Will Italy ever revise this process making it easier to obtain citizenship for those with great grandparents that gave birth to their grandfather before 1912? Or if the great grandfather was naturalized before the birth of the grandfather? I would think this would excite a lot of Italians in the US and Canada that do not currently qualify due to the current laws. Please let me know your thoughts?
My GGF was Italian and through that connection I'd like to request IT citizenship. However, all papers were lost in WWI, WWII and Balkans wars. I don't even have his birth certificate. I'm pretty sure documents were lost in IT during time, as well. I don't know much about my GGF so I can't provide info. Should I keep on going that way, or simply quit and go for another visa type? Thanks! 😊
Grandparents naturalized to USA citizenship in 1944. Their daughter was born in 1924 and immediately became a USA citizen at birth. Being she was 20 yo at the time of parents citizenship and still considered a minor is the bloodline broken at this point and the daughters children be eligible for citizenship? Can you address this question?
I wish i can begin this process but I can’t. The Italian ancestor of mine didn’t recognize his daughter meaning his name isn’t on her birth certificate. But we all know he’s the father. What do you think i can do nothing?
you did not discuss the biggest issue in obtaining Italian citizenship: the bureaucracy … try getting an appointment at the LA consulate … impossible! … you can only request an appointment via the ministry portal … good luck with that! Italians have to wait 10-12 months just to renew their passport!!! you should Present solutions for the Italian bureaucracy nightmare in your next video …
This is what's making me think it's out of reach for me. My cousin already got hers, so I know I'm eligible. I just have no idea how to score an appointment at the San Francisco consulate.
