Thank u for doing WET. There are SO MANY nah sayers on engine bay washing. I've Ben doing mine for over 5 decades. A greasy/dirty engine is like frying an egg. It's cooler when clean. If u maintain it, u don't HAVE to use cleaners/copious amounts of water.👍🖖🇺🇸

Yes, we recommend covering it.
Easily one of my favorite videos becaue he's just flowing and call Engine Cover a Valve Cover but just keeps going. lol
Remove the battery. Cover the exposed electrical connectors with tape and then you can pressure wash it for safe distance and won't have any issues. You don't even have to remove the tape afterwards. Detailers really love making things harder than they should be.

I wouldn’t buy a second hand car with a clean engine bay.
Are they covering up an oil / fluid leak and have cleaned and degreased for that reason.

Recently sold a car and the buyer was shocked how clean I kept the engine bay. It helps
I’m always afraid of it not starting so I just use a rag sprayed with degreaser and wipe as much as I can.
Why? You drive in the rain, it’s made for the weather. Electrical connections are water tight. Just keep water away from the intake and off the fuse box.

Using water on a super dirty engine bay will be easier to clean.
I always have the car running the whole time.
1. Wet engine with pressure washer
2. Apply Dawn dish soap with pump sprayer
3. Rinse.
4. Should be done in 5 minutes YW
Just wanna add to the open hood and do it on a cold engine not when it’s hot due to temperature changes cause issues to most weaker plastics and metals. The blow drying method after works every time to get the pooled water. Trust me if chemical guys do this then it’s worth every bit of listening last thing a million dollar company needs is a lawsuit towards them so they do it right every time in California but you pay for it.

I’ve been doing engine bay cleaning for 20 plus years like this. I haven’t had an issue.
Fun fact, I actually did this on my Toyota RAV4 trail this morning. Current generation. No issues.
