if you quickly dip the paracord into some hot water it will shrink and get extremely tight

I used this on a set of pliers that I use for fishing and warped one of the handles to secure a carabiner. Works perfect.

I do something similar to this for storing the Paracord. When im wrapping up my cord i just use one of the bends to cinch up the loose end. Works pretty good if you use wired ear buds too. Just leave the buds where the keyring would be and after you spool it up give the bundle of bends some wraps stick the jck through your first bend and pull bud end to cinch it

Does this work for a glass bottle, as well? If I dip it in warm sater/put it in the dishwasher, will it be tight enough to hold the full bottle?

I go back the other way with the cord and loop it and pull it till it squeaks, that's tight.

I have a question, can you take the lighter out and replace it with another one or after you take the lighter out the case unravels?

    • @TheWeaversofEternity
      @TheWeaversofEternity  Рік тому +3

Yes, you can replace the lighter, but if you just pull the lighter out, the wrap will lose it's form. What I do to replace the lighter is, take the replacement lighter and press the butt end of the new lighter on top of the old one. Press down while holding the paracord wrap and the old lighter will slide out as the new one slides in replacing it. That keeps the wrap in it's shape and you don't have to do any re-tying. I hope that makes sense.

Can you switch lighters out without messing up the paracord?

I wonder if that's why he didn't melt the end by the keyring the same as the first....

You don't need a second lighter to finish this up.
Just Clip the end about have the length of the wrap and pull it under the wrapping to lock it up.
Do this by pulling in your initial loop.
You have now successfully whiplashed your Lighter.
You can tighten up your Wrapping before finishing it by rotating the lighter in your firm grip, following the direction of the wrapping.
Thanks for all the great Tutorials!

I remember doing something similar to this several years back, I had to very carefully melt the cord to the body of the lighter

I wish I could send a pic, I did it on my zippo! LOL And it looks awesome. The top part with no key chain of course. Now my expensive zippo is easier to operate due to the added friction (it had a matte finish so it tended to slip) and if somehow it gets dropped, great shock absorbtion so it won't lose it's value, kinda like a phone case. Look what a paracord wrapping video opened up the possibilities too.

For different patterns I actually gutted the paracord in order to reduce the thickness (purely for esthetic look not survival situations)

A further must is in my opinion to take away the security-clip from the ratchet.

No, it's just a snapping sound...that also happens to sound like the Switch sound.
