Rich,i know what you mean about the sunshine, we lived in madeira for 14 years sunny most days,the wife wanted to come back to England. I will never get use to cold and wet. Amazing you with the elephants lovely to watch you both. I really enjoyed it.
I find the endless grey and rain at home so depressing creating the need to be inside all day, sunshine and being outside side just makes you feel so good!
Ahhh guys!! We too went to an Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket. No riding, but we mudbathed them and then went to an idyllic pond, where the elephants joined us for a rinse. CANNOT tell you how gentle they were with my 9yr old. Rolled over in the water, made sure they didn't hit her. Thailand is amazing, the people are most incredible aren't they?! And the constant shrines etc are a real delight.
Ewa made me laugh when she scared the beegeebas out of you Rich! Lovely interaction with the elephants 😍. That papaya salad must have been hot if Ewa couldn't eat it. C'mon Rich man up with the geckos, they won't eat you 🤭

Honestly being here and interacting with Thai people really demonstrates how bad the uk is. We are currently in a hotel in a very busy city area… there’s all vices you can think of, weed shops, bars and anything else…. BUT we saw no trouble, Motorcycles are left outside all with the keys in ignition, vendors with their takings on clear display… it’s amazing. In the uk you don’t dare look at another person as you walk by them in the street and need multiple chains on your bike to nip into the supermarket

Brings back a few memories for me, I visited Thailand a few years back spent 5 weeks diving and touring. The wife and I went up to Kanchanaburi on the train from Bangkok, what an experience. My mate talked me into hiring a 125cc bike and I was hooked, I now own two bikes back home as a result of hiring one in Thailand.

Wow your day looked amazing! I am the same with the lizards, I can't sleep when they are in the room also LOL, Sara is fine and doesn't mind them. The bigger tokay lizards you will recognise, they are super loud and have colourful spots. We have seen a few snakes over the years, but they usually run away from us - it is a surprise to see them cross the roads though. It is amazing to see you really enjoying Thailand more and more each day.

Lovely video. It is great to get out of Bangkok. A couple of points: When you are in remote areas be careful of chickens running across the road and dogs, sleeping on the road (and they do not move). I have a small problem with too much ice in my drinks. If you do not fancy a cup of hot English Breakfast tea (that really quenches my thirst), why not give Thai Tea a try. It is not as spicy as Indian Chai. If you try it and don't like it, you do not have try it again. If folks get to Chiang Mai, they often ride out to Pai and the Mae Hong Son Loop. I am not saying that this is bad but you may want to think about some alternatives. You can ride directly north through Chiang Dao (lovely) and up to the border with Myanmar. Remember this is a closed border. We took our photo in front of the barrier while the soldiers were cutting the grass. We really loved that. You can also ride up through the national park to Chiang Rai. It is a nice city but the rides to the west of the city are really nice. Some lovely waterfalls. Also you can carry on to the Golden Triangle. I strongly recommend hiring a driver for the day to drive you around the area and explain things. Also the roads are a bit dangerous. My photo of me standing by the Golden Triangle sign was on my bucket list. This is going to sound bonkers but the opium museum was fascinating. I hope that folks may find something of interest. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, guys, Thailand is definitely the birthplace of Red Bull. That’s where it was founded and what is going on Thai food is on the top of Asian cuisine look little harder and you will find food that will put joy and smiles on your face. Great video guys keep it up, definitely gives an insight on what’s going on in all these places
I retired to Thailand seventeen years ago, I live in Dan Chang, Suphan Buri, The small house lizards are called Chingcho and the very big ones are Toocair(up to ten inches in long). They are no problem as they eat mosquitos. Very good channel keep it up. p.s. I will never go back to UK it's a mess! I also have a RE Interceptor, a very good value for money bike.
I went through Vietnam. Cambodia and Tyland on a bus tour. I ended up getting salmonella from the scrambled eggs in a 4 star hotel. My fault as I normally just eat at small places with local food and haven had a problem before or since. So watch out for those European breakfasts Ritch

Really enjoying your trip around Thailand. 10 years ago I was in Bangkok for a few days then flew out to koh Samui where I hide a bike for one week. You must be brave and try the street food. It is delicious.

Rich, I don't know if you're planning to get up to Chiang Mai, but I'm pretty sure you'll get your drone repaired there. I've had good results from a place called Photo Bug, but there's a few DJI places in CM.

Like the fact that you brought up animal welfare I went on a river trip took us to a snake farm no no no took us there anyway there was an elephant there sad chained no room gone mad I would have put it down so cruel The snakes had to taunt even though they had extracted venom one stood and launched at the handler got a bite in panic all round 😮 Your elephants looked happy enough such intelligent animals❤
That beef meal that you ordered Ewa and ate is fine. You can eat beef raw (steak tartare). The reason we can have beef rare, is because bacteria can only live on the outside, unlike other meats (chicken, for instance) I'm sure you've both looked into it by now, thought I'd just mention it for anyone else who wants to know. What an experience getting so close to them very well behaved and beautiful creatures, elephants are so lovely. It was great entertainment to watch as always, until the next time. Geckos are really harmless. They won’t come anywhere near you. We’ve slept in all different places, inside and out. I’ve also never seen a snake in Thailand.

Really enjoying your trip around Thailand. 10 years ago I was in Bangkok for a few days then flew out to koh Samui where I hide a bike for one week. You must be brave and try the street food. It is delicious.

Rich, I don't know if you're planning to get up to Chiang Mai, but I'm pretty sure you'll get your drone repaired there. I've had good results from a place called Photo Bug, but there's a few DJI places in CM.

Like the fact that you brought up animal welfare I went on a river trip took us to a snake farm no no no took us there anyway there was an elephant there sad chained no room gone mad I would have put it down so cruel The snakes had to taunt even though they had extracted venom one stood and launched at the handler got a bite in panic all round 😮 Your elephants looked happy enough such intelligent animals❤

That beef meal that you ordered Ewa and ate is fine. You can eat beef raw (steak tartare). The reason we can have beef rare, is because bacteria can only live on the outside, unlike other meats (chicken, for instance) I'm sure you've both looked into it by now, thought I'd just mention it for anyone else who wants to know.
What an experience getting so close to them very well behaved and beautiful creatures, elephants are so lovely.

Geckos are really harmless. They won’t come anywhere near you. We’ve slept in all different places, inside and out. I’ve also never seen a snake in Thailand.
Oh, and the mozzys will eat you to bits if you don’t put mozzy spray on!
We saw a snake dead in the road! We were in the jungle though..
We use the pink stuff from 7 11 for the mozzies
Snakes have vibration senses and avoid being anywhere with footsteps being felt by them. You're fine.

It’s too early to answer that truthfully yet, I think you need to spend allot more time in a area you like before knowing that, we move on so often to new places it’s easy to be over excited about each place because it’s a new environment
