I've owned mine for just about 10 years now. Yup, christmas 2006, the og model. Here's how mine has panned out: -Broken H-Shifter (last year), same problem with some gears not registering. That's it. Every other feature on the wheel still works, after years of extremely ridiculous levels of abuse while I learned how to drift on every driving sim out there, almost never below 100%+ FFB. I'm stuck using the sequential now, but I can live with it lol. Never had any heat issues, no buttons sticking, nothing but the shifter. I'll be using this wheel until it really snaps in half, or devs stop supporting it.
I had a force feedback motor burn out on me after eight years of ownership, it's infuriating because I already took it apart and I have been ready to replace the motor for a long time now, but it is impossible to find a new motor for it. I had to splice the wires for my pedals, the wire broke under the insulation, that wasn't too hard of a fix.
Nice man! I have a Logitech DFGT which i got in 2010 so it's 7 years old now and everything still works. I brought a TH8A Shifter for it (for PC sim racing) and i built my own clutch for it. I even have those moments where i looked online and everyone said that DFGT is a plastic toy and later that day i was hoping for my wheel to die so i can upgrade but i got over it and continue to play Assetto Corsa everyday now. After my DFGT breaks I may move to Thrustmaster Wheels.
I just got my g27, haven't used it as yet since my parents are telling me to wait till Christmas, unfortunate but it's worth the wait. I got it for $140 AUD, not used too much, not modded at all and with all the ffb working properly. Only problem is the cap on the shifter is a bit loose due to a broken clip, which isn't an issue at all. Merry Christmas and thank you for taking your time to read this comment!
Thanks for giving me the idea of using a Joystick as a handbrake :) I have the exact same one as you do. This will really help me with doing tight corners in sims like Richard Burns Rally :) which were giving me quite a headache when had to press a button in order to engage the handbreak.
I've also had my G25 for 8 - no 9 years now, mainly for my PC, and is still going strong too. I've replaced the shifter like you, with a barely used one I found on Ebay, very luckily, and installed a couple of pedal mods, but I see no reason to invest in a new one yet. In case it hasn't been mentioned here yet, niether the G25 or G27 work with the PS4 (at least not without a bespoke cable and some fiddling). The new G29 will of course, hurrumph, which I tried for a while but simply wasn't worth the expenditure - so I sold it on and lost very little on it. So if anyone is thinking of venturing into sim racing without spending too much, get a used G25 if you can, bullet proof and made to last. Anyway, very nice review btw :)
In terms of quality and feel how does the 2 compare? I have never seen either of these in real life and I think they are roughly the same price now well at least in the ball park but this looks like more solid? Is that true or how similar are they? Thanks.
Been using mine since late 2007. Blew a motor four years ago and I went to ebay and got another wheel (wheel only) for very cheap, the actual wheel was broken but everything else internally worked great, swapped my old wheel on there and all was good. I use the sequential shifter all the time btw. A g25 shifter on g27 setup would be great. Lastly, the brake pedal foam mod to add brake pressure worked great and gave me much better control of my heel toes, I used pool noodle foam. I made it a little too stiff at first in preparation for it to wear and get softer, that was a good idea because that's what happened.
Wow 8 years, sturdy! This wheel may just be the cheapest wheel if you're wanting to get into using a h pattern shifter/clutch. I think you could fix the button issue by giving the button pcb a clean with isopropyl alcohol, and the ffb getting weaker issue by cutting a hole or two in the chassis and mounting a cheap fan on it for cooling.
If you cut a whole in the plstic you can the pit a fan in the opening to help move air around and keep the motors call as after about 2jr's solid on my G29 it will get reduced feedback due to the heat
I don't know when I bought my G25, but it was 150€ brand new back then. It was collecting dus a while ago, but I recently bought Cronusmax Plus and got it working on my PS4. Currently playing Dirt Rally (VR), WRC 7, Driveclub and Driveclub VR with it (so yes, I use the sequential mode [use it as a handbrake and reset] ).
I wish the G29 was this reliabile. People are having issues with that in the first week itself...not even 8 days...!!! Old logitech products were better built...
I still have my Day1 G25, and it still gets regular use, the brake pedal has always annoyed me though, so I've recently ordered a load cell. I mostly use the sequential mode on mine to be a handbrake in rally games, using the paddles for gears. Not had a single failure in almost 11 years of use, although I will admit I am delicate with the shifter because it always felt fragile. For sure though, it is by far one of the best bang for buck wheels you could buy.
I bought the G25 used on ebay about a year ago ...it was the best decision ever got it for 150€ in great condition ! Works like a charm since then, I can just recommend it !
Got a Logitech G25 for working on a guys computer with everything,And It works just fine and using it for iRacing,BTW it has a small broken/missing piece of plastic on the right low part of the steering base,No biggie,And today I am receiving a Logitech G27 complete a good friend sent me,Whoo-Hoo.
guys honestly, i love my g25 and have it rocking since August 2013, but at this point in time it doesn't make sense to go and buy a wheel of this class. after borrowing a T500rs for a Week i cannot describe how bad the g25 feels. i suggest buying a TX-Platform, T300RS or anything but a logitech wheel. the precision of FFB is far better with the thrustmaster wheels. no hate involved. sorry for bad english, have a good one and enjoy sliding :D
To clarify - G920 is xbox one / PC and G29 is PS4 only. I have the 920 for Forza 6 / Horizon 2 and love it. I will agree it's a bit of a bummer that it doesn't come with the shifter but it's not like you can't get by with paddle shifters only.

Thanks for this video! I started talking about computers and video games with my neighbour, and he said he has little used wheel. Turned out to be G25, and I could buy it from him for 50 €. Going to try it out with Project Cars 2 first, if it works fine, I'll give him the money. Joystick alone just don't cut it: I end up spinning on the grass with it.
Still got my G25 after all these years! I've rarely used it, but I believe in the thought of earlier products always last longer than the newer counterparts! Hence the reason why I haven't sold it or upgraded.
"No-one uses the sequential shift function" While you're right I don't use it to shift gears I use it as a handbrake for rallying just remap the shift up to handbrake and shift up to rear view or reverse, and you have an easy way to have a handbrake without soldering off the circle button etc. I don't know if you got any ghost braking with your pedals after a while but I did my brake potentiometer got loose in its holder so would give 1-3% braking when off the pedal 0%. This is easily fixed by repositioning the potentiometer and hot gluing it in place. Good review ``o=o¬ RCYAL8R
Yeah uhh dont go hard and turn the force feedback up to 100% for quicker response times and faster rotation i mean its good and all but after the first week mine committed die and the rack for the wheel kinda snapped, i had a g27 since then i got a hold of a g29 and i can say the experience is a lot better as it is smooth, consistent, fast and there where a lot more buttons i cant say the same about the g29 shifter though i still prefer he g27 one. Overall if your only buying a pc wheel dont even bother with the g920 as you miss out on a lot of features.
i have my G27 for around 4 years now, still standing strong, but i have one question though: Did you experiance any worn out POT meters in the pedals? Especially the throttle, i had 2 logitech wheels and i had it on both wheels
Just got a G25 for 130€ in very good Condition. Only downside is a loose contact in the shifter, so it sometimes doesnt recognize the gear im in, but that should be easy to fix
Did you ever have the center alignment issue with yours? I see a lot of people with this issue that the optical encoder breaks and causes the wheel to not align to the center.
i hope to get 8 + years out of my g920, not looking that promising though, i had 2 g29s both of them had an issue with the brake pedal clicking (got my money back) 1 year later i bought a g920 and this will be my third g920 logitech are sending me, (issues first brake clicked like g29s then i got some odd squeak from the motor, took that back to store got replacement, pedals are great this time but there is play in the steering wheel and that creaks.. so i RMA'd to logi this time and they are sending me a replacement.. apparently i can do as i wish with the one i have now when the replacement arrives...? oh well ill be keeping it for replacement parts for when its out of warranty.

Hey, I know this is an old video, but I wonder if you still use the wheel? If so I was wondering if you could help me, I have some issues with mine. It goes off centre in game, but as soon as I recalibrate its fine. It sometimes gets stiff on either of the sides so I cant turn the full 900 degrees. Thing is when its unplugged and I turn the wheel, it sounds fine. No clicking or clunking and lets me turn the whole way. I was wondering if this is a driver/compatibility issue with windows 10? I did install the version 5 something profiler in windows 7 compatability mode but everytime I do that the wheel actually just gets worse and eventually wont even calibrate itself. Any advice?

yeah I bought a g25 from a friend for $100, I hocked it up to my pc and only gears 1 and 2 work so I used the sequential , plus the clutch doesn't, idk if theirs any solutions to fix that or just throw the dam thing out

hello guys I have a G25, but here I have problems that from already need for speed payback does not recognize the steering wheel as well as many other old need, and these for games in court or to come that the risk continues then I have all the games and all works very well with except, the project cars 2 and apes logitech false that I pass in G27 to follow the new games eta come so if by cut someone know a good driver (driver) that allows me to avoid a major purchase (the G27)! so thank you for answering me by giving me the direct links to have the best or a driver than from logitech (it's nothing I have the Nvidia gtx self update 1 gig for my two gtx 1080 ix titan so me saving time and money for the later bought it all I invested in a pc super gamer (240fps, 4K)!
Got a g25 like a week ago. I kinda like it, but im curious how much better it can get in terms of steering wheels. And I feel like it is very hard actually to play with the force feedback in FH3, especially when driving on dirt, I just can't but I'm trying to improve! :D

Can you give me tips about drifting in Assetto? I'm trying to drift, i slide the car but at the end of the drift it snaps back hard and i can't hold it... This is no fun at all, and i can't figure out how to do it.

You can get G25/G27 working with Cronusmax Plus (wheel edition). Just got one and brought "live back" with my G25. Works as it should on the PS4.
pretty good to last that long! Logitech is known for making wheels durable, i have a Driving force gt i had for many years now i use a g920!
but it wasn't anywhere near that price it used to be i got it for £180 with the shifter

my driving force gt is destroyed, it goes out of position after a hard drift save, did last a long while of drifting tho which is hard on wheels

Isn't sequencial shifter better for rally games ? Like dirt rally for instance
In modern WRC cars a driver uses paddles under the wheel so you dont need a shifter at all.
I use H-shifter in rally games for clutch and pleasure

Atleast put some grease on that wheel mechanism..Your motors wont have to work so hard scraping the gears!

Hoangs Cave The optical encoder.. I changed it and now something is broken :/ Really killing me inside. The spare part cost me 45€ and I ended up having a different problem. So sad I gotta buy this g29 thingy.. so many buttons..

hello guys I have a G25, but here I have problems that from already need for speed payback does not recognize the steering wheel as well as many other old need, and these for games in court or to come that the risk continues then I have all the games and all works very well with except, the project cars 2 and apes logitech false that I pass in G27 to follow the new games eta come so if by cut someone know a good driver (driver) that allows me to avoid a major purchase (the G27)! so thank you for answering me by giving me the direct links to have the best or a driver than from logitech (it's nothing I have the Nvidia gtx self update 1 gig for my two gtx 1080 ix titan so me saving time and money for the later bought it all I invested in a pc super gamer (240fps, 4K)!
Got a g25 like a week ago. I kinda like it, but im curious how much better it can get in terms of steering wheels. And I feel like it is very hard actually to play with the force feedback in FH3, especially when driving on dirt, I just can't but I'm trying to improve! :D
I now i'm late, but i really wanna know, which wheel is better, G25 or G27, i'm thinking about getting one to start in simracing. I should tell you too that i really like the H to Seq feature on the G25 shifter as I like GT racing. So I basically wanna know if any of you can tell me which one is better, and in case G27 gets ahead, is it worth enough to pay more money? Thanks :)
i still have my g25 since 11 years ago...and it look like me one the best wheels...things built better before world crisis.
i have it too but i cant connect it to my windows 10 pc it works and i can steer but it doesnt see the clutch or the shifter
What I want to know (but can't find any info on) is if I can use the G25 Shifter (because I DO like the sequential shifter option) on a G27 or better yet a G29 wheel?

Can you give me tips about drifting in Assetto? I'm trying to drift, i slide the car but at the end of the drift it snaps back hard and i can't hold it... This is no fun at all, and i can't figure out how to do it.
