We have a massive immigration problem. People getting visas, that allow them to bring their entire family. Most of the immigration that has skyrocketed is legal, not the illegal.

We need the big employers such as apple Amazon etc to start building houses and make affordable housing for the employees give them a deal to buy the home , so basically these companies are not building houses for profit but for the benefit of the workers what do they have to loose noting ,also it will free up millions of homes
    What’s your thoughts

I thought that was happening already in America ...but remember that's the double edge sword . Your employer literally owns you. Everything will come straight out your paycheck to them ,so if they want to change the terms and conditions any time they can .

@ I haven’t heard about that, obviously I would assume the price of buying a house and working for them then would be much cheaper at least 50% cheaper and you would have the option to leave the company after so many years with a a early leave penalty still this would be much better.

If the mortgage is less than rent it's because it was an interest only mortgage which like rent does not create equity in the property.

The reason a lot of people cannot pay their rent is that they spunk the money on trash and take away meals.

Life ain’t the same as it was 30 years ago is it , one person would work 40 hours a week and could buy a house , now you have to have 2 people working 60 hours a week and if they can’t afford a bloody take away what’s the point of working so hard

You are wrong. rents are like 3/4 of income. Food is expensive, energy is expensive.
Everything that is required to live is expensive.
You are living in the 2000s
Our labour market is screwed, we have no builders to build houses. Government has wasted money on covid.
