      We are going back to VN in a couple of weeks to see Nha Trang and I will ride the Ha Giang Loop as we didn't see those on our first visit, and of course our favourite two cities, Danang and Hanoi. We aren't fussed on Saigon, but we agree the food tour on the back of motorcycles was a highlight. We are older so Hanoi and all it's street food and egg coffees are more our thing.

      @@steveth1000 If you like the food tours, check out the one that Steph and Pete did in Hoi An (my favorite as the guides showed a variety of amazing food) and also the guide Flora and Note used in Hanoi is really great (Steph and Pete used the same guide while there, too).

    Having moved from Australia to Vietnam 3.5 years ago you guys have just scratched the surface of places to see. Unlike Aussie and the vast distance between anywhere Vietnam has much more to see than what’s promoted by the normal travel agent both back home or even here in Vietnam.
    1 month in vietnam is never enough and for me in 2015 6 months packing around wasn’t enough either. I’m still finding new places and experiences even after 3.5 years living here..
    keep living your dream and keep the videos coming 👍✌🏻

    I'd say next time you come back, go to Da Lat, Ninh Binh/Tam Coc, the Ha Giang Loop (Paddy Doyle and Kinging-It are pumping out AMAZING videos from there), Phu Quoc, and if you want, Da Nang (Ride with Gabi uploaded a great video from there and his lost video is really good). I'd also recommend doing the caves...they are out of this world and the multi-day ones are super cool. Might want to add Nha Trang, but many don't like it because it reminds them too much of Miami or whatever...if you do go, do the mud baths. :)

    • @steveth1000
      @steveth1000 2 роки тому +1

      We didn't go to Nha Trang on our first 3 month visit as you tubers put us off, but we are going for a week in August 2022, to check out all that it offers, mud baths is the top of our list of things to do. I am also riding Ha Giang Loop, and we have enjoyed Paddy Doyle's amazing footage of the Loop and all of Northern Vietnam. He has a different take on Sapa, but it's a must visit place if visiting Hanoi.

    • @doodahgurlie
      @doodahgurlie 2 роки тому

      @@steveth1000 Yeah, Paddy glossed over Sa Pa and I was very disappointed in his Ninh Binh video as Ninh Binh is probably my favorite place (Ha Giang Loop doesn't count as it's a ride through the scenery). Check out Alright Anton's video on Ninh Binh as he did a great job of showcasing it's beauty and stuff around...he missed out on a few things due to the heat, but said he wants to get back to capture it all at some point.

    If you ever decide that Vietnam is where you would like to settle down for awhile consider becoming English Teachers. You can get one year visas and renew each year. That's what I do and I absolutely love it here. I have lived in Ha Long Bay for 5 years now and for me, this is home. I'm kind of ruined now because when I finally go back to America one day, I'll be glad to get back home to the land of the Free and the Brave, but the memories I have made here will haunt me forever. I will always consider Ha Long my favorite home.

    Fly back to Hanoi for a few more nights, I would, get myself busy & exhausted then travel to Ninh Binh for a quiet day - a little Halong bay, I guess. Return to Hanoi on the same day, I would, and enjoy a few more beers. Exhausted? Of caurse, then heading to Phong Nha Ke bang, (Quang Binh) where one will find the most fascinating caves to admire the nature. How about Hue city? Not very far from there, where one may find traditional & politeness are above the norm. Ahhh . .

    Cảm ơn 2 bạn, tôi đã theo dõi các video hành trình của 2 bạn ở Việt Nam qua 5 địa điểm bạn đã kể. Tôi hoàn toàn tán thành 5 địa điểm đó. Và tôi nghĩ rằng ở VN còn rất nhiều khu du lịch nổi tiếng khác mà theo sở thích lựa chọn của từng người....nếu ai đó thích núi rừng hùng vĩ và thiên nhiên thì hãy đi phượt hoặc một tua lên Miền tây bắc ( Hà Giang, Yên Bái, đỉnh Fansifan- nóc nhà của Đông Nam Á, đỉnh Ô Quy Hồ, Thác bản giốc...chắc chắn nhiều nơi mọi người sẽ choáng ngợp bởi thiên nhiên hùng vĩ và khám phá văn hóa, ẩm thực của các dân tộc thiểu số bản địa nơi đây, độc đáo và người dân tuyệt vời). Nếu bạn yêu biển xanh, cát trắng thì hãy đi dọc miền trung ( Nha trang, Đà Nẵng, Phan Thiết, Đảo Lý Sơn....đó là những bãi biển nằm trong tốp các bãi biển đẹp nhất thế giới). Nếu bạn ưa khám phá vùng sông nước thì hãy tới Miền Tây( bạn sẽ choáng bởi hệ thống sông ngòi dày đặc, cây cối xanh ngút ngàn và đời sống văn hóa người dân gắn liền với sông nước như thế nào...ẩm thực ở đây đa dạng hấp dẫn và con người vô cùng thân thiện). Nếu bạn thích khám phá lịch sử VN thì đến Huế, Hà Nội, Hội An, Ninh bình..... Ngoài ra tôi thấy 2 bạn đã bở lỡ Phong nha kẻ bàng ở Quảng Bình ( là hệ thống hang động, núi đá, suối rừng nổi tiếng nơi đây). Và địa điểm nổi tiếng nhất mà các bạn bỏ lỡ đó là Phú Quốc ( hòn ngọc lung linh nhất của Việt Nam) Phú Quốc là nơi nghỉ dưỡng, tắm biển và vui chơi rất đẳng cấp. 😊😊😊. Chúc các bạn tiếp tục hành trình mạnh khỏe và may mắn. Tôi vẫn rõi theo video các bạn.

      People prefer the old name Saigon. The new name Ho Chi Minh is given by the communists. There is a question mark over the identity of the mummified body in the HCM mausoleum in Hanoi. The real HCM has died much earlier in Hong Kong, the later HCM is believed to be a Chinese agent sent to Vietnam to prepare the country for a Chinese takeover. That way China can conquer Vietnam without needing a bullet, with the help of the Viet commies. Who really is the body in the mausoleum? The mystery can only be solved by examining the DNA. Is the communist authority using the body as propaganda tool to establish legitimacy of the regime?

    Họ bỏ nhiều công sức và tiền bạc để làm video này, quay nhiều hình ảnh đẹp, góc máy rất thú vị, bạn nghĩ xem đi du lịch mà vẫn phải vất vả thế này. Chúng ta nếu có duyên xem được video này thì cứ xem và lịch sự cảm ơn, nhẹ nhàng, văn minh hoặc comment vui, đừng cố đánh giá, liệt kê quá nhiều địa điểm khác vào đây, thời đại này lên google cần thông tin gì ai cũng kiếm được. Đọc comment của nhiều người Việt ở đây thấy rất chán.

    I was just in Vietnam and Cambodia. Isn’t Saigon now Hanoi? After that useless, deadly war? I will Google.

    You should go to Mekong delta , the people are nicer and less develop than HCM and Hanoi and not a rat race type of people like big city. Even if they are rat race people then they are more considerate and understanding. People call them 2 Lua = green and gold, the economy survive on export agriculture and fisheries which you see at coles and woolworth Basa fish.

    The French colonialized (subjugated) the Vietnamese for over 100 years. They thought so little of them, they never bothered to learn to speak vietnamese.

    Hey Mr Beer man did you know that Saigon ceased to exist when it's name was changed in 1945. A bit racist not respecting its name now, just saying 😀

      Hi Wayne, I knew that. Did you know that most locals still call the city Saigon? I do because I spoke with them, now please explain to me the logic of that being racist?

      Mr Wayne, do you know who Ho Chi Minh City was named after? And why the locals of Saigon refused to call it Ho Chi Minh City for decades? I'm guessing not otherwise you would not have written such an embarrassing comment.

      @@LloydandMandy The locals have became resigned to calling it Saigon over the years due to foreigners not having the courtesy to use the correct name. I appreciate that with the appalling treatment that the aboriginal people suffered and continue to suffer at the hands of white Australians that you may not get it. I was merely trying to give you a different perspective of the history of the country. Racist actions are quite often unconscious or unintended. When Vietnam was trying to rebuild after the devastation of the war they put up with a lot from foreigners in order to increase revenues and tolerated far more than either you or I would have put up with, thus resulting in cause and effect. I enjoy your vlogs

      @@LloydandMandy One does know who he was thanks. Life is not seen through white western eyes only. People throughout the world have different views and peoples knowledge of events are so often clouded by the propaganda fed to them.

      This is exactly what I'm talking about though, the people of Saigon themselves did not want to name the city after Ho Chi Minh, it was captured by him in the war. We took a food tour with young local Vietnamese women who told us that their parents still call the city Saigon because they didn't want to let go of its history. It is acceptable to call it either but to bring racism into and call me a racist is an overstep and you are flat-out wrong. Who you even been to HCMC and spoken to locals?
