lidl bakery for their croissant and pain au chocolat is very good. They are always crispy not soggy. I go there when I can but sadly the one near me closed years ago
Harrods £65, TESCO £15. Ask yourself, is Harrods over four times better tasting? Been to Harrods a few times, the food Hall is fantastic, normally buy 2 of 3 bits as treat but that’s about it.
We so enjoyed take away from Harrods one evening. I know we spent a lot but the choice was fab. I am kicking myself for not getting bakery items. I bet Mr Grack loves taking over Dad's spot to eat the test goodies.
Just a tip on getting the best out of the squadgy supermarket croissaints/pain au chocolate, you need to heat them up in the oven at 150C fir about 3-5mins and then let it cool for a minute and you get a lovely crispness on the outside and fluffiness on the inside. Still not as good as the bakery made ones but way better than eating them straight out of the packet.
I used to always get Tesco's food when was living in the UK. Their bakery, fresh ready made pies and quiches, frozen food and even canned foods. They also had THE BEST meat free products. Everything was SO delicious and good price. It allowed me to eat nice foods on a budget.
One Harrods Pain au Chocalat costs seven times as much as one from Tesco. Therefore the Harrods one needs to be seven times as good to draw with the Tesco one!!
Thank you for keeping me company while I folded laundry (there was A Lot) I didn't want to do it, but You said just try, this vid popped up and I set it as the timer Also, excellent haul!
I am not one to blindly say a cheap thing is good/tastes name brand, in fact, I am incredibly fussy on that and very few things enter my cheap but great space! However, Tesco's own ready salted crisps are far and away the nicest ready salted crisps I have ever tasted! Absolutely love them! Also, if you gave me a glass of Ribena and a glass of their own black currant I could not tell you the difference! Every other black currant outside of Ribena I find vile, yet Tesco's is once again super good! Also, slightly unrelated but shout out to Lidl's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. It's loaded with chunks and the ice cream and dough taste super nice and have a great texture! You are not missing Ben and Jerry's if you eat that! Weirdly Aldi's version was awful though haha
I wonder if you are drawn to the Tescos products (dedpite your culinary degree) because they are more similar to the brands you were brought up with, you associate those flavors with comfort? (your teacher parents were not shopping at Harrods).
That too 🙈 was just considering all options lol not that it is important, it just had crossed my mind that in France the baguettes are rock hard by the end of the day because they’re so fresh in the morning with fewer ingredients was all but tesco being better is an option too of course!! 😊🙈
I’d be interested on your opinion of supermarket gluten free and free from foods from the perspective of someone who isn’t used to the free from foods. I wonder whether the texture and consistency would make the foods not enjoyable if you are not accustomed to it?
I Love how Mr. Grack is on board with Your Vlogs! I so enjoy Your posts. I saw a post of two yearago and You hadn't dating anyone yet. Now You are married! So great! Much Love from Cape Cod!
I know you mentioned in some other videos you wanted to up your protein, but found it hard to do so. Since you love chocolate things and moussy things you might love the protein mousses from, i think aldi and lidl have them in the UK! They actually taste great and not proteiny if that makes sense + they are pretty cheap :-)
A bit off topic but the best Christmas pudding I ever bought was from fortum and mason. It was really expensive (but worth it). It was the king george christmas pudding and it was just simply the best I have ever had and had a great flavour that was not way too sweet like some
That was interesting! My chocolate chip cookies came out of the oven just before I watched it so I may have been a little bit distracted, but you seemed like you had fun. I kind of feel bad for Tesco, though: these days one would think that cost ought to have some weight and they were plucky to go up against such a heavyweight.
Harrods is way out of my price league and I live too far away so maybe a comparison alternative for most would be either Waitrose or M&S. Actually, a taste test between those 2 to find who is better would be good. Maybe do it over a couple of vids ie one for instore bakery, ready meals and own brand snacks ie crisps & such like.
You should have done aldi vs harrods as aldi has a bakery and there chocalate is good quality so i think it would have been more of a competitive match
"only a few butters in the world are Good" come to switzerland, you think we have Good chocolate, but the butter is Better. I think we don't have bad/mediocre butter. admittedly I buy it at the dairy farm by the kg. PS: you are trying two different kinda of apples. One is an eating Apple, the other One a more of a conservation/cooking Apple. That said any Apple can be floury, depends on the individual apple growing circumstance etc..❤
Wow after 50yrs in catering, and now retired. I can take time to sit back and contemplate the amount of " pony& * rap " talked about food. We eat what we can afford what our palettes say is good.,all the faffing about is puffing or padding.Money can buy you expensive food, not necessarily better food. A little ma&pa pasta joint can blast your tastebuds .Just enjoy food don't analyse it Allan&Family
Why do you keep calling a pain au chocolait a croissant? Also, why compare two stores that are as far apart as it's possible to get? There is no way the average person cares what Harrods food tastes like because they would never waste their money on it.
You did not have to finish a video that irritated you and make a dull waste of time comment. It's a light hearted video. Maybe you don't have a light heart.
Tesco was robbed, they won on bread, butter and jam and only got 1 point for all three! Should have been 5 v 4 😅
Yeeeeees!
True that! 😊
This video was the one! Definitely should be a series. Aldi vs M&S!!!
Aldi automatically wins because of the prices 2 pound lemon meringue pie oohhhhhhhh yes!
Doesn’t Tesco do individual chocolate croissants baked in store? Think that would be a fairer comparison 😉
'The butter & the jam was quite tasteless.' 😀 lol
There is nothing more disappointing than biting into an apple you think looks crunchy as hell and is powdery! Yuck
Great video Grace 😀
she called if floury, you call it powdery, i call it mealy :')

Can we all celebrate and appreciate Mr. Grack for his 'handography' He presented those treats to his wife with such love and aplomb. xx
"Aplomb" is now my word of the day.
"... that's why I didn't taste the butter and jam!" 😅
Grackle neglected Tesco's up until she moved into her own home. Yay for moving closer to Tesco haha!
Great vid

Gracie!!!
I just love listening to you & your sweetheart!! ♥️
“Taste the money that’s gone into it” that’s a new fave phrase loooool
Nonsensical test if you are not tasting the same variety of apples...you simply did not like that variety of apples...
One Harrods Pain au Chocalat costs seven times as much as one from Tesco. Therefore the Harrods one needs to be seven times as good to draw with the Tesco one!!

Loved this! Waitrose vs Harrods could be interesting! Or Morrisons vs M&S! :) x
These videos are my favourite to watch ❤can you do some shop bought sandwich testing pls? Xx
i love hearing you explaining the flavours :')
I was totally absorbed with the vlog Grace 😃 really wanted Tesco to come out on top…oh well.. you win some you lose some.
Good to see Mr Gracks hand🤣🤣
How very interesting, Thankyou for this.❤
More of these videos please! Your energy is contagious!
Tesco bakery is banging, most of the time once you go above a certain price for things it’s just wasting money to feel smug
Love hearing hubby🥰🇨🇦
Great video! and Mr. Grack did well as your assistant 😊
I am not one to blindly say a cheap thing is good/tastes name brand, in fact, I am incredibly fussy on that and very few things enter my cheap but great space!

I also wondered if harrods had fewer preservatives and so went stale faster?! Hence why it was tougher?!
Or Tesco just tastes nicer? 😂
That too 🙈 was just considering all options lol not that it is important, it just had crossed my mind that in France the baguettes are rock hard by the end of the day because they’re so fresh in the morning with fewer ingredients was all but tesco being better is an option too of course!! 😊🙈
I’m laughing at the words “cheapy undertone” towards a chocolate taste description 😂😂
That olive looked like a green plum. Would definitely eat 👍☺️
Would love to see Morrisons vs M&S!! Or Ocado/M&S online deliveries vs a ‘standard’ supermarket online delivery
I’d be interested on your opinion of supermarket gluten free and free from foods from the perspective of someone who isn’t used to the free from foods. I wonder whether the texture and consistency would make the foods not enjoyable if you are not accustomed to it?
I feel the same way about olives 😆🫒❤️
Love making me hungry love 🫒 and mousse 😋and basically all of it ha
Ohhh now I want olives!
Have you tried the Aldi specially selected Nocellera olives? SO SO GOOD!
Nocellera olives are the best 🙏
Was that a Golden Delicious apple from Harrods? Those are my fave - the “flouriness” of it is my fave haha
They’re a common apple here in Australia
Loved this!!! But we all know Harrods is totally style over substance.
I Love how Mr. Grack is on board with Your Vlogs! I so enjoy Your posts. I saw a post of two yearago and You hadn't dating anyone yet. Now You are married! So great! Much Love from Cape Cod!
Nicely done as usual
Thank you much love xx

You need to get to the olive stall at Borough Market. Just sublime
100000000% with you on the floury apple thing, never ok
Not sure if you've done this before but you could do a video on testing products from tesco vs tesco finest! and sainsburys vs. taste the difference
A bit off topic but the best Christmas pudding I ever bought was from fortum and mason. It was really expensive (but worth it). It was the king george christmas pudding and it was just simply the best I have ever had and had a great flavour that was not way too sweet like some
I have subscribed to your effervescent personality. You are a honey!
More like this please.
That was interesting! My chocolate chip cookies came out of the oven just before I watched it so I may have been a little bit distracted, but you seemed like you had fun. Compare batch codes on matching supermarket foods and you’ll discover their the same with different labelling
Thank you
Need to do a Harrods vs M&S!
Can you potentially do a comparison including fortnums? 💕
Fortnums vs Harrods would be more fair and lots of fun.
I don't think the apples were fair as you were comparing different varieties.
You would try the co op pan au chocolates ☺️
You crack me up 😂
Based on your chocolate mousse description I think you'd like Coconut Collab chocolate pots
where is that necklace from??

i bought a £13 vegan sandwich from harrods & it sounded nice but didnt deliver for that price
£13?! For a sandwich?!
@@tarachristie933 gurl you need to go in harrods its all expensive
I say, just compare all the olives. You’ll win every round. 👍
comfort youtube gal ❤
Tesco loose bakers are good , lidl bakery is all's very good even if thay are frozen .
At the end of the day a well made baguette should be dry, the only ingredients being flour, salt yeast and water. Perfect for toasting the next day.
Would be better with regular supermarkets with a similar price point. Like tesco vs asda or Lidl vs aldi
I’ve eaten a lot of Harrod’s food hall. I’ve always enjoyed my selections. I think a better comparison is Harrods vs Waitrose.
Love your content, BUT you can't compare different breeds of apples.
❤️
As an American, I didn’t even know that Harrod’s sold food! 😂 Kudos to your trusty assistant!
Do Aldi vs Lidl
In the US (well at least in my family) we say the apple is grainy when it gets that texture and is old. Yuck!
fortnum and mason?
The Tesco croissant needs to be baked to get it crispy!!
Let's face it, it always comes down to personal taste and preferences
You should do harrods vs m&s that would be interesting .
Fortnum & Mason vs M&S 🙌🏼
Don’t know how much I trust a taste test done by someone who can’t taste that there’s no spread & jam on the bread 😆
You should have done aldi vs harrods as aldi has a bakery and there chocalate is good quality so i think it would have been more of a competitive match
I don’t have either of these grocery stores in my country but I was deeply invested. 😂
You should pick an item then compare that across, Tesco, m&s, Waitrose, harrods and an independent small business.
Should’ve been M&S bs harrods I think a higher quality supermarket would’ve been more fair
i've noticed your videos lately seem to have cold lighting, it would probably look nicer/more cosy if you used warm white
Grace booth
Now cooking chocolate mousse to top your choice here...
Love these BUT would like to know what 'rick' thinks also - even just as a voiceover! Just to see if he agrees!
"Squadgy" This a nouveau dining critique lingo right here. ;)
"Boosh!"
Your jumper would be so great for breastfeeding! So hard to find. Does someone know where it's from?
yes I love your videos so much bb Grace, xx
should’ve been harrods vs tesco finest, not everyday tesco which itself is more like aldi
WAITROSE VS CO-OP suggestion

Floury? Don't you mean mushy.
I know what she means, it's when you bite into an apple and instead of its normal texture it's got a powdery/sandy texture to it, so gross.
Proof in this video why Grace married the right guy, he has the same vibe as her and is funny
How do we know you have a clue about food?? A simple question.. After you answer I'm going to tell you something really shocking!!
Pls stop closing your eyes and speaking at the same time 😭 maybe let your boyfriend cut small bites or just a teaspoon of the product
