- Jenin is one of the most volatile cities in the occupied West Bank, where fighters from Islamic Jihad are holding some Israeli hostages kidnapped on Oct. 7, 2023.
At least 370 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since that day, according to local health authorities, with many of them being in Jenin.
Daniele Hamamdjian was granted rare access to a refugee camp in Jenin and finds out what drives the anger towards Israel.

What drives the anger towards Israel?, maybe the 75 years of occupation, aggression and human rights violations.
Palestinians have no right to the land historically or otherwise. How many Palestinian kings have reigned in Palestine? None. Who is the first major leader of the Palestinians? Arafat, who was born in Egypt. Palestinian anger towards Israel starts from the misconception that they are the rightful residents of the land.

International matters should not be based on ancient myths and legends. The people who were thrown out of their villages by european colonizers, never given the right to return and now treated worse than second class citizens are right to be angry. Under international law, an occupied people have a right to resistance.

No such thing as a refugee camp in Gaza… it’s a city that has existed since the inception of Gaza
First, Jenin is not in the Gaza Strip. Second, there are indeed refugee camps in the Gaza Strip. Gaza CITY is a separate thing. But Jabalia, etc., were founded as refugee camps, just like Jenin and many other Palestinian towns under Israeli occupation.

What anger? The only thing that I worry about is why is Israel taking so long to dismantle Gaza. For those short on history, this Middle East conflict is over 2,500 years old.

There is no 'MIddle East conflict' of that permanence. War has existed in that region, as it has in every other part of the world, forever (i.e. please don't tell me you don't understand that European states were in a state of perpetual war until the EU and NATO became a thing, and even then some wars persisted).
But the 'Middle East conflict' you are alluding to, involving Palestine, Israel and the other nations of the Levant, is a direct result of Zionism. Before Zionism, it was to the Levant (e.g. the Ottoman Empire) that Jews fled to ESCAPE persecution in Europe. Why do you think that was?
Finally, Israel has no legal authority to 'dismantle Gaza', just as China cannot 'dismantle Nepal'. Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem are territories which are legally EXTERNAL to Israel's sovereignty.

Presenting one side of the story arouses suspicion and severely damages your trust as a global channel. I challenge you to try to find on your own why the IDF must have full security control over the Jenin refugee camp. Trust me.. the feeling of doing something right, for a change, will contribute a lot to your mood
Security control is necessary during a temporary military occupation, just as UN forces exercised in Afghanistan. However, why is Israel then building permanent settlements through the West Bank (where Jenin is located), and evicting and confining Palestinians in Hebron and East Jerusalem, all territories in which they have NO legal authority. Where in Afghanistan did UN forces construct New Stockholm or New Helsinki, evicting Afghans from their land so that Swedish or Finnish settlers could move in? Well, that never happened, because it was genuinely a temporary occupation for security purposes. Israel has simply been trying to annex Palestine for 75 years, and of course, indigenous people will never simply allow that, hence a permanent need for 'full security control', as you put it.
I challenge you to educate yourself on international law and history, Mr/Ms Hasbara.

It is difficult for an American to understand. We have very many ethnic groups and religions, all vote and all enjoy the opportunities of freedom. Why is it always Islam that becomes a problem. Is it the Imam? The Koran? A charismatic politician? (I would ask about injustice, but the homes are better than mine, medical care seemed more available, and location seems advantageous for business. I understand there was some crime following war. My family lost valuable land following a war. That happens when a family member is on the wrong side. The war ended. It's over. )
