    Last year I started to realise I‘m not 25 anymore but almost 50.
    Not being a regular (endless laps I mean) at the Ring means, I need to concentrate even more on all around me and honestly, 3 laps in a row is enough. I need a break then. Especially, considering I have the responsibility for my kids who love the Ring and always want to come with me.

    Thanks for this lap, I was reviewing it three times, it looks like it's not only about the weight of the car or tyres, but also the size of the steering wheel in combination with manual transmission and huge central tunnel... This combo asks you to do so many additional movements because of the right elbow and the most interesting thing that people with shifters on the steering will never understand this uncomfy combo.

    I remember a day of driving 8 hours to the Ring only to then get my brains scrambled being passenger of some crazy Russian (I asked for it :)), and subsequently almost declining the opportunity to do my own first lap (in full wet), because of exactly that - being exhausted and overwhelmed. And you better have your wits about you during a track session. But yeah, opportunities are hard to decline.. and if you always err on the side of caution, you might end up not having done anything in your life at all :)

Maybe we could concentrate on the people more, carry out more conversation in the car and go 6 or 7/10 instead of going 8 or 9 and risking accidents and the like.
    Keep in mind it's not a criticism. I obviously don't have your full point of view on this and my driving skills are nowhere to be compared to yours. Just a thought. I don't want things to end bad and I'd be happy with just a video a week.

    This is something i teach my students : a good driver is also able to listen to his/her body, and is able to look for signs that tell you that you are tired, exhausted etc… sometimes you accumulate tiredness over a long period and at some point you keep going on the nerves… that’s when you end up crashing, (not your car, but your body says stop) and you fell asleep, you burn out… A good driver is able to say, not today, today I’ll get some sleep, some recovery time for myself, I won’t drive. Too bad if this is the day someone offers you to drive a ferrari F40, you should be able to say no… just be a passenger maybe. Listening to your body is also a skill to develop. There is no shame about that.
    It’s not a matter of being in shape or not, it’s a matter of respecting ourselves and get some rest at some point. Alma Sana In Corpore Sano, a sane mind in a sane body…

      When crawling through traffic at one mile an hour, you need to dip the clutch to stop it stalling.
      It seems like you are saying "don't dip the clutch" in circumstances that require the clutch to be dipped.
      If he did as you asked, the car would either stall or run in to the car infront, unless you dip the clutch to modulate speed.
      I have never overheated a car or a clutch due to using the clutch in slow moving traffic.

    Very nice lap thou. I hate driving when tired. It's such a chore. Which do you prefer manual or flappie paddles.? Does using manual make you more tired.?

    • @ahyaan2552
      @ahyaan2552 Рік тому +4

      I suppose manual needs more effort since you have to think about heel and toe, whereas flappy paddles are just pressed and the clutch is done by the car.

    Umm, what was wrong with this lap? There was no "moment", not like when you nearly went off with your fiancée in the back. About 8:25 BTG so not very fast, you weren't pushing it too hard...

    • @mgcharoudin
      @mgcharoudin  Рік тому +3

      Exactly, it was not as fast as it usually would be. Holding back a lot and still being exhausted. In comparison: if someone would have happened, I probably would not catch it.
