Missed this when you first published it. Agree with your findings. I went with the GM f1.4 primarily for size and weight. Love the f1.2GM, it's special but I know I will use the smaller GM more just because it's easier to handle and carry.
Thank you so much for this video! You are absolutely right that most of the comparisons are unfair. To compare the Bokeh of both lenses you need to shoot at 1.2, but comparing the sharpness both lenses have to be at the same aperture at 1.4!
I own the F1.2 aswell and I absolutely agreed to you.

I saw a christopher frost review on both lenses. No mft charts, but even with youtube compression, i can see 1.4 being a sharper lens than 1.2, colour fringing is also slightly worse on 1.2
Separate reviews, separate videos, 1.2 is likely tested wide open and not at 1.4 for a more "fair" comparison. Not sure how you can come to any conclusions this way, but you do you.
@@TonyDae if I'm forking over a premium of 700 bucks , I expect the 1.2 to work just as well as the 1.4 @f1.2.

I had the Zeiss 50. Good lens but only usable at f2. Wide open there was a Lot glow. However switching Out for GM 1.2 i dont Look Back. If IT Had 67 mm Filter threat IT would be even more perfect. But for Photo and Video this Lens Kicks Asses. ;)
Zeiss has had issues with their 50 and 85 Planars and turned it around with the Milvus 50/85. I think the AF Zony 50 had improvements over the old Planar design, but still had some things I really didn't like... AF in video was one thing for sure but the BG's were always busy looking for me. The Sony GM just wrecks house in all IQ categories compared to Zony 50/55 in my opinion.
