A Hammond Castle Museum Wedding Highlight Film || Sony FX3

This was my first time ever shooting at the Hammond Castle Museum in Gloucester, Massachusetts and while it was an amazing time (for the most part), there were a few challenges as a solo shooter that I had to overcome to get the job done.
Thankfully, the bride was doing her prep at a home just a mile down the road which was super convenient. And then we took the groom to a room inside the castle/mansion, to stage a faux getting ready session, which ended up working out just as well. We just didn't have that initial anticipatory build with his groomsmen.
The most interesting challenge, believe it or not, was getting my drone caught in some trees roughly 15 feet above the ground, which...climbing in the pitch black of the night with a flashlight between your teeth and a metal rod in one hand seemed more like 30. But the aerial shots were worth the trauma to retrieve
So the biggest hurdle in this wedding was the time limit. The couple only wanted me for about 6 hours, which I gladly extended to make sure I was able to capture all of the speeches and formalities that went long. But that also meant, there was no dance footage from inside the castle that the great Nu Image Entertainment provided for all the guests. Thankfully, this didn't hurt the film at all and we got to focus on the romantics/portraits with the couple, family, and friends and helped focus the film on the love story as told by their vows and the speeches we did record.
All-in-all, I'm happy with how this turned out and can't wait to return to the castle for another wedding.
