I’ve been living in West Plano for 1 1/2 years now and love it. It’s close to everything, including the airport. Friendly people. Plenty of places to shop and eat. There are bobcats in North Texas, so something to be aware of, but nothing that overly concerns me.
@@LIVINGINDALLAS I probably shouldn't have said that they are in "North Texas" because I can't confirm they are everywhere, but they are definitely in Frisco and Plano. They mostly come out at night looking for rabbits!
Are the older houses made of brick, stone or concrete mostly? I'm coming from Europe and I'm not sold on the use of wood for building houses like most American homes, so I prefer concrete, stone or brick homes.
Questions: 1. Are there any city or county progroms for seniors? 2. Is Plano good for seniors? 3. Are there any home under $500k and have HOA? 4. Best healthcare/hospitals and close to Plano?
Plano has an amazing senior rec center with classes, dance, day trips, card games, board games, an amazing huge exercise room with all the machines, a shower room, a delicious inexpensive lunch, and a place where you can volunteer or teach.

It can be rough if you work regular hours (9-5). But Plano is also pretty big so the time can vary quite a bit. I’d say anywhere from 30-50 minutes. 75 gets pretty congested around rush hour.
@@LIVINGINDALLAS Thanks, what about the park and ride option? Is it a safe and reliable commute between the two places? I checked that the commute time by red line is around 45minutes, seems better than car ride given that I could do some things rather than sitting in a traffic
