Take off your blinders. Listen carefully....I can tell, I'm half asian too. He kept bringing up the asian thing sarcastically bc Clark brought it up first...listen to him and look at his expression.
@@niapaulino3310 I've not idea what Clark was trying to get him to do with the accents. Just like "Give us some funny Asian accents doing different professions that Asian people don't do?"
@@niapaulino3310 "I'm half asian too" Must be your non-asian half that wasting time on the internet complaining about nothing 🤣One of your parents is probably ashamed of how you turned out.
What you all didn't see was when Daniel Son stood up and asked; "Hey Dick, why does your mic look like a dick?" and then Pat started blowing the mic, right there in front of everyone.
Dude, was he getting high because he looks high 😂 Mr. Miyagi - Daniel-san, DANIEL-SAN... bring me my joint or no training today. Daniel-san - Yes, Mr. Miyagi.
He had to do alot of tap dancing to fulfil the stereotypes about his race. "We are the good guys now" "Orientals doent get embassed" "i have tiny eyes because..." etx etc Damn.
For real, I’m not even halfway through and I’m like damn - Morita is funny and clearly trying gritting his teeth through it, but the host makes you want to punch him right in the face for his ignorance.
I thought the same thing. Also, the young Villian and the Romance INterest of Daniel LaRusso in KK2 also are Japanese Americans who faked their heavy Japanese Accents.
Why does Dick Clark have to mention oriental/etc?...Sigh...it was really brutal back in the day...looks like Pat was throwing it back w the "orientals"/kept mentioning the word and saying we will own everything. Good for him! I'm glad he dished it back and he was right. Talk to him without mentioning his race...is it possible? Imagine how you would feel if people spoke to you like that all the time. Pat, you're American. PERIOD. RIP.
Why do you and so many others not understand that things were different in the past? Oriental was the accepted term back then. You must be like 5 years old if you don’t know how things work. Words are constantly being thought up, used as the preferred term for a few days, and then suddenly it’s decided it’s now offensive and a new word thought up to replace it.
Better question: why is it totally normal and acceptable for black rappers or comics like Jay-Z or Dave Chappelle, to use the word ''n*gga''? Either it's offensive for *EVERYBODY* to use it or not, make up your f*#% mind! Also, ''Negro'' in spanish/latin means literally ''black'', as in the color black. A ''black shirt'' in spanish is ''la camisa negra''. The other idiot in the comments here, complains because Pat Morita is called ''oriental'', which is like complaining if somebody would call George Lopez a ''latino'' or something. This whole politically correct ''newspeak'' is total horseshite, if you excuse my greek. Ups, I hope I didn't offend the Greeks!
After seeing this, I guess Dick Clark will be labeled a racist and anything associated with his name will be destroyed... Pat Morita, self-titled "The Hip Nip". Very funny man RIP
Blue Kid Now I don’t want this to sound offensive in any way but I am white and now in my seventies, and though I am not prejudiced I sometimes find it hard to keep up with the current acceptable terminology. A few years ago I was chastised by my daughter for describing someone as ‘coloured’ even though she knew that I didn’t mean anything racist by it. During my lifetime the approved wording has changed several times; from ‘Negro’ to ‘coloured’ to ‘black’ etc. and for someone like me it can become quite confusing to try to stay up to date with the latest politically correct expressions. We do try, and I hope some of you younger people can forgive us if we sometimes inadvertently get it a bit wrong.
Had he lived today, Pat would've made an awesome cameo in Crazy Rich Asians.
Miss you Mr. Morita rest in peace.

Because back then there was no PC culture nor CRT BS.
It wasn’t offensive, liberals just made it offensive
@@mikoyyuy13 It was back then too...we just didnt speak about it.
Was the term "Negro" really that normal back in the 1970's?
I think it lost common usage in the late 60s with the growth in black empowerment movement...and blackploitation filmography genre of the 1970s.
