Band-Maid are the best progressive hard rock band on the planet. Just Bring It is the best hard rock album since Appetite for Destruction. Every single song is a total banger, and Don't You Tell Me is the perfect way to start.
American music industry is dead. Japan is catching up. Japanese music industry is still alive. American music dominated because it was the biggest market. It's not like Americans are better musicians naturally. Now there is more money to be made in Japan. At least in selling music directly. You can still sell CDs in Japan. People don't just download it. Also I'm fine with that. I gave the American music companies enough money already. They were pretty greedy. I don't want to go back to paying the equivalent of 40 dollars for an album without even knowing if there is more than the song I heard on the radio. When people started stealing music nobody would help the music companies because everyone hated them.

I've been around a while, love the 70's rock, love great guitar playing, and these girls have it all. Band-Maid is easily in my Top 5 all-time favorite bands. Amazing does not begin to describe the incredible talent of each and every one of these young ladies. I can't wait to see them in person.

Band-Maid is the epitome of a Rock n Roll band. Although thoroughly trained, they come off as a garage bands, of old; started by 1 member's dream that coalesces around a theme, but bringing out each members' tastes and identity. I would liken them to the Beatles, for sure.
@@Dan-mc7xg That is so true Kobato-chan literally had a dream while working at a maid-cafe and then she found 4 like-minded girls who were all willing to try (Saiki and Misa didn't really like the maid concept) but they all worked hard on the music for 2 years and blew up in 2019.

These girls are so fantastic live....if you get a chance to see them, really don't miss it they're that good. Saw them in San Francisco last weekend...spend that money you were going to use for school and go see them. You don't need another app for you phone you need to see them. @1:52 During an interview, they briefly talked about this part of the music video, and apparently it was the very first take, but Kanami was laughing so much she was too shy to look at the camera, Akane almost spit her food out so she put her face down, Saiki tries to remain as serious as possible until she breaks a smile, and MISA is just being MISA. Totally agree with comments here. Band-Maid is an amazing band....these girls are great musicians, as well as being totally hot. One of the best modern rock bands I've heard, and certainly the best girl band. And I say that as an old rocker who's being playing guitar since before these girls were born.
Totally agree with you, but I have to add... for me, Band-Maid are the best hardrock band of all times. I grew up listening to the great ones of the 70s and Band-Maid today blow them away IMHO.
1:46 After watching an interview with them, I came to the realization that this scene perfectly encapsulates them, lol. Misa loves her alcohol, Akane loves her food, Kanami loves her.. Saiki, Saiki is a Tsundere, and Miku is Miku.
It's funny seeing their early outfits. As they gained popularity, BAND-MAID could have cranked up the sexy-maid schtick, then laid back and let the songwriters keep writing their songs as they raked in money. Instead, BAND-MAID backed off on the sexy maid angle, started composing their own awesome songs, and made their outfits bigger and sparklier.
They also wrote this song themselves ... and why should there be a connection between writing your own songs and what clothes you wear? Actually their first self written song "alone" was released in early 2016, but their "big and sparkly" outfits were first presented in early 2020.

I keep BAND-MAID in their own playlist and listen non-stop. This is one of the best bands I've heard in a long time and Misa's bass techniques and skills are comparable to early Geddy Lee. I'm not putting one member above any other, these are some great musicians.
I'm now up to 4 separate Band Maid playlists: official videos, official live videos, fan cam videos and interviews and miscellaneous stuff. And I love Misa's bass playing too.
Sometimes I admit I really get into MIsa Misa, I swear I heard some Entwhistle in her playing on the live "Manners" I do hear some Geddy too, her sound is incredible with such nice chops. But then her and Akane together...what a rhythm section! But I'm a guitarist so I do revere and adore Kanami as well! And Miku and Saiki-what--a----band! American music industry is dead. Japan is catching up. Japanese music industry is still alive. American music dominated because it was the biggest market. It's not like Americans are better musicians naturally. Now there is more money to be made in Japan. At least in selling music directly. You can still sell CDs in Japan. People don't just download it.
Also I'm fine with that. I gave the American music companies enough money already. They were pretty greedy. I don't want to go back to paying the equivalent of 40 dollars for an album without even knowing if there is more than the song I heard on the radio. When people started stealing music nobody would help the music companies because everyone hated them.

I've been around a while, love the 70's rock, love great guitar playing, and these girls have it all. Band-Maid is easily in my Top 5 all-time favorite bands. Amazing does not begin to describe the incredible talent of each and every one of these young ladies. I can't wait to see them in person.

Band-Maid is the epitome of a Rock n Roll band. Although thoroughly trained, they come off as a garage bands, of old; started by 1 member's dream that coalesces around a theme, but bringing out each members' tastes and identity. I would liken them to the Beatles, for sure.
@@Dan-mc7xg That is so true Kobato-chan literally had a dream while working at a maid-cafe and then she found 4 like-minded girls who were all willing to try (Saiki and Misa didn't really like the maid concept) but they all worked hard on the music for 2 years and blew up in 2019.
Like I found them by accident while listening to baby metal and have been hardcore hooked since....like I've listened to them more than any other band since discovering them
Absolutely-another Maidiac here to agree! I just sent Choose Me, Thrill and Daydreaming to my brother-in-law tonight, I'm hoping that he doesn't think I'm nuts, however I DON'T CARE!! However, he's an old school rock n roll fan and I sense that he'll love them too. I not only think they make perfect music, they are already legendary in my mind. You've heard all of the greats, me too, well we know these ladies are the REAL DEAL This band IS different and a miracle! They have a power that is undeniable. I'm on another night long Band-Maid listen--o-thon, my God I forget how incredible they are!

Totally agree with comments here. Band-Maid is an amazing band....these girls are great musicians, as well as being totally hot. One of the best modern rock bands I've heard, and certainly the best girl band. And I say that as an old rocker who's being playing guitar since before these girls were born.
Totally agree with you, but I have to add... for me, Band-Maid are the best hardrock band of all times. I grew up listening to the great ones of the 70s and Band-Maid today blow them away IMHO.

It's funny seeing their early outfits. As they gained popularity, BAND-MAID could have cranked up the sexy-maid schtick, then laid back and let the songwriters keep writing their songs as they raked in money. Instead, BAND-MAID backed off on the sexy maid angle, started composing their own awesome songs, and made their outfits bigger and sparklier.

I like sexy things, not gonna lie, but honestly, im glad their outfit design is going the way it is.
They also wrote this song themselves ... and why should there be a connection between writing your own songs and what clothes you wear? Actually their first self written song "alone" was released in early 2016, but their "big and sparkly" outfits were first presented in early 2020.
They don't need that "appeal" unlike western music, their music is sexy and awesome as it is :)

I keep BAND-MAID in their own playlist and listen non-stop. This is one of the best bands I've heard in a long time and Misa's bass techniques and skills are comparable to early Geddy Lee. I'm not putting one member above any other, these are some great musicians.
I'm now up to 4 separate Band Maid playlists: official videos, official live videos, fan cam videos and interviews and miscellaneous stuff. And I love Misa's bass playing too.

Sometimes I admit I really get into MIsa Misa, I swear I heard some Entwhistle in her playing on the live "Manners" I do hear some Geddy too, her sound is incredible with such nice chops. But then her and Akane together...what a rhythm section! But I'm a guitarist so I do revere and adore Kanami as well! And Miku and Saiki-what--a----band!
