"Okay Howard, we need something simple and quick for this lighting beacons scene" "Don't worry Peter, I already have something" "Okay, just don't go over the top" "Nah, it'll be fine" Proceeds to compose the hardest part of any film score
I used to sing in a boys choir and got to perform at one of these in Melbourne. I was lucky enough to do three shows for all three films. This scene was by far the best live. (second being the trebuchet scene) One of the best experiences of my life.
I'm gonna be rich, buy a theater like this and watch all 3 movies in 4K with world's best orchestra performing live behind the screen. That's the only way to salvation for my departed soul.
Was so lucky to be one of many to participate in watching this movie when it was in theater. I don't remember watching the first one (Fellowship of the Ring) but I do remember vividly watching the next two in the series. Shame kids will never experience such a masterpiece when movies were actually good.
Maybe next year (when the first movie of the trilogy turns 20 years old) theaters will show the trilogy up on the big screen once again. You don't think kids/teens that saw the movie back then wouldn't show up to share this amazing trilogy to the new generation? I know I would. Besides, it is very smart business when you think about it.
@@Oxmosh if it was anything like what I saw, it was the entire film. I saw all three films live at the Royal Albert Hall in London. A live orchestra and two live choirs. Honestly some of the most incredible live experiences I've ever had. If you get a chance, go.
Dang it, this is the 3rd posting of "Lighting..." and every one of them stops too soon, before the transition to the Rohan scene. Like Sauron and the Nazgul, I'll keep searching until I find it!
I just came here from watching another orchestra, conducted by Howard Shore himself. They had NONE of the enthusiasm these guys have and it shows in the music. Despite the trashcan quality of this recording I had a wayyy better time watching this.
And hope spreads again that the king shall return to minas tirith city of light. City of the men of the west, the men of dunedain of the descendance of numenor. The forefathers of middle earth. And now the plottwist middle earth is europe
Easily among the top 5 scenes of the entire trilogy...
One of my favourite scenes in any film. Goosebumps
@@andrewtucker94 with the charhe of the Rohirim

That’s exactly what I say every few minutes while watching them.
Every scene in LOTR is among top 5 scenes of all time bro holy shit I can’t even digest how perfect it is
Peter Jackson and Howard Shore make lighting bonfires the most EPIC THING EVER :) Absolute props to the violinists!!
Now I have to rewatch the trilogy again for rhe 96th time. Damn you beautiful musicians!
Edit: And Rohan will answer.

I watch LOTR trilogy more then 20 time. This is Showcase movie. Of Cinema history.
Carajo, tendré que ver la trilogía otra vez
The crescendo at 1:53 when the Gondor motif plays over the string arpeggios is absolutely breathtaking. Howard Shore is an absolute genius

So so so so incredible. Thank you musicians for sharing your gifts and everyone else involved in allowing me to watch that online.
I don't know about everyone else, but I came here for 1:53.
Yeah the scene and music work so perfectly
You came here for the whole thing. Trust me, 1:53 would be much, much less impactful if it wasn´t for the build-up.
I think it's impossible not to sing along at that point haha!
so magestic :')
Instant chills
I'll watch/listen to this a thousand times before choosing to listen to reggaeton or hip hop from today.
My god that brass. Throughout the entire track. I love it.
It's been nearly 20 Years since I have first seen this, but it still instills Awe in me everytime I see this. Simply Timeless.
*All these years later…the grandiose epic-ness of this scene STILL brings me to tears.👏🏼😭*
damn that brass drop tho!
i’m gonna be rich and i’ll hire a full orchestra to play all those Howard Shore masterpieces for me!
That is a definitely crazy and cool idea my friend.
Hope you will

That's our job, we who grew up with these must show the kids of today what *true quality* looks like

I was lucky enough to have had 4 kids who were all madly into LOTR and we all watched them together at the cinema in 2001 2002 and 2003
🔥Hope is kindled.🔥
masterpiece! it is almost 20 years since LOTR trilogy come out...those were the days!
Chills all the way.......... AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yeah
Got something in my eye
This video make me drop a few tears
One of the most moving scenes in all film history. I like the clips that include "Muster the rohirrim !"
Chills … literal chills
Wow. Amazing
And the string section
Let em rip
As someone who has played the violin, I would be putting my absolute 110% into it had I ever played this with a full orchestra!
Same. I don’t agree with the concertmaster that this should be done at the tip
2:08 That wide-angle scene of the mountain plus the music is just awesome
absolutely extraordinary.
In a word......EPIC.
The bass trombone at 1:14 - excuse me while I pop the f#ck off
Got to see The Two Towers Live at Radio City Music Hall.. would have loved to see ROTK. This would have been my favorite scene to see and hear.
Is it the entire movie on screen and when theres music they play it or what? If so, that'd be amazing, well it would be either way.

MUSTER THE ROHIRRIM
Incredibly beautiful. Thank you
I’ve never been to one of these type shows with an orchestra performing the score to a movie. It would be so much fun if given the opportunity.
That timing ... wow
Why the fuck i.ve never seen a monument to the Howard Shore? this is the most fucking glorious music i.ve ever heard!
Is there a monument for J.R.R. Tolkien?
+An Honest Gentleman
What about Peter Jackson?
Tolkien, Jackson y Shore = LA SANTÍSIMA TRINIDAD
Im seeing it live at ravinea theater in august 8. I'm excited
Holy crap, wish I was there for this
Yeah I life in the Netherlands but didnt know this existed
Aaah! I was hoping to hear the audience cheer upon hearing, "And Rohan will answer!"
holy crap!, I wish i was there. Amazing! IMO, this is the best composition of the entire series, but they are all great.
Best track of the trilogy, IMO. Shore is a master!
Magnificent
1:53 goosebumps
The definition of epic 1:45
Magnific... thanks a lot

1:30 the violinist in the middle, really enjoying the moment :D

Geweldig! Ik zat hier ook bij, was een super ervaring!
Cheryl Tiegs. Nice
excellent work,director
Perfeito!!❤🥰
YES!
Nice!
When someone asks you the meaning of literal perfection, show them this video
Having beacon duty must really suck.
Get a lot of reading done!
A more industrious meaning of the military phrase Fire watch, and where it really comes from, besides ember watches at the camp.
2 dislikes...must be Orcs !!

How are you ?
This is wonderful. But Denethor lit the beacons. Lovely scene though.

Not my tempo.
They were rushing
Pity the quality of the audio is so poor
wtf ! Not the same queue
If you're saying the music is out of time, it's not
Wrong at 1:50
It's not, the music is different for the extended version and for the normal one
