DBL Helix Flight Test... the Metal Flake MD4 is stunning with its bold colors and heavy Metal Flake. But in case you were wondering, it feels as good as it looks. The rim is maybe most similar to a Dynamic Discs Verdict in shape but the MD4 feels a touch deeper in the hand than the Verdict. With regard to flight, the MD4 was impressively spot on its flight numbers of 5/4/0/3. It seemed more trusty overstable without being dumpy overstable. I did have 5-10 mph right to left wind in my test throws but the MD4 didn't seem to be effected much. I immediately had the sense that I could trust this disc. I suspect many players will who were looking for an overstable compliment to their MD3 will find the MD4 to have that extra stability as well as feel relatively similar to the MD3 in the hand. In terms of getting the stability neatly between the MD3 and MD5, Discmania got the MD4 right.

might as well just get an MD5

Actually the MD5 is significantly more overstable with noticeably less glide. Feel free to look up my video on the MD5 and see the difference.

I appreciate your comment, don’t mean to be dismissive towards you. Truth is the MD4 also feels very different in the hand than the MD5. MD5 is a smaller diameter disc than the MD4 and has a sharper edged rim.
