Don't Bring Me No Bad News; one of my all-time favorites: a villain's song sung with Gospel fervor! Rest In Peace to the great Mabel King (who played Evillene in the play and the movie) who OWNED this song!!!
Great song.. and Mable king took em to church wit it . One of the best parts is after she talked to the flying monkeys when she said " War is hell hit it Moriss .. and they hit the choirs one mo time.. Classic
Mabel King was a saving grace in this movie! Phenomenal song! I can imagine Mahalia Jackson, if she had wanted to, would have also knocked this out of the park.
Shit if you mean the top of the list of the songs from the wiz. Yes this is definitely number 1 and number 2 is you can't win. To be honest both of them deserve number 1 spot not only for the sound but because the performance as well. They were spot on. You don't really see this kinda talent these days.
On the original cast album, this song was slowed down alot and it didn't sound as good. This is a song that is meant to be jumpy and fast . By the way...can you imagine the late Nell Carter singing this? She probably would have done a great job.
Horrible reaction, kept interrupting the video😢 Wait until the production has finished before commenting. Mabel King was excellent actor and singer, perfect for the role.
The idea is is a sweatshop if you look at on the wall and has her name and it says sweatshop it also say manufacturing warehouse all on the walls so you can look at it as like a warehouse where they working like slaves in the way and especially nowadays me as a warehouse worker I really can't understand this

I love this song
How is that a bad song? It's great
This was actually my favorite song from The Wiz (close second was You Cant Win). Still one of my favorite movie scenes period along with Brand New Day
Lmao, it scared me when I first saw it too. But I didn't first see it until around 98. I didn't even know it came out that long ago.
when I was a kid! I had nightmare from this scene!! Mabel King is too scary!
Scared the @#_& outta me as a kid ... I remember sleeping in between my parents plenty of nights after seeing Evilene.
Heyyy here watching and showing❤
She is no joke and she is still alive because spirits don't die she will live on forever from this
Love it 😍
Bro… I’m with u.. this movie scared the heck outta me..
Fun fact:
- Evillyn's throne is a large toilet
- the handle to her whip is a large ham bone

You guys should do Brand-new Day reaction.

Gospel is the good news. The evil witch Evilene, singing a Gospel tune while whipping & demanding her subjects don't bring any negativity to her...
Dang... I thought you were twins!

I didn't like how ugly they made Mabel unlike when she was in the original Wiz Broadway show in 1975.
From the way those guys dance you'd think they worshipped her instead of being enslaved by her
They were all wearing masks (they took them off later)
Wish he would stop singing and let us hear her singing. Jeez.
