that's EXACTLY what I thought at 1st as well because they are the opposites of each other, this was all in her head it only makes since them to be the same actor
22:32 This song and the remix by Nas "Surviving the times" are favorites but I love sad music. It is so sad and it warms my heart to know emo music been that girl lol aka The Blues
That's a No on the Aunt Em / Evillene casting; they were different actors. Mabel King, who played Evillene, *was* familiar to us back then as the mother on "What's Happening!" and certainly delivered smackdown as Evillene here on all levels. I too love this movie mightily, regardless of its faults and such; it's fun in itself but also references the 1939 film and the book's heritage with such delectable cultural craft. And then there's the MUSIC, as you so rightly celebrate, and can I just chime in with a big-ol' AMEN for Quincy Jones's slick cameo in that hot Emerald City number!
What I also noticed was that #1 When Dorothy met the Munchkins, they were stuck too - she's freed them from Evermean (most places she went, people got emancipated from their bondage). Also #2 The Lion was not only stuck, he was hiding (Due to shame after getting kicked out the jungle). I LOVE your review!
Okay, there are a lot of cultural references in this movie. I haven't seen it in a long time but one of them is back in the 60s or 70s there was a commercial about a household cleaner that featured a white tornado. This scene was also about white racism. There were more but I'd have to watch the movie again to refresh my mind.
breaking my heart. If I Could Feel is the best. To be fair, the play had a better version of it ,but it was preformed when they met the wiz. Love all the songs tbh
@@j.cuttproductions You gotta see the 2015 NBC version of _The Wiz._ The cast is incredible, the songs are just as wonderful, and is one of the best live specials I've ever seen.
So that was the one I was debating about doing but not for wicked week, but I will put it on my list cause I actually never seen it before. Oz great and powerful will be after I can get the Wizard of Oz cleared of copyright 😅
*My Mistake*
Evillene and Auntie Em is NOT the same Actor! #epicfail Lol!

@@j.cuttproductions
You can see it on the sign on the outside of the building at the very beginning of the scene.
That’s interesting. Why did she need their sweat??
@@kaico.videos8668
Better question. Who would want it.

Very Black AMERICAN/ African AMERICAN ❤🔱🖤✊🏾✨
Have you done the 1955 version of "Carmen" with Dorthy Dandridge?
1954
I never heard of this
@ It is one of my favorites.
Will you do Return to Oz?
So that was the one I was debating about doing but not for wicked week, but I will put it on my list cause I actually never seen it before.
Oz great and powerful will be after I can get the Wizard of Oz cleared of copyright 😅
Will we see the original Wizard of Oz on the channel? If already haven’t.
Yes, it was supposed to come out first, but I’m having issues with copyright, but I will make every effort to get it on the channel 🤩🤩🤩
