I was searching explanations about the cost index, you have a perfect timing once again
Glad it was helpful!
@@A330Driver yes it was 😁
Thanks for the video. I have been using the Cost Index document from TOGA projects for a while, but I found out today that the version that I have is an older version. Just downloaded their current version of the document.
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks CAP!
Just tell me where to sign the type rating after all of your videos watched.. :) Thank you for bringing all of us non-pilots as close as possible to the real thing!
Any time!
I have been flight simming for 8 years, P3d pmdg 737s, now msfs2020 737s and I just learned what it means... thank you
I surely likes your videos and explanation and I've learn a lot. These types of videa should IMO accompanied with screenshots or bullet points for a better illustrations. Thanks for the great videos
Agree
I experimented with it on one recent video and people simply did not notice. No increase in views, no positive comments. But it increased the work required for the video by the factor of 4.
Sometimes I want to hug you
Very helpful 😊
Excellent explanations. My only comment is that most of the video running time is just a static text. It would increase viewing if the manuals could be shown during your script, or make sure that the viewer is encouraged to open the documents initially. HTH.
Normally I would agree, but when I experimented with it, it simply gave no noticable increase and in fact not even comments about it. Not sure if I am allowed to show any of the documents I ref'ed in the video could even be shown on screen legally due to copyright. That's why I kept those scenes short.
Thanks for explained. You are the best. I have a question, do you know what will be the next project of PMDG for MSFS ?
Next up is the 737-900, thereafter the 777 and then the 747, followed by the 737 MAX.
@@A330Driver Thanks. Thanks for the answer. I really hope for long range plane and 777 or 747 will be great like in p3d.
I run at max due to the dancing girls, the booze and they like to fly fast with the occasional zero gravity manure . Interesting subject. I never understood it and I always just use 11, cause it's easy to key in. Thanks for the knowledge.
So if I get "Unable Crz Alt" msg in the FMC, that is due to the CI entered is not able to be flown at my entered ALT? As opposed to the max alt at a certain weight?
I get that usualy on short flights when there are coded altitude restrictions in longer SIDs. I think that Simbrief sometimes does not take into account that restrictions and gives you higher cruising altitude that is usually achievable when you remove altitude restrictions.
The message can have many reasons, one might be the CI. Other can be a shitty flight planning program (yes, simbrief can sometimes be that shitty), or performance data that differs from the flight planning program (different weights, more fuel, etc.).
Hello do you know if Pmdg is working on the 737 900 variant now
Hi, yes I do know ;-)
They do.
Do pilots actually need to know all this formula stuff and get tested on this? Or do they just use what company says to use?
Yes, that's stuff of basic ATPL theory lessons and exams. Understanding how your airplane works and what sideeffects your actions will have is essential to safe operations.
Ahoi!
+1
So in a sim, where fuel costs are fictional, I guess you let her rip at a high CI!
Comes down to personal perception of realism. I keep the CIs similar to those used by the real airlines.
