The other nobles uses bubles only when going to the lower nations, but they dont need that space suit, Mjosgard had his helmet destroyed when he landed on fishmen island and nothing changed, while Chalos buble was destroyed by Luffy and he also is normal. The Gorousei however have a real job in leading the goverment, so is not like they would walk around with stupid bubles. It makes more sense for the gorousei to look down on the other people than the opposite, since they are just lazy and do nothing, while the gorousei actually do stuff. Also with exception of Saturn going to Egghead, all scenes of the gorousei they are in Mary Geoise, and no one uses helmets or bubles there, so why would the other nobles hate them for that?

I still find it kinda crazy how people actually hate Homing. Like yeah his plan wasn’t thought out but his heart was in the right place. People act like he doesn’t seem the type to make amends if somebody just…explained it to him.
I was rewatching Charlos kidnapping Shirahoshi and the Mjosgard scene happened and after dwelling on it I started to cry seeing there was hope, atonement, and humanity in a Celestial Dragon even after what happened to Homing died trying to be a decent man in a world not ready to forgive any of his people and for justifiable reasons.
I saw the English dub of that scene last week, and the guy who played adult Mjosgard did a good job. What really struck me was that it was Queen Otohime who saved Mjosgard, and helped him discover his humanity. Thus, Otohime's mercy gained the Ryugu Kingdom a powerful ally in Mariejois. Had she not stopped those fishmen from taking revenge on Mjosgard, he would never have been there to save Shirahoshi, and the last hope of King Neptune's people one day returning to the surface would have been dead in the water (pun intended). It's a bit similar to how Bilbo sparing Gollum ultimately led to the destruction of the One Ring.

I've had a theory for awhile that Im keeps the Celestial Dragons around and allows them to get away with so many horrible things to act as a shield against potential revolutions. Anyone who wanted to overthrow the current world government would probably focus on eliminating the evil Celestial Dragons and the Gorosei, never realizing that there is someone above even them.
It is possible. The Gorosei did say that the marines are the public face of the world government, it is likely that they themselves are Im's public face, them being known as the leaders of the world government would allow him perfect cover.
That makes no sense at all. Im is as evil as the other world nobles, he destroyed a entire island and probably has done worse in the past. The other nobles live there because they are descendents of the original 19 kings, not because Im needs to protect himself. The reason of why the nobles are protected is because there the law that protects them from harm. This law was probably created when some tenryubitoo were being attacked in the past centuries ago, giving them the power to create laws to making them above the law and completely shielded by the Admirals, that has nothing to do with Im.
Don't make assumptions as to what lengths to protect oneself are considered absurd. I have seen fictions where individuals have created and regulated companies, cults, even entire countries or kingdoms to protect themselves and their interests or plans from view. Granted most of the individuals who do this tend to be long-lived individuals who can afford to look forward hundreds or thousands of years.
There's the possibility that Blackbeard wants to overthrow the Celestial Dragons and fulfill Xebec's plan to become King of the World. Because of what Tekking said in terms of Dragon having to still be a hero, it might be that the problem solves itself before Dragon can get there. Blackbeard goes into Marigeoise, uses the Op Op fruit method Doflamingo talked about to take over the world, and then kills Imu and the Gorosei. Then when he has control of the sky weapon or whatever, he struts out into the open and declares all the citizens at Marigeoise to be his slaves. Charlos object, but then Shiryuu just slices his head off.
This seems very plausible to happen and very in character for BB, knowing his brutality. I wonder what the national treasure could be, that's ought to be a good video idea for tekking

I like good celestial dragons. They have all the power to do whatever they want and get away with it, yet they still choose to be good people. Someone’s character is tested when they are given power, and these celestial dragons proved that absolute power doesn’t have to corrupt absolutely.
You see in Sabo's flashback that corruption starts early among nobles. The children are told that everything's they do to those born lower than them are simply inferior and undeserving of any consideration. That's how they justify burning/killing a large commute of the homeless; not their own people, literal garbage. There's a decent track record of noble children who interacted with the people outside that environment who grew to be decent. Sabo, Vivi, even Corazón, grew to be admirable.
@@commonviewer2488 Indeed, I recall one translation of the manga where the nobles stated that the people who are lower ranked than them are living garbage who live as they do because they stupidly chose to be born and live as garbage. The same noble indicated that those who are nobles instead made the smart choice before they were born to be born to noble families and so deserve their positions due to their superior intelligence. A whole load of garbage of course, but those beliefs serve to have their children see those lower on the totem pole as not even human disregarding that the only reason anyone is in a position of power or powerlessness is because of chance. Those in noble families and those who are not in noble families could easily have had their positions reversed by that same chance. It does seem that those who learn to be better are often those who have personal interactions with those outside their rank and who gain perspective on their own.
I have been wondering if one of the Gorosei or even a Celestial Dragons might turn against the rest and help the revolution army, Luffy and the rest because they are tired of how things are ran with the government.

I just realized that if the Gorosei are all Celestial Dragons, then there has to be something (more) different about them because they're normal. All the other Celestial Dragons are at least some form of messed up inbreeding, so the Gorosei can't be the same "pure families".
No. All world nobles are part of the same 19 families, so they are all inbred after 800 years if you think about. Oda likes to draw horrible characters with horrible faces. But this is clearly not the result of inbreeding. Rosward (Charlos father), Sharlia (Charlos sister) and Homing and his wife, are all normal looking. Even Charlos and Mjosgard are not as ugly as some other characters. The only worst one is Mjosgard father, that one is bizarre. So the Gorousei are clearly not different from them.
Both of them see the world being in chaos as their idea of fun and a peaceful world as a boring one although the exact reasoning and image they have of the world is a little different.
Mjosgard's change of heart is one of the sweetest redemption arcs in fiction. I would make my kid read the manga solely so I can talk with him about it.
We need more people like Mjosgard. We need to see more of him. I doubt that all of the Celestial Dragons are evil, glass d*ckheads. There had to be like....fewer that aren't horrible. Also interesting fact, Mjosgard share the same Dub VA as Asta from Black Clover.

We know dragons existed in the past and returned briefly for Punk Hazard. But I think there's more to that plot point. Will we see "perfect" dragons before the story ends? I wouldn't be surprised if Imu was some form or dragon. Though I'm leaning more towards Imu being a human controlled by some other supernatural entity
For those who want to understand what Mjosgard must have felt when he realized just how evil the celestial dragons are, consider this. A lot of the Catholic Saints had the realization of how horrible sin is and how even the small things we think of as "normal" are horrible in reality. So imagine if you are an average person our world, and then you have an Illumination Of Conscience, and you realize that all the normal "bad" things we do as humans in our world are moral travesties. Most of us could not accept such a thing as it goes against our common sense and our entire worldview. If people discovered that sin is real and serious, how many of us could turn our lives around? How many could not only repent but avoid falling back into our old way of thinking and living, especially when everyone around us lives in an evil way, and it is accepted and encouraged by society? Mjosgard not only realized that he was a terrible person, but he had the strength to accept it and even the extraordinary strength to repent and reform himself. He is kinda an amazing person to be able to regain and keep his humanity.

i hope Oda goes more in depth about the God knights. we know nothing about them so its all just guessing, but i would say if the Gorosei aren't immortal(which i dont think they are but obvs could be wrong) , then the new Gorosei would be promoted from the God knights since they seems to be like the celestial dragons police, and i doubt normal Celestials would be suited for Gorosei duties considering how delusional and spoiled they are
Mjosgard is appealing in the same way Batman is appealing, personally. He's an obscenely rich dude who finally gives a shit about the rest of the world, even if he's pretty clumsy in how he goes about patching it up. Homing could honestly have done a lot more good staying up in Marijois as a "weirdo".
Yeah, there is no clean way the whole situation with the celestial dragons is going to end. Far too much bad blood for that. What will happen is that once the celestial dragons lose their power, every person with an ax to grind will be coming to kill them, or exploit them however they can. Then you have the random thugs with no personal grudge with the celestial dragons, but will happily make use of them to either gain favor with the angry mob, or as a favor from the celestial dragon for protecting them from the mob. The only ones who might avoid this outcome will be those who are smart enough to bury theirs and their family's identity deep enough to not be discovered.
Heads will roll and blood will be shed, there is no way to avoid that. The celestial dragons have made themselves enemies of most of the world and those who support them generally do so either because they have been taught to do so or because they want to gain something from them. Once they no longer have power and can no longer seek support or command protection, it will be what happened to Doflamingo and his family on a larger scale. A clean solution is out of the question at this point.
I just noticed that the only normal looking celestial dragons are the five elder stars, the donquixote, and any female since oda doesn't draw unappealing females aside from rare exceptions.
I'll half agree. appealing is subjective. idk,maybe I'd find a particular female character better if not all of them had the exact same silhouette and general body dimensions and proportions.

There are so many parallels between the Void Century and the Black Legend, here are just 5: - Ancient Kingdom was advanced and prosperous, just like the Hispanic Monarchy. - The "D." is a name, just like Hispanics used to have the "D." name. - The Void Century erases from history everything from that kingdom, just like the Black Legend (anti-Hispanic blood libels) did with the Hispanic Monarchy. - The enemies of the Ancient Kingdom created that historiographic corruption, just like the enemies of the Hispanic people did. - The Celestial Dragons committed horrible things against humanity during their hegemony, just like the protestantized Anglo-Saxons committed SLAVERY (slaves used to escape to Spain), GENOCIDE (Native Americans), and even created the Third World along its borders (1711's Proposal for Humbling Spain). If this is true, then even the currency in One Piece is related to the Ancient Kingdom, and it would highlight the name which the people of Ohara uncovered.

I could see it being like in "Science fell in love, so I tried to prove it." (season 2 specifically). That season had nothing particularly dark, until the last 1 or 2 episodes. They had a disclaimer at the start of the episode and just went for it. One Piece could do something similar with the revolution. The main difference would be that that it didn't come out of fucking nowhere. That was one of THE MOST UNNECESSARY plot twists I've EVER seen!
I believe a good Celestial Dragon is Shakky as I believe she is based off Greek Amazon empress Penthesilea who is noted to carry an axe in battle so I believe she was known in her pirate days as Silver Axe and she was the daughter of Ares/Mars so believe she is the daughter of the Gorosei that repersents Mars.
That dont make sense. Oda bases his work in real life history and mythology, but never once he made everything the way it is in mythology. Shirahoshi, being Poseidon, would be the sister of Ju Peter, and this cannot be true. You should never be to literal with characters names and roles in one piece.

What if Roger, Garp and rocks crew did do battle which resulted in the building or underground area Imu was staying in ended up being destroyed and exposed allowing people to see Imu, Imu then went on a rampage intending to destroy the island (and yes I know at the moment the assumption is that God valley was destroyed by the weapon or power that destroyed lulucia) killing everyone and everything to ensure his/her existence was not survived by anyone and in the process celestial dragon family's were wiped out (that's why we don't see members from many families despite there having been 20 Kingdoms that joined forces in the past, over the years some families may have married into others and so a few family names would have dropped off but still we should be seeing members from like 10-15 families but we don't and I think they died on God valley), rocks stuffed Shanks into a chest when this happened. Somehow some kind of agreement was reached allowing those remaining to live, Rocks having seen Imus terrifying power understood he'd never claim Imus throne despite being extremely powerful himself and set sail leaving god valley and got "lost" in some part of the world (hence kaido's speech about pirates being defeated will abandon you and sail away or something like that)

What does it take for a individual to change their mind, their heart or their ways. Love a lot of love and a lot of care. Otohime gave everything she had even being that frail had enormous amount of courage to go right to the home of the celestial dragons to bring him safely home and she could have been caught right there and then but did it any way. The hardest thing anyone can do is change someone for the better. Ask yourself can you forgive that one person in your life and make the effort do make them a good person no matter the heart break or in spit a heartbreak or betrayal? Real courage right there and a lot of emotional strength.
an idea I have is what if Mjosgard would go to the auction house and bought slaves just to protect them from other celestial dragons and release them afterwards.

We have to count how many people the Celestial Dragons have killed and will kill in the future vs how many Dragon would. The argument that Dragon is going to far only has merit if it's larger than the cost of leaving the CDs in power. I kinda lean on Dragon being in the right to kill all of them unless they clearly demonstrate allyship on an individual level.
Given a trial, I have no doubt that there would be many celestial dragons who would express no remorse for their actions and their willingness to do more in the future. They seem to at best regard the law as lip service and are under no obligation to follow it. If the world government is to change for the better, than the celestial dragons must be held accountable for their actions. Anything that would ensure real changes is going to result in them losing some kind of power or authority and there are those who will fight to the end. Now they could be put on trial afterwords to give them a fair chance to defend themselves, however given what many of them have done and how the world government's justice system believes in punishing people for the sins of their ancestors as well as their own actions, I have little doubt that many would face the chopping block.

Then when he has control of the sky weapon or whatever, he struts out into the open and declares all the citizens at Marigeoise to be his slaves. Charlos object, but then Shiryuu just slices his head off.
God, the image of Shiryu slicing Charlos head off would be iconic.
This seems very plausible to happen and very in character for BB, knowing his brutality. I wonder what the national treasure could be, that's ought to be a good video idea for tekking

I like good celestial dragons. They have all the power to do whatever they want and get away with it, yet they still choose to be good people. Someone’s character is tested when they are given power, and these celestial dragons proved that absolute power doesn’t have to corrupt absolutely.
You see in Sabo's flashback that corruption starts early among nobles. The children are told that everything's they do to those born lower than them are simply inferior and undeserving of any consideration. That's how they justify burning/killing a large commute of the homeless; not their own people, literal garbage. There's a decent track record of noble children who interacted with the people outside that environment who grew to be decent. Sabo, Vivi, even Corazón, grew to be admirable.
@@commonviewer2488 Indeed, I recall one translation of the manga where the nobles stated that the people who are lower ranked than them are living garbage who live as they do because they stupidly chose to be born and live as garbage. The same noble indicated that those who are nobles instead made the smart choice before they were born to be born to noble families and so deserve their positions due to their superior intelligence. A whole load of garbage of course, but those beliefs serve to have their children see those lower on the totem pole as not even human disregarding that the only reason anyone is in a position of power or powerlessness is because of chance. Those in noble families and those who are not in noble families could easily have had their positions reversed by that same chance. It does seem that those who learn to be better are often those who have personal interactions with those outside their rank and who gain perspective on their own.
I have been wondering if one of the Gorosei or even a Celestial Dragons might turn against the rest and help the revolution army, Luffy and the rest because they are tired of how things are ran with the government.

I just realized that if the Gorosei are all Celestial Dragons, then there has to be something (more) different about them because they're normal. All the other Celestial Dragons are at least some form of messed up inbreeding, so the Gorosei can't be the same "pure families".
No. All world nobles are part of the same 19 families, so they are all inbred after 800 years if you think about.
Oda likes to draw horrible characters with horrible faces. But this is clearly not the result of inbreeding. Rosward (Charlos father), Sharlia (Charlos sister) and Homing and his wife, are all normal looking. Even Charlos and Mjosgard are not as ugly as some other characters. The only worst one is Mjosgard father, that one is bizarre.
So the Gorousei are clearly not different from them.

It's interesting how Kaido and Blackbeard essentially have the same dream of a pirate paradise.
Both of them see the world being in chaos as their idea of fun and a peaceful world as a boring one although the exact reasoning and image they have of the world is a little different.
Mjosgard's change of heart is one of the sweetest redemption arcs in fiction. I would make my kid read the manga solely so I can talk with him about it.

For those who want to understand what Mjosgard must have felt when he realized just how evil the celestial dragons are, consider this.
A lot of the Catholic Saints had the realization of how horrible sin is and how even the small things we think of as "normal" are horrible in reality.

Mjosgard not only realized that he was a terrible person, but he had the strength to accept it and even the extraordinary strength to repent and reform himself.
He is kinda an amazing person to be able to regain and keep his humanity.

i hope Oda goes more in depth about the God knights. we know nothing about them so its all just guessing, but i would say if the Gorosei aren't immortal(which i dont think they are but obvs could be wrong) , then the new Gorosei would be promoted from the God knights since they seems to be like the celestial dragons police, and i doubt normal Celestials would be suited for Gorosei duties considering how delusional and spoiled they are

Yeah, there is no clean way the whole situation with the celestial dragons is going to end. Far too much bad blood for that. What will happen is that once the celestial dragons lose their power, every person with an ax to grind will be coming to kill them, or exploit them however they can. Then you have the random thugs with no personal grudge with the celestial dragons, but will happily make use of them to either gain favor with the angry mob, or as a favor from the celestial dragon for protecting them from the mob.
The only ones who might avoid this outcome will be those who are smart enough to bury theirs and their family's identity deep enough to not be discovered.
Heads will roll and blood will be shed, there is no way to avoid that. The celestial dragons have made themselves enemies of most of the world and those who support them generally do so either because they have been taught to do so or because they want to gain something from them. Once they no longer have power and can no longer seek support or command protection, it will be what happened to Doflamingo and his family on a larger scale. A clean solution is out of the question at this point.
I just noticed that the only normal looking celestial dragons are the five elder stars, the donquixote, and any female since oda doesn't draw unappealing females aside from rare exceptions.

Tekking, you really need to do a video on the One Piece Black Legend theory. There are so many parallels between the Void Century and the Black Legend, here are just 5:
- Ancient Kingdom was advanced and prosperous, just like the Hispanic Monarchy.
- The "D." is a name, just like Hispanics used to have the "D." name.
- The Void Century erases from history everything from that kingdom, just like the Black Legend (anti-Hispanic blood libels) did with the Hispanic Monarchy.
- The enemies of the Ancient Kingdom created that historiographic corruption, just like the enemies of the Hispanic people did.
- The Celestial Dragons committed horrible things against humanity during their hegemony, just like the protestantized Anglo-Saxons committed SLAVERY (slaves used to escape to Spain), GENOCIDE (Native Americans), and even created the Third World along its borders (1711's Proposal for Humbling Spain).
If this is true, then even the currency in One Piece is related to the Ancient Kingdom, and it would highlight the name which the people of Ohara uncovered.

I could see it being like in "Science fell in love, so I tried to prove it." (season 2 specifically). That season had nothing particularly dark, until the last 1 or 2 episodes. They had a disclaimer at the start of the episode and just went for it. One Piece could do something similar with the revolution. The main difference would be that that it didn't come out of fucking nowhere. That was one of THE MOST UNNECESSARY plot twists I've EVER seen!
I believe a good Celestial Dragon is Shakky as I believe she is based off Greek Amazon empress Penthesilea who is noted to carry an axe in battle so I believe she was known in her pirate days as Silver Axe and she was the daughter of Ares/Mars so believe she is the daughter of the Gorosei that repersents Mars.

That dont make sense. Oda bases his work in real life history and mythology, but never once he made everything the way it is in mythology. Shirahoshi, being Poseidon, would be the sister of Ju Peter, and this cannot be true. You should never be to literal with characters names and roles in one piece.

What if Roger, Garp and rocks crew did do battle which resulted in the building or underground area Imu was staying in ended up being destroyed and exposed allowing people to see Imu, Imu then went on a rampage intending to destroy the island (and yes I know at the moment the assumption is that God valley was destroyed by the weapon or power that destroyed lulucia) killing everyone and everything to ensure his/her existence was not survived by anyone and in the process celestial dragon family's were wiped out (that's why we don't see members from many families despite there having been 20 Kingdoms that joined forces in the past, over the years some families may have married into others and so a few family names would have dropped off but still we should be seeing members from like 10-15 families but we don't and I think they died on God valley), rocks stuffed Shanks into a chest when this happened. Somehow some kind of agreement was reached allowing those remaining to live, Rocks having seen Imus terrifying power understood he'd never claim Imus throne despite being extremely powerful himself and set sail leaving god valley and got "lost" in some part of the world (hence kaido's speech about pirates being defeated will abandon you and sail away or something like that)

What does it take for a individual to change their mind, their heart or their ways.
Love a lot of love and a lot of care. Otohime gave everything she had even being that frail had enormous amount of courage to go right to the home of the celestial dragons to bring him safely home and she could have been caught right there and then but did it any way.
The hardest thing anyone can do is change someone for the better. Ask yourself can you forgive that one person in your life and make the effort do make them a good person no matter the heart break or in spit a heartbreak or betrayal?
Real courage right there and a lot of emotional strength.
an idea I have is what if Mjosgard would go to the auction house and bought slaves just to protect them from other celestial dragons and release them afterwards.
As a Haïtian still living here and loves to know about our history well done Matt because the things the French did to our ancestors and what our ancestors did to the French in retaliation would make what Doffy did to Homing look like mercy killing and yes we are the only known slave rebellion to have succesfully overtaken their masters
We have to count how many people the Celestial Dragons have killed and will kill in the future vs how many Dragon would. The argument that Dragon is going to far only has merit if it's larger than the cost of leaving the CDs in power. I kinda lean on Dragon being in the right to kill all of them unless they clearly demonstrate allyship on an individual level.
Given a trial, I have no doubt that there would be many celestial dragons who would express no remorse for their actions and their willingness to do more in the future. They seem to at best regard the law as lip service and are under no obligation to follow it. If the world government is to change for the better, than the celestial dragons must be held accountable for their actions. Anything that would ensure real changes is going to result in them losing some kind of power or authority and there are those who will fight to the end. Now they could be put on trial afterwords to give them a fair chance to defend themselves, however given what many of them have done and how the world government's justice system believes in punishing people for the sins of their ancestors as well as their own actions, I have little doubt that many would face the chopping block.
