I have been playing this track over and over for the past few days . . . and can't understand why we didn't hear more about this Northern Soul movement here in Oz! I'm almost 57 - and started seriously listening to the radio about '67. Anyway - this is EXCELLENT work!!
oh boy ! just when i was thinking there just aint any more out there, i come across this little gem of a tune, brilliant from a girl group i have never heard before, we live and learn eh ? thanks for posting, real nice tune,
I concur, these vidoes raise the bar. As an american who never experienced your scene I appreciate that aspect of these as well. Still learning about music made blocks away from you folks across the pond. Thanks and regards from San Francisco
Update on information regarding The Sweets "Something about my Baby is sung by Jolynn Ballard. Satisfy me Baby is sung by Ruthie and Reola Caddell sings background on both, in Los Angeles 1965. We were The Sweets." Reola Caddell
OMG this song is so sweet! Killer Motown sound with a beautiful lead vocal and unmistakable Motown harmony! This is the first time I ever heard this song and I loved it upon the opening instumentals! Thank you sooo much for posting and introducing this song to me!!
At what number (time stamp) of the video are your friends? I am ALWAYS drawn to the sister with blond hair who dances with the guy, at the start of the video. and yes, may your friends rip

This is my kind of sound! It doesn't have to be a fast stomper to be good and this just oozes class. Many thanks for putting this on, together with a superb vid.
TRACK AND OBSCURE VIDEO FOOTAGE BLENDED PERFECTLY TO CREATE AN AWESOME AND EMOTIVE INSIGHT TO OUR WONDERFUL WORLD. BOTH OLD TIMERS AND PEOPLE CHECKING OUT THE SCENE FOR THE FIRST TIME COULDN'T FAIL TO BE MOVED / INTRIGUED TO FIND OUT MORE. - MORE PLEASE ! soulsupplier
There is so much on youtube that is poorly edited and misguided, giving people a flase sense of NS is all about. This vidoe is sympathetic and brilliantly efited. Spot on. Do some more - you have talent!!
Thanks Steve ...the original broadcast programme clip with soundtrack appear to be hard to track down. However, someone got hold of the footage and placed another track, instead of AOTR (other comments have mentioned 'Interplay') on a DVD Doc.
