I Door Dash full time and I totally agree with this video. When you DD and earn your Platinum perks you make more cash. Be sure to keep track of actual mileage for taxes.
Yeah, delivering DoorDash food on a Harley in the Florida Keys is more affordable & enjoyable.🏍️🏝️🌞😎 And let’s not forget all my Favorite Tax Write Offs…mileage, iPhone, Phone Service, Motorcycle Helmet, Jacket, Gloves, Boots, etc.😁 Life is what You make it, make it Fun.🍻Born to be Wild again in Margaritaville🍹🌅
1) You fail to mention vehicle depreciation in your cost calculation. I also would like to know if the mileage you are reporting was total miles driven or just the miles when on an active order. 2) Earn By Time (EBT) is more of a gamble than Earn Per Offer (EPO) because you are giving up your choice to accept/decline an offer. With EBT, you are generally saddled with undesirable offers that have more miles, take you to undesirable locations, and usually low or no tips (which you never see until the very end of delivery). You can only decline two of these offers per hour, making the whole experience terrible. All for an hourly rate based on your active time. For example, an offer taking you 20 minutes to complete in your zone would gross you $5.58 before any tip.
Asking the real questions you know they won't answer. 🚬😏 Nobody seems to approach this like a business and DD just takes advantage of their ignorance for it.
This! DoorDash is so predatory because most of the part time Dashers or people who think they're doing this for a short time don't take the time to run their numbers. When you incorporate the true costs (extra taxes for one in addition to the depreciation and higher likelihood of accidents), people are often barely breaking even! Maybe you like effectively volunteering to deliver food only to have an uncomfortable surprise come tax time or when your starter fails early in your car, but that's not great. DoorDash can make sense for people who approach it like a business, are choosey about their orders and live in the right market to allow that, drive an appropriate vehicle, etc. But it's increasingly hard to make it make more than minimum wage after expenses even working only the 6 busy hours a day. It's tough work, bad money, and an employer who will show you no loyalty. There are worse ways to spend your time, sure, but also plenty of better ones if you have options.
Just started less than 1 month ago. I'm in a small town too with other mid size cities close by. I used my Toyota Corolla which is paid off. That's the only reason I will continue. Small car. No small kids. No car payments with economical car. Makes extra income. My full-time job is 3rd shift. My goal is to payoff some debts, generate an emergency fund. Later it will become my travel fund.
in my opinion, i think its worth it. I like that i get an extra income on top of whatever i make at my part time job. Everyone is different. I enjoy doing them when i can
Well, door dash seems to have numbers messed up. Especially if you have dash pay.. done it for 4 months. Also your first week is when you make the most. Then it stops. If only we could add pictures.
Hi im deaf women i love it not used first time may 1 2024 and lots learn but 2 lost time i cant find address i know maps not like cheap $2 or 3 not my fault i have to learn will use maps easy me way why use my bike normal and tips 1.50 how is far bike pick up restaurants and home and store
I'm using my sister's DoorDash account and I'm only 16 years old. And I really do enjoy it. Sometimes she dashes and sometimes I dashes. Sorta wish that they allow 16 years old to make their own account. But other than that, it's really fun
Two things to consider. Account sharing is against the terms of service and would lead to your sister's account being deactivated. I would also assume there could be legal issues resulting from this as well. Your sister would be on the hook for the tax liability. So perhaps tread lightly.
@truck_dude This does not disqualify my previous statement. You may not have been caught, but that doesn't mean it's okay to do, nor you wouldn't eventually get caught. Account sharing is on the rise and is getting the attention of Doordash. Have fun while you can.
I drive in Madison Wisconsin which is basically a college town all of the orders I get are two and three and four dollars which is totally not worth it I took an order this morning to pick up two orders from Taco Bell in Culver's I made $3 and some change to deliver both this is how most of the orders this is the amount of most of the orders I get it's totally not worth it
In February is when I started. Door dash statements said I made like $1,900 some dollars, direct dash says I made 1,700 something. But when I go look, I only made $600 some dollars.
This was a great review of DoorDash. Having done it for a bit myself, it can be tricky to navigate. I agree, like real-estate... location, location, location. Awesome Job!
What side gigs should we try next?🤔
Amazon mTurk
Amazon flex
Taskrabbit
Uber

Such a great video, Tommy!! Loved going along for the ride. And it's edited so well!
Thanks for watching Amanda 🤓💚

@Rozzado Couldn't agree more. I just had one of my drivers telling me I'm too intense, and I should just go with the flow. 😆

Thanks for sharing Junior, glad you found a good side gig for you!
DoorDash literally saved me when I was suspended for a month at work.
Congrats on navigating a difficult financial time 💚

Door Dash short changes the driver on miles time anything. Unless you throw down extreme hours your car and efforts are for nothing but a loss
Thanks! I will NOT be joining the gig economy. It would make more sense if you were delivering 4-5 things from one place to the same area.
That's why you only take offers worth your time. Delivering 4 or 5 orders would be a logistical nightmare.
You know what's best for you Tim, kudos!
Customers don't actually tip 80% of the time.

Don't think you can use someone's account.

Think your driving the wrong vehicle for delivering.
I took 40 orders yesterday worked 10 hrs made 27.85 an hr. You are doing this all wrong.
Great job Derek! 💚
Derek Stacy, How should we be doing this.. Paid by job or hrly, and what should we be be doing differentlt that you do so earn more as a DD?
