@arthurimusprime2177 Everything in this movie is basically a mutant so we don’t even know what these are. Secondly, brontosaurus is the only dinosaur on your list. Thirdly, Shringasaurus should not be on this list, seeing as it wouldn’t be discovered for another 27 years after this movie came out. I’d replace it with Centrosaurus.
@@hcollins9941 As for Shringasaurus, let's be honest, I'm not sure any of the creatures in the movie were meant to be *any* real-world dinosaura, or if there were, they're mutated to the point of unrecognizability. It's more likely OP applied genus names based on certain physical traits.
*EDITED* Okay, not a one of these is an existing dinosaur, I'm sure of it. I'm guessing the creature designer(s) didn't know much about dinosaurs, LOL 😅 EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I love the creature designs. I just find the situation more amusing than anything else
That’s ok, the creature designers are pretty much new, I like these films' dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, they may look weird and inaccurate, but remember, you can’t please everyone.
@@thejoker15678 Oh, I wasn't mad; I apologize, I hadn't meant to come across that way. I'm more amused than anything else, LOL. I do like the creature designs.
Do you need an example? Okay. The first creature, which I will refer to as "Creatures" from now on, is unmistakably a giant worm with a large jaw. The second creature resembles a crocodile with a long neck. The third creature is uncertain, but it's likely a tortoise with a modified shell and a pair of horns. The fourth creature bears a striking resemblance to a dog with menacing features and large teeth, while the next creature is a highly altered bat with scaly features. The last creature, though resembling a Rancor from Star Wars, is most likely a toad with teeth and horns. Additionally, in the movie, there are other remaining creatures such as the swamp monster, two large arthropods, and reptilian mutants. Unlike what's shown, these creatures are portrayed by live actors and are not stop-motion. Although the giant worm is also not a stop-motion model, it's probably a puppet. If there's anything else that I've missed out, please let me know. And as for the movie itself, well, I don't think it will be receiving high marks in my opinion. Maybe terrible, but at least the animation is alright.
It looks like a timeline where dinosaurs didn't evolve into big sizes and so therapsids and pseudosuchians instead evolved to dominance. This should have been called Triassic world.
For those wondering, here are the creatures in this film: Biceratops (the horned one that is killed by the Doggosaurus) Doggosaurus (the one that looks like a gorgonospid) Giant Flyer (the one that looks like a wyvern) Lake Monster (the one at the lake and looks like a generic lake monster) Pit Monster (the one in the pit and is being jabbed by a spear) Tromasaurus (the worm-like creature) No need to thank me, thank the website known as Kaijumatic which I got the names of these creatures from. The website also has creatures from more obscure and lesser known movies like The Day Time Ended (1980, another movie with stop motion).
@@Scifogon Already saw thw video two days ago, lol. Also, Kaijumatic is the very websites I got the names of these creatures from. I even cited it in my comment.
I don't want to be blunt, but these creatures are NOT what you'd call "DINOSAURS" rather a collection of unfortunate creatures that had been genetically mutated (if I remembered correctly that it is a world after a nuclear holocaust).
Patrick, I have personal opinions on what these creatures are meant to be. Dogosaurus looks like a therapsid, notably, the therapsid it is most similar most to is the Anteosaurus, a mammalian-like reptile with a crocodile-like body and a huge snout, although the ears of the true Anteosaurus were not canine-like outer ears, the Anteosaurus’s ears are actually inner ears. Still, I think the name Dogosaurus is a funny name for a therapsid like Anteosaurus, although I think Anteosaurus's got the stuff to deserve that name by Kaijumatic in this movie, since it looks canine to me, but Anteosaurus is not related to canines, it’s still a synapsid. As for the Biceratops, while it is a Ceratopsian dinosaur, it doesn’t really look like Triceratops, while it reminds me of Sinoceratops (even though Sinoceratops was discovered in 2008 and described in 2010), it sorta looks like a Centrosaurid dinosaur, all Centrosaurs have long, nasal horns, though in my personal opinion, I say it seems to be a Centrosaurus, as while Centrosaurus had two small hornlets you see on its frills, the Biceratops does have a large nasal horn, but unlike Centrosaurus, it has only one big horn above its head, what an interesting twist! Though, the real Biceratops is actually a olenelloid redlichiid trilobite. For the other creatures. The giant worm-like snake is a Tromasaurus, sadly, I cannot do a personal opinion of the Tromasaurus resembling Titanoboa, because Titanoboa was discovered in 2009. The large swamp reptile is based on a depiction of Nothosaurus, due to its unusual eel-like appearance, snout, long neck, and semi-aquatic lifestyle similar to Nothosaurus, though it is oversized. The bat-like pterosaur looks like the flying monster from Jack the Giant Killer, but it is more bat-like, than dragon-like is based on Anurognathids, specifically Anurognathus, but, I can’t identify it as Jeholopterus, because Jeholopterus is discovered in 2002, so I'm just gonna call it Anurognathus for now! Pretty much based on Anurognathus ammoni, Let me continue. And this Rancor-like creature, it seems to be a fusion of a Toad and Horned Lizard, and yes, there are mutants in this film, like those mutant cavemen. It should be worth noting that not all creatures in the film are played with stop motion, some of them are played by animatronic props, like the Tromasaurus.

Patrick, did you see my personal opinions what these animals in the film are meant to be? Do you have any personal opinions on what these animals are meant to be?
Hi Joker, Yes, I have seen your post. Sorry for the delay in responding. With work and family, it leaves little time to keep up with all communication from the channel 😊 When I read your post I was amazed by your knowledge in paleontology, I am nowhere near your level. But since I always loved prehistoric beasts, I had to check all those creatures you mentioned. For the dogosaurus, I agree that the general shape is similar to a therapsid with canine features like the outer ears that can probably rotate to pinpoint sounds and the frontal snout with nostrils. If we take into account the leathery skin folding on the side of the mouth, to suggest an aggressive expression, it brings us even closer to a snarling dog shape mammal. The crocodile tail with reptile skin only on the back part of the body really screams hybrid mutation. The general form reminds me of the hell dogs from Ghostbuster, in my opinion. For the biceratop, it is difficult to evaluate its origin or ancestry lineage. It really resembles some kind of mix between reptile and horned beetles. The body seems similar to a ceratopsian dinosaur without the neck covering frill. The head has a unique blend of horns or maybe a skull protrusion that resembles horns. The horns don’t seem to have much offensive advantage and offers no protection to the body or the neck. The elbows have a hornlike appendage which does not seem to serve any functions. The back side also reminds me of the abdomen of an insect with no tail.
I imagine it takes place in a world where the Triassic extinction event never occured and so pseudosuchians, therapsids and other reptilian lineages evolved into giant sizes instead of dinosaurs.
