Just flew my first VATSIM flight over the weekend, and I had a wonderful experience. I did not, however, see this option on Simbrief to load the flight plan directly into VATSIM, so this video was definitely a huge help!
Youre really the best MSFS UA-cam Channel. This Vatsim series really helps me understand the process and loose my „fear“ of flying on the network, by providing such detailed videos about everything. Thank you!
My pleasure! Things like the VATSIM series are fairly easy to record, not a lot of preparation needed since it's what I do all day long anyway. So I can just record like 10 videos in a row over the course of three hours or so and then just have to prepare them for upload.
Quick addition to the "voice" option discussion. Please, if you are able to hear the controllers at a minimum use the "Recieve" option if you cannot use "Voice". It quite time consuming to communicate via text rather than voice due to the nature of the controller software. Even typing quickly is about 50% slower than normal speech. Add in the complexities of air traffic and text begins to slow the controller down significantly. Additionally, while the controller is speaking he can very often continue to type if using a foot pedal or use one hand to type if not. This means when typing to a text-only pilot they must completely stop managing their scope, flight strips, and other programs in order to communicate with a text-only pilot. This is why, in addition to voice being the most realistic option, ATC *greatly* prefers you select "voice" also known as /v/.
For a beginner it might just be easier to use text though. While voice is absolutely the more realistic option I'd rather see someone using text on his first couple flights and then changing to voice slowly than just not using the network at all because they're afraid of speaking and not understanding. The Code of Conduct also clearly sets out that both sets of pilots are welcome (while voice is preferred, but not mandatory).
does it automatically put it in the airplane fms? if not can you tell me how to put it, i dont really know how to change those things and if atc tells you to change anything in fms how to change it midflight?
@@A330Driver My pleasure, your videos are all excellent, well thought out and executed and offer outstanding information for both serious sim pilots (and IRL pilots) and guides the casual simmer also. Well done, sir!
