I did not mention any of the crimes committed by Israel recently, such as the use of white phosphorus on civilians after bombing their homes under the pretext that Hamas was hiding underneath them. They not only bombed their homes, but also bombed hospitals and schools and ordered them to be evacuated until all the patients inside died. Even journalists and doctors are not spared from their attacks, as they try to kill everything that exposes them. This is the difference between Palestinian fighters and IDF. For Palestinians, a dead soldier isn't just another casualty. They proudly celebrate their martyrdom, every single day, long after they're gone. No matter how many die it doesn't deter them. They're not afraid to share their pain and loss. They gain strength from the dead who fought for life itself. IDF on the other hand, cowards as they are, hide their losses behind their hubris and false claims of victories. They know well that they have nothing to fight for, no moral base instilled in their soldiers, so the very thought of dying would shatter their fragile morale. Some of Israel's allies are starting to seriously question their partnership, they're all losing public support, Israel itself is collapsing internally. Palestine was never a state until the UN partition plan. Understandably, the plan was met with alot of resistance because it gave most of the land to the jews but Isreal gave many compromises that heavily favored Palestine that were shut down because they were greedy and wanted all of the land. The only time that it was Isreal that was rejecting a compromise was at the Oslo accords because they wanted East Jerusalem which Isreal had controlled for 40 years by that point. Most of this stuff is on wikipedia so perceive that source as you will. It wasn't and isn't their land by any means.

I'm a westerner - I used to despise these guys. I've since learnt the full history since 1900 and now I feel I understand them much better. What choice do they have but to resist - in fact, their right to resist the occupation is enshrined in UN law. Most Westerners don't know the history and what's going on today in the West Bank with aggressive Settler expansion and further ongoing Nakba. I feel so sorry for the UK's involvement in what happened and for our Government's supporting it to this day.

The Palestinians struggles began in 1920 when Britain took over the land since the end of World War Two so the brutality increased in the country of Palestinian and then Britain did the balfour declaration that is linked to the Nakba in 1945 and its the suffering is still happening nonstop to the indigenous people of the land of Palestine. The way I see it since they suffered and still are suffering to this century, Palestine and Palestines deserve freedom and to live with dignity with NO apartheid system forced on them in their homeland. A reminder: Palestinians are the direct descendants of the ancient Canaanites.
This was a really tough video to get through for me. I understand the history, causes, and solutions between Palestine and Israel. I support the emancipation of Palestinians to have land and freedom from the oppressive government of Israel so they can both live together peacefully like they have done before in history. And even though all of actions from Hamas aren't defendable like when innocent people are killed, it's impossible to not see the reasons why a lot of these people fight the military. They are all sick of being humiliated and seen as less human by Israel and the world, and is resisting the only way they see possible. My view of Palestine fighters and freedom fighters lately have shifted, I can see and understand their side of life in Gaza. Being part Native American and knowing American history, there are so many similarities to Palestinians and the destruction of Native American tribes. Being Native I'm drawn to support freedom fighters who are facing the same horrible treatment Native Americans did and defending themselves the same as Natives did. ❤ 🇵🇸

These people are definitely not terrorists. They don’t even have proper military uniforms and equipment, you can see that they’re simply desperate and they’re defending their homes the best way they can.

I come from an Christian Orthodox family in Europe (so i don't have any outside influence of Jewish or Muslim origin) and i must say that this mini-documentary impressed me a lot so A BIG thank you @Al Jazeera station for this unique view they presented. To me, it is the first of this kind. All the more, my BA degree (after graduating college) was on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, so i had to read and document about a lot of things years ago. One can read a million books on this topic, and still know nothing about it, until talking to someone who was born and raised in this environment. And even then, they wouldn't be able to fully understand the struggle (the fight for survival) these people have to deal with on a daily basis. Even moving there will not be able to make them say they fully understand. The only ones that can understand are the ones born and raised there. These people have been deeply traumatised by loss and pain for decades and nothing is theirs anymore:their land, their home, they families can die any given day.They have nothing to belong to, except their faith and this struggle that gives their lives a meaning, a purpose. I hope that Abu Aseel (and all the men in this group), God willing, and their families, will be blessed to live the day they won't have to fight for their survival anymore. And they finally get the chance to see the sea. This detail moved me the most, it put many things into perspective.

You have to put things into perspective we have to understand as humans we don’t pick where we are born so we need to understand how a human is brought up and living. It's not hard to understand why people fight back and resist. He said it here, the whole video has shown us the reasoning of these men. They basically just people like us, wants peace, wants to get married have family. But if you born in situations which you saw people around you, your family, the weak get oppressed. I did not mention any of the crimes committed by Israel recently, such as the use of white phosphorus on civilians after bombing their homes under the pretext that Hamas was hiding underneath them. They not only bombed their homes, but also bombed hospitals and schools and ordered them to be evacuated until all the patients inside died. Even journalists and doctors are not spared from their attacks, as they try to kill everything that exposes them. I also did not talk about the Palestinian athletes who are being killed one after the other, or at least being sniped in sensitive places like the hands and feet, so that they cannot walk again, so that everything that is Palestinian is erased from history. Palestine was never a state until the UN partition plan. Understandably, the plan was met with alot of resistance because it gave most of the land to the jews but Isreal gave many compromises that heavily favored Palestine that were shut down because they were greedy and wanted all of the land. The only time that it was Isreal that was rejecting a compromise was at the Oslo accords because they wanted East Jerusalem which Isreal had controlled for 40 years by that point. Most of this stuff is on wikipedia so perceive that source as you will.

I'm a westerner - I used to despise these guys. I've since learnt the full history since 1900 and now I feel I understand them much better. The Palestinians struggles began in 1920 when Britain took over the land since the end of World War Two so the brutality increased in the country of Palestinian and then Britain did the balfour declaration that is linked to the Nakba in 1945 and its the suffering is still happening nonstop to the indigenous people of the land of Palestine.
The way I see it since they suffered and still are suffering to this century, Palestine and Palestines deserve freedom and to live with dignity with NO apartheid system forced on them in their homeland. A reminder: Palestinians are the direct descendants of the ancient Canaanites.
This was a really tough video to get through for me. I understand the history, causes, and solutions between Palestine and Israel. I support the emancipation of Palestinians to have land and freedom from the oppressive government of Israel so they can both live together peacefully like they have done before in history. And even though all of actions from Hamas aren't defendable like when innocent people are killed, it's impossible to not see the reasons why a lot of these people fight the military. They are all sick of being humiliated and seen as less human by Israel and the world, and is resisting the only way they see possible. My view of Palestine fighters and freedom fighters lately have shifted, I can see and understand their side of life in Gaza. Being part Native American and knowing American history, there are so many similarities to Palestinians and the destruction of Native American tribes. Being Native I'm drawn to support freedom fighters who are facing the same horrible treatment Native Americans did and defending themselves the same as Natives did. ❤ 🇵🇸

I was born during the Jenin war, my mom had a 90% chance of dying because they had to push their way through a war zone for a hospital since Israel army bombed all the hospitals in Jenin, October 3rd 2003. I come from an Christian Orthodox family in Europe (so i don't have any outside influence of Jewish or Muslim origin) and i must say that this mini-documentary impressed me a lot so A BIG thank you @Al Jazeera station for this unique view they presented. To me, it is the first of this kind. All the more, my BA degree (after graduating college) was on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, so i had to read and document about a lot of things years ago. One can read a million books on this topic, and still know nothing about it, until talking to someone who was born and raised in this environment. And even then, they wouldn't be able to fully understand the struggle (the fight for survival) these people have to deal with on a daily basis. Even moving there will not be able to make them say they fully understand. The only ones that can understand are the ones born and raised there. These people have been deeply traumatised by loss and pain for decades and nothing is theirs anymore:their land, their home, they families can die any given day.They have nothing to belong to, except their faith and this struggle that gives their lives a meaning, a purpose. I hope that Abu Aseel (and all the men in this group), God willing, and their families, will be blessed to live the day they won't have to fight for their survival anymore. And they finally get the chance to see the sea. This detail moved me the most, it put many things into perspective.
This is really well said. It is the first thing I do. You have to put things into perspective we have to understand as humans we don’t pick where we are born so we need to understand how a human is brought up and living. Here in the west, that kid is considered a terrorist just because he’s brown and wears something over his forehead. We are taught because someone looks the part that they are the good guy. You have to ask yourself this if you were born in this situation, what would you do? Bottom line. If your own country doesn’t recognize you as a citizen, you can’t run to them for help there is no police who do you ask for help? Who protects you? In the west when we hear martyr we think terrorist but they are just someone who died for there land and beliefs.. nothing more is the meaning
