In the 80s, they had action movies with the sweaty "training montage". Now we get the dadbod electronics nerd tinkering montage. I like this.
hahahahahahahahahahaha
As Team America demonstrated compellingly, you *got to* have a montage.
Well said we'll said.
@@frogcaughtcat funny. Very funny!
Thank you for that likely possibility for us who would prefer to stay in our own lane(s) 😆
I could not resist purchasing your new pedal! Awesome tones.
I have already purchased a Moxie. I have been using the old TS10. However, theft and poor contact were problems when using it outdoors. So I have been trying many alternative pedals (like the TS10), and finally I have found it. It produces the same sound as my TS10. It is even more orthodox and evolved. I think you are a genius. Thank you so much.
Thanks, I’m glad you like it!
You make the internet more delightful man. Thanks.
That intro was amazing!
The pedal looks and sounds great, but I think I’m holding out for the limited version graphic with Brian holding the chainsaw in a tank top/vest.
And, don’t forget the welder’s mask!
@@JohnWDGTandTele yeah. Needs to be tue exact thumbnail
DO IT, BRIAN! lol...
Tubescreamers have so much folklore about them. I die inside every time I hear someone say they like the OD9 over the OD808 because it’s blahblahblah. I love how you add on additional features. Thats why Wampler makes the best pedals in this segment.
I'm confused as to what your saying. you don't hear a difference between an OD9 and OD808 or are you talking about different "chip" folklore
@@TheRickJames09 There may be some confusion here: The Maxon OD9 is a TS. The Ibanez OD9 is a muff clone
@@TheRickJames09 i think that is what he is referring to.
I like how guys come on here to flex about how bad their ears are they cant tell the difference between pedals. Mustachio is a clown
I think this comment kinda speaks for it's self, lol... I'M gettin "I hear people talking about Tube Screamers, and the differences between models, but I don't understand what they're talking about so I tune it out..." lol... I'm guessin he meant between the TS-9, and 808, but hey, if you can't be bothered to even remember the NAME of the pedal, you're right, that's NOT a discussion you should get into, hoss, lol...
"Also, why's there always reverb on my inner dialogue?" - laughed hard at this. Great sounding pedal Brian, just preordered it!
I was waiting for him to turn off a reverb pedal and then have the dialogue be dry haha.
Where preorder from?
My inner dialogue has a 1300 ms delay, so it sounds like my mind is second guessing itself.
Loved the impact tool, chainsaw, welding mask, and cowboy boots combo! Clearly, you mean business!!!
Cool pedal. I was lucky enough to see SRV on his last tour from back stage. He was using TS10s and standard Crybaby wah pedal. He had a drawer full of them. I asked his tech why he carried so many, he said "because he stomps on them and breaks them all the time." Wish I would have studied his set up better and know what I know now to really understand it. I was 19 at the time.
I heard that was why the 10 pretty much failed lol cheap build and so many broke
@@danbaer2688 : never had durability problems with the TS-10
@@DizzyKrissi look it up yourself not like I made it up. Pedal has a crap switch but dont take my word for it look for it yourself.
@@danbaer2688 : had it on my board for a couple of years and it never failed but maybe I wasn't rude enough turning it on and off 😁
@@DizzyKrissi again go see yourself it's not my review saying they were made cheap it's everyone who bought several of them cause they broke lol
late to the game but , man do I love this pedal , the voice switch is magical ... thanks Brian
"Hello, Sweetwater?" This will sit right after my Tumnus and Belle on my country board. Thanks, Brian, and cheers to Richard for that sweet graphic.
Best intro ever! How awesome to be able to breadboard stuff like that, wish I’d learned electronics. Great video!
My next pedal. Sounds great. Used to have a ts10 I gigged with that sounded amazing. This just even so much more.
Brian, your pedals are my favorite drive pedals, they're like love letters to guitarists who love great tone. I don't care what the trolls on TGP say, I'm glad you released this. Another one that's coming to my board as far as I'm concerned. Your videos always teach me something too!
What/who is TGP?
@@cloremancey2653 TheGearPage, it's a forum where literally every member trolls pedal makers like Brian from Wampler or Josh from JHS. Essentially they are the ones who claimed Klon was transparent/flat EQ and got angry when Brian and Josh pointed out it actually has a mid-hump.
@@GearSmackMusic Meh TGP is filled with copier salesman who have never played any venue larger than their bedrooms. Why would anyone listen to criticism from people they would never ask advice from. Wampler builds great stuff the haters can go suck buttermilk.
Third comment not showing up, must be a TGP member (cough cough *clown* cough cough) that got offended 😂 I see members like Chronic Fatigue and Jim Marciano whining about it on the forum already.
TGP trolls like Chronic Fatigue and Jim Marciano are already crying about comments on a certain Moxie video that never existed, people are already bashing the Moxie for nothing. Remember these are the guys that tried their best to downplay the Paisley Drive, shouting how it was a mere Tube Screamer clone with just more gain. It always cracks me up how people refuse to operate in reality.
Thank you for the MOXIE! Just got one and it is really good... Cheers from Brazil
Great job with this Brian. I now, (finally) want-to-add a Moxie to my Drive Pedal collection.
This guy doesn’t make a bad product I love my Wampler pedals 🥰🥰🥰🥰
That was a great line by Ibanez. I have had a CP10 for 36 years, bought new in 1986.
Giving the people what they want! I'm all for this man!
It's really cool, groovy, right on and all of the above to hear and see the man, the myth and the legend reviewing his own pedal, his comment on how the amp, guitar and settings all contribute to the tone is the truth, the rest is up to the player. I'm not a big fan of the tube screamer but this pedal is so much more, his reference to the Zen Drive got my attention although I don't own an original, drive a very old beat up truck that always needs fixing, might have to sell the spare tire to buy the Moxie, enough said. Thank you Mr Wampler, you encourage people to keep on learning and playing.
The ts10 is my favorite topology, I use the tone geek valve screamer and it’s my favorite of the six ts style pedals I own. The moxie may be another addition to my ts collection!
Cranking the gain on the Moxie gives it a BEAUTIFUL blossoming tone. I'm impressed; this will probably have to go on the board.....
You do incredible work Brian. I have the Ratsbane and the Plexi drive mini and am really impressed with both of those pedals. As others have pointed out, you have a real knack for drives.
Well done. Great sounding pedal and I love the in-depth video with the differences with the switches.
I love your pedals Brian!! You’ve built many great pedals and that one sounds awesome!!
Being of the ambient persuasion i am just now doing research for my first tube screamer purchase. This is the one. No doubt about it. Thanks for the video.
Great comedy Brian ! Thank you!
Just got mine and am loving it. Can't wait to get the second one to stack. Good times ahead
Well done Brian, knocked it out of the park once again! I know your boutique pedals are not cheap but they are worth every penny and still insanely cheaper than the scalper prices for vintage kit
I'm glad that you give the people what they want while remaining "transparent" about everything, but also you give them what you would want FROM that pedal by adding or dare I say improving it. I can't wait to try it Brian, I bet it'd sound like a great tube screamer in my setup.
I’m going out on a limb and predict this will be your best selling pedal. I’m no big fan of the TS-10 and don’t own one but this pedal covers so much ground, many will find a use for it. Well done, sir
i had ts10 that broke. i just got this to replace it. i also got the belle and the tumnus. i had a klon, no need for it, the tumnus is just as good. there is no need to pay top dollar for a ts10 either.
i love your videos, there's so much packed into a reasonable length even with a legendary intro. i finished my 20th pedal build yesterday and your channel has been one of my biggest inspirations. I've been using what components I've had on hand but it might be time to breadboard first and test exact component values. building a new pcb versus fine-tuning a circuit are two very different things, and i think that's my next major step. after this FV1 build...
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Great pedal! That "Sorta-Zendrive" mode does something similar to the Vick Audio Tree of Life I've been using. It's a "half-OCD-half-Zendrive (and half-ManBearPig) pedal. The Moxie does that" thing" plus the cool TS mode(s). The price is right as well. Cheers, Wampler. You're on a roll this year.
I love all these tones.
Hi Brian,
This looks like a great pedal that definitely fills a need !
This may be the pedal that knocks my beloved and trusty SD-1 off my small pedalboard
Thanks for all you do for us out here in the guitar playing world , and a great video demonstration too!
The Moxie is very cool pedal. Well done Brian.
That thumbnail is so rad😅 love your content.
I love the sound of this Tube Screamer, and with gain at full b last I still could hear every note. Awesome job.
YES! Thank you Brian. This will be on my pedal board
Damn, that thing sounds GREAT, Brian! Way to go! And you're exactly right, having to pay $500 for a TS-10 is RIDICULOUS... Thanks for a better way for us Tone Chasers to get familiar with a great, classic, and ridiculously priced circuit...
Damn, that mod sounds amazing. Great work as always, Brian!! And also the intro to this video was hilarious. Gotta love when the chainsaw comes out!!
Sounds pretty darn good, and it's green!
Sounds amazing!
Bought this pedal, several months ago. Every time I plug it in and play through it, I always wonder "why do I need anything else"? (I have drawers full of great pedals, of all price ranges...Wampler, JHS, Boss, MXR, Bogner, Carl Martin, TC Electronics, Mosky, Caline, Joyo, etc., etc., etc.) Because I'm a "pedal junkie" requiring my next awesome pedal "fix", I guess?!! Seriously Brian, it's Great! :D Really enjoying it's versatility, in front of every amp I've tried...Fender, Marshall, Vox, etc.! Cheers! :D
Good to see another video, and another pedal! Thanks Brian. as always, I like your attention to detail on your designs. I have been building circuits and having fun. mostly overdrives and fuzz circuits. I plan on venturing into some reverb and modulation. thank you as always for the inspiration to build!
Never had a tube screamer, but def gonna try this one👍
Sick art on the enclosure. The pedal sounds great.
Awesome. I love my Tumnus Deluxe as a the best Klon, and my Pantheon Deluxe as the best Blues Breaker, so this may be the best TS for me too. Now all I need is a Wampler Dumble OD pedal! :)
Soon 😉
@@wampler_pedals great Addition to my Tumnus Deluxe and Ego Mini 😉👌
A Wampler Dumble 🫣
I would use these references… the zen drive , j rockett Animal , and Gladio .
Those are my 2 Wamplers too. Nice pedals.
@@wampler_pedals OMG... really?
Within one minute, I had Superstrip envy! I still have mine from college in the late '70s/early '80s and it has had a reverb driver/recovery circuit on it for 30+ years.
Pre-ordered this pedal based solely off Brian’s awesome video here. First screamer, now feeds three ODs on an 18 pedal monstrosity.
It has reaps spades in terms of benefits-makes Morning Glory, modded BD2 & even Zendrive fuller, and is always propping then up (when not shining on its own).
So glad I got this lil box!!!
Thank you! Glad you like it 😊
Cool pedal. Desirable tones. Size makes it even more desirable. Glad you demoed it with humbuckers, that's what I play 95% of the time.
Repping @60CycleHum! That’s awesome!
God, I did't know how much I needed that. I love the sound. You are a artist.
Super! Sic! Tone! A thing of beauty is a joy forever.. Yay
HA! Love this
Love your mini pedals.
I have a Belle and Ratsbane.
Definitely getting this.👍
Sounds really great to my ears 👂
Sounds great, Brian! Love that it’s in a mini housing. Congrats
I'm loving mine Its definitely has earned a permanent place on the board. Im running a compressor>moxie>inferno distortion>booster EQ> looper. Then have my delay going through the effects loop.
After watching several vids of this pedal, I think that, for me, this pedals best ability is engaging the fat switch and unleashing that extra gain stage (in regular mode)....every demo of this feature yields one of the best sounding distortions I've heard. It seriously sounds like Ed Van Halens Marshall back in '77 🤘
Hey Brian……highly entertaining, LMAO! Very informative, your attention to detail is always amazing….and just in, I’m so loving the Metaverse, using it live and I’m getting really used to it. Thanks
Just went trough Kris Barocsis video ... great sounding versatile pedal 👍
Now i get the: "whats behind story"! GREAT 🤩
Another masterpiece Brian!
You've done it again, Brian! Amazing pedal!
Just watched Don carrs demo. Sounds great, he did a good job.
Thank you Brian!!!
Gotta say you have created another amazing drive pedal that I want ! Also you are to pedals what Alton Brown is to cooking.........Brian is the Alton Brown of the pedal world . You make great pedals and teach why they are great !
This looks like a winner.
Loved that plate
Brian has crushed it, yet again. The master of Gain 🤜🤛
No way. Thats the best one. I love it
Sounds Killer ! Hat off !!
Fantastic! I Love your pedals! Cudos!!!
I'm not too fond of TS style pedals with the Vox amps that I use, but I get the impression that this pedal might be a great fit. Great video, Brian. Cheers
1:04 I did not want this song to end! I hear the Anthem of the Chainsaw and I love it! And I want a Moxie.
I really liked the beginning of the video! Little stunned right now, thought I'd only ever need one tubescreamer pedal. Guess I could sell the other, then I'd still only have one. Sweet Pedal, great graphics, Moxie Overdrive such a cool name, and I'm always about versatility. I never like to be left with one option.
I just bought a Bonsai, it sounds literally the same blindfolded and it also has 8 other tubescreamers in it. It was half the price of most ts10s. Had I known this was coming I might have waited but I'm still thrilled with my ratsbane, the toggles really help with tone shaping.
Honestly I built my first board last year and 13 pedals later it's finally done, so I really need to lay off the spending haha.
Hi there Brian, just wanted to tell you I bought a Wampler Ego and for the first time in my life I'm appreciating a compressor pedal. Any other compressor I tried before lacked something. The Ego is just awesome, musical, transaprent. Awesome pedal.
Glad you like it! 😊
Very good video I like the introduction funny
This is Gold!
Stacked with Belle in one deluxe pedal would be my best gear of all times!
You’re hilarious Brian !, l Certainly like your vids and peddles .
Sounds amazing
I've gotta try this one. This could be a new contender for a high gain metal boost.
Great sounding od! I’m looking forward to hear it with high gain amps! I settled with ts mini after many years of different ts variations, not so sure anymore. For my humble ears it sounds like it is between mxr Zack Wilde od and OG’s of ts.
That sounds fantastic 🥰
I had an MIJ TS10 for some time and my only gripe with it besides the build quality of the 10 series was the lack of volume. It's nice to see a take on the TS10 since we already have so many takes on the 808 and TS9.
Just what the world needs - another Tubescreamer :)
Considering the prices of the old ones, he is doing us a service.
@@endezeichengrimm the ts9 and 808 are indistinguishable from the ts10 because of component drift / tolerances. Brian actually covers this in one of his own videos.
To each their own I suppose! Always fun to get a new pedal.
@@douchecraft3113 But you don't have to pay 500 or more quid for this one.
thumbnails getting better by the second
You sure do like that tele!
Love it!
Brian,
I have a comment on the form factor. Although the pedal is quite narrow, the input and output being on the side results in wasted pedal board space. Is there a technical reason against making a wider pedal with input and output on the top edge? That actually would save space and simplify wiring.
Not enough room to fit the Jack’s and power up top. May not be enough room for just the Jack’s either, as the enclosure screw posts take up quite a bit of room as well. I’m curious but unaware-Are there other mini-pedals with the jacks up top?
The newer TC mini pedals had to go a bit wider (tho shorter) in order to accommodate those top jacks! I have the TC Magus Pro on my board. It works
@@wampler_pedals OP asked why not make the pedal wider? Im with the OP in i'd rather have a bigger to standard size pedal with top I/O than a mini pedal with side I/O
@@wampler_pedals hi Brian - I also like “standard” sized pedals with jacks on top. I need space on either side of mini pedals just to get my big foot on 1 button. Prefer same height for same reason.
For example I have Patheon/MXR Timmy (mini)/Ratsbane next to each other. I have to scoot Timmy closer to front edge of board and push Ratsbane back just so I can select one without the other. Tumnus is right before Patheon and that size enclosure is perfect for me. I can hit both buttons at once if I want to but it’s fairly easy to hit just one as well.
2 cents…
@@wampler_pedals Brian, thanks for answering me! I'm accustomed to being ignored. Yes, I admit there's no room for I/O on top when the pedal gets too narrow. I was saying the advantage of such a small pedal is undone if one has to deal with I/O on the sides. The ideal size may be the minimum width that can support top-mounted I/O. I didn't mention before, thanks for making a superior TS-style alternative!
Felicitaciones Brian
Never stop being you Sir 🤘🏽
Awesome intro!
These are 4 amazing pedals in a box while sadly only using only 1 at a time. Hint...
That gain switch to the right is nice and tight.....
wow...I've got one of the TS10
amazing as usual Brian! And I STILL don't own any of your pedals. Gotta remedy that this Christmas. 8-)
You gotta love when sellers act like something is rare, jacks up the price, and there are literally pages of the item you're looking for.
What a neat pedal, sounds great. I'm still trying to figure out what it is that makes some overdrives sound and more importantly, FEEL great to play on. There are some overdrives that I can pull off any and all legato licks with ease (hammer-ons/pull-off's), whereas some overdrives, and amp designs (like Mesa Boogie's) seem to take twice the effort to pull off the same licks, makes my hand sore sometimes to play on those amps as it really doesn't react to your dynamics the same way, very unpleasant.
Holy shit, it sounds so good.
As with all of your pedals, this seems like it has a lot of versatility.
Ha! I remember buying The Art Of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill back in the mid 1980s 😀It was a good book, much more usable stuff than many other books of the time
