    Bruh.... best vid Ive seen for walleyes yet. Im a rocky mountain kokanee and trout fisherman and trying to get more into walleye fishing. I appreciate your info! Looks like I can use some of my kokanee baits with the smile blades for walleyes. the bottom bouncer rig is what I plan on trying first so this really helped me know how to set it up. we have 40 mph winds rolling through today with 4-8 inches of snow expected so might be a couple weeks before I can get the boat uncovered, but can't wait to get out and try it now. thanks again!

    This is almost the only technique I knew how to use growing up. I've since expanded my horizons, but this is definitely a confidence method for me. Cool video.

    I've been using bottom bouncers for years and years. Love them. Make my own two hook crawler harnesses. Two to three foot leaders, with 20 lb mono. It's enjoyable. Blades are getting totally sick! Beads and hooks also, as far as that goes. Always catch more from the crawler setup than any other lure, jig set up. So yeah totally agree with your setup. Enjoyed the video. Thanks😊

    Just wanna say thanks for all the information you provide in your videos! Especially when it comes to looking for the underwater points and other waypoints to fish at on your depth finders! Really appreciate that! Just out of curiosity, when your fishing appoints like that is that specific for walleye only or other species as well?

      Got to add that your situation with other boats reminds me of my days as a a Pacific Salmon fisher. I learned that when all the boats turned north at the sea buoy it was better for me to turn south. It was because the fish were usually spread out and if I went the opposite direction as the fleet I didn’t have to split them with as many other boats.

  • @carlstreet7095

    Wish me luck getting a response after 2 years, but: where you were, was the bottom clean, gravel or rocky? What do you do differently based on the bottom makeup? How much depth change can a bouncer stand? Do you make passes in one direction? With, against the wind?

    • @Lil_PP_2
      @Lil_PP_2 Рік тому +1

      Typically they’re fishing along sandy, rocky areas, where sand meets rocky areas because that’s where Walleye typically always hangout, deep underwater away from sunlight. I typically fish with minnows in the spring time (spawning season), and when late spring-summer time arrives, I switch to plastics (jig worms, plastic worms, etc), typically when you’re fishing deep lakes, deep waters, you won’t find logs, twigs, or get caught up on much because you’re far away from shore, away from the garbage, weeds, logs, so normally you won’t have to worry much about gettting snagged (but it is possible tho). As far as wind, if you’re fishing from shore, don’t let the wind mess you up, if it’s windy, don’t let the wind deflect your straight cast, try to keep it as straight as you can, don’t let your line be far to your right or left

    I've been on 3 safaris. 1 in Namibia and 2 in South Africa. You failed to mention one of the biggest expenses, tips. Every person you encounter expects to be tipped, and tipped very graciously. Figure minimum 100/day to your PH, then house manager, skinners, trackers, kitchen staff, maids, etc. For a 7 day hunt you better figure on 2 grand minimum. Awesome experience but not nearly the bargain they make it out to be

    • @KansasAnglingExperience

  • @dougsnodgrass5571

    Interesting that you don’t let out much line. Seems like your boat would cause fish to scatter.

    • @KansasAnglingExperience
      @KansasAnglingExperience  2 роки тому

      Nothing about true bottom bouncing involves letting out more line than the depth you’re in plus a few feet. Speed between .9-1.2mph, with the lines at a 45° angle, that’s it.

    • @KansasAnglingExperience
      @KansasAnglingExperience  Рік тому

      Depends on a lot of things. Mostly time of year and water temp. Speeds can vary between .8 and 1.5 depending on water temp and how the fish are acting. Colder water, more fishing pressure, slower speed. Higher water temp, faster.
