the fast” and I cannot embarrass God like that! Maybe it’ll help you too 😭
Yeah I had to look at temptation the exact same way. The devil can’t do anything without God’s permission and that keeps me encouraged because the more things I grow through, the more refined I become. I just encourage you to continue to keep trying and try to find community to help you stay focused and encouraged when you feel yourself becoming weak and wanting to give in
God truly shines his light through you in every video. You’re so beautiful & genuine inside and out. I just turned 21 and i’m currently in college and i’ve been building my relationship with God and focusing on my self & my isolation season i guess. Temptation is heavy but God has been teaching me discipline daily. I literally be waiting for you to drop a vlog lol, you’re such an inspiration an I love how you allow God to use you to give his word out to people like me. 🩷🩷
Aww thank you! Temptation is definitely heavy but we have the power to overcome it, we just have to be stronger than the enemy. He only has as much power that we give him. Wishing you success on your college journey babe!

I love when you started speaking on taken that time at least a year to yourself being that I was in a six year relationship and had a child to become single again it’s deep it feels weird starting over healing and being a parent with depression and anxiety and it’s amazing to see the journey that I have taken I am numb. And most definitely need the time to myself before another relationship can be a question again for me

you got this! were in the same boat my love and we will get through this! We have a little one to push through for.I questioned God before and asked why me, but why not me? because he knew what i was up against already and what he placed in me and in you to get through and help others. I went through my first pregnancy with ptsd and anxiety and not being with the father during the whole time, but i kept my faith and showed up for myself and my unborn baby at the time. I am a survivor and i witnessed the murder of my brother and uncle 9 years ago. i'm just starting to truly face it. I say all that to say when you've been through the unthinkable just know whatever you go up against its no greater than God.
I used to watch you a couple years ago and can I just say I’m so inspired and in awe of your growth!! Wow! So amazing seeing what having God in your life can do for a person. Make sure you know that you have a biological clock on when to have kids too dont just focus on the now, focus on the future too and what a man truly wants from you cause how are y’all gonna cooperate right if you don’t know that and women never think about that it’s always about them and you don’t always have to have fun either.. you aren’t missing out on nun a family should come first for all women not your career definitely the man you want.. wants a women that is feminine, coachable, loyal, submissive, and attractive in some way js💯💯
Getting a man early or rushing it out of desperation is the worse thing a woman can do. Proper discernment comes for women after the age of 25 with 27-28+ being the sweet spot. Statistically, this is the most successful marriage age for women as well as the average age of marriage for women in the west and any earlier is doomed to fail. We are lucky that as women, we live in an age where having a child is no longer compulsory and we also have options of freezing our eggs which allows us to buy some time. We do not control this. It’s only God that decides and not all of us are going to be wives or mothers and that’s okay too. We can provide value in other ways
Ps: that man better have money then 😅 most guys cannot afford a wife that can be fully comfortable enough to focus on nor cater to him yet, are the same ones constantly wanting to tell women what it is that they want (as if we’re the ones pursuing them and not the other way around) 😂😴🚮

@@sammywilliams6 Too bad the baby rates have started to drop significantly for ALL women across the board. 😂 Also, Marriage is only beneficial for a woman if that man is financially stable and can afford to fully provide for her which most men cannot afford to do. Therefore, it’s better to remain single and child free for women these days than to marry just for the sake of it. Especially for blk women (because of their already fragile and vulnerable circumstances). A lot of us are realising this and choosing to focus on self. Not men 😂😴

loved this vlog Shun ❤you are absolutely right, healing is not a linear process; therefore, the goal is to learn and move with the journey, give yourself space and love yourself in the midst of it all, and continue to seek the Lord. (you reminded me of that) !! I've learned that sometimes we never truly know what caused us trauma until it comes around full surface in a situation we thought we were whole on. The number one thing I'm learning is to be truly content. In the midst of the storm and rain I continue to put my faith in Jesus. Being content is easier said than done but I'm working on it and he's working in me. You inspire me so much. Thank you for your honesty and transparency in your vlogs but also thank you for not telling us everything!! Learning when to disclose and not to, so things can come to pass is so important!🌷We can see how great the Lord is through you and that is beautiful Shun!
