- This is the all new BMW S1000rr for 2019. We took a bit of time off the stand at Motorcycle Live 2018 to check and first look review the new BMW S1000rr.
A real contender for the ultimate supersports bike in 2019, the BMW S1000rr is an incredibly important bike for BMW. Since the first S1000rr launched in 2009, it changed the landscape of the supersports bike market with radical looks and electronic technology.
The new BMW S1000rr aims for more of the same. A move away from the asymmetrical design, the new model is sleeker, thinner, more powerful and lighter.
We think its great and really hope to ride one in 2019!

Great video, to be honest this bike makes the Panigale V4 looks so much better. If I could have any litter+ bike I would get the regular V4.

Panigale V4 only has one colour option, any company that doesn't give consumers choices is automatically garbage.

I wasn't a fan of the old headlight design, but to each their own. I understand why it made the old generation stand out from the crowd.
I prefer the design of the original s1000rr. The weird headlight and cool shark gills on the side looked much more unique and agressive.
They have so much new tech coming into this bike that it'd be a travesty to use the older bodywork in a re-defining bike IMO

Didnt think i would say this about a bmw but that is the best looking bike i have ever seen. Ducati has some competition.
I like the exposed motor and sub frame, Its nice to see a little different design with these super bikes. No need to cover all of the bike. Great design top to bottom.

Yes, S1000RRs look great, they're really blingy and they certainly make you look like a well-to-do badass. But try owning one. Reliability is shitty as hell...

Massive BMW fan here. I miss the shark gills on the side, but I think the previous headlights looked like shit. I'm glad they went for symetrical lights on the 2019 model.

I'll be hard to beat the Duc 1103cc. Yet Shift-cam would broaden the torque. Be nice if the manufacturers would release some good ol' 1100cc engines again. Japan had that displacement in the 1990's.
So pretty much U.S price should be similar if thats the case

What most people are missing is what can be a really serious problem with 2019 S1000RR. It is front geometry of the bike. Trail - 93.9mm and forks angle 23.1 degrees. This is very wrong for anyone who plans to use it for racing or "inspired" road riding. These numbers will give you very unstable bike which handles great at low speed, but will be very unstable at high speed. Prone to tank slappers and etc. Proper front geometry for fast bike like this lays somewhere around 100 to 110mm trail and 25 to 26 degrees of fork angle. In my opinion this may be the major problem with new S1000RR.

And now I'm nostalgic for the old headlight design, the new front end just looks like a Ducati to be honest. I don't think it's ugly but if the red one was coming up behind me my first thought would be Ducati and not BMW. Triumph made the same mistake in my book, they had these iconic dual round headlights on the Speed Triple. You saw those round headlights in your mirrors and you instantly thought "oh shit, Speed Triple!". But now the latest Speed Triple just looks like a Yamaha or some other Japanese bike in the front, it's a sad development.

I hate how the brake calipers look...boring grey with BMW on them...the Brembo looks so much better (a guy who owned a highly modified 2012 BMW S1000RR and just put a deposit down 3 days ago to reserve a 2019 Ducati Panigale V4R).

Finally BMW fixed their headlights and made it symmetrical! The previous model S1000RR looked like they combined parts of different bikes they found in a junk yard.

I don’t like how the engine and the exhaust pipe are exposed on the bottom. It looks really ugly. You would think that BMW would build fairings to cover the bottom half. Compare it with the Panigale V4 to see what I mean. Although I love the S1000; I wouldn’t buy it because of it. I prefer the 2018 model.
