Ya I got the Walnut loaded model down here in Orange county Cali. Got the bullet press too, for the same reason. I tell my wife "the more I shoot the more I save.". A sadlak Spring guide Walnut handguard that looks right. I put some turquoise in the round holes in the stock. I was able to put five pills in under an inch at 25 yards of hand and iron sights. I would love to take it out some day were I could plingk away. But I'm trap here in paradise for now, with a 25 yard indoor range few minutes away. Oh I tuned the trigger with JB bore cleaner to super sweet. Hope to see you someday and do some shooting with the M1A s.

Very nice 👍. Do you feel like the super match is worth the extra money? I'm thinking hand loaded it would really be great. I love the M1A with the Walnut it's a beautiful rifle. M1A would be a great choice for the 1 rifle that does everything from hunting whitetail to moose or plinking or competition or self-defense where it would be very difficult to beat. The guys that love those plastic AR-15s don't know what there missing. Thanks

Brian. I love the wood grain finish and classic lines of this rifle. And yes, I like the sights and the trigger. With practice, it's a fun and accurate gun to shoot... and the classic nature of it makes it even better. Highly recommend it for you. Best of luck.

Very nice rifle. If you hold at 6 and adjust elevation to bullseye and your groups will be much smaller and on bullseye. Even with NM sights they obscure to much . All of your competitive shooters with aperture sights hold at 6 for that reason. if I were to take the family to Arizona I'll look you guys up and see what all you got to offer. My family loves to fish. Thanks

5 inches at 100? It’s a match rifle also? My cheap ar does way better than that with steel cased....

Have you ever had a problem shooting left handed with the M1A with ejected rounds hitting you

I would be careful using reloads in your M1A. I have the Loaded model and my manual specifically advises against it due to the gas tuning

I beg the differ sir the M1A is designed and perform best on correct pressured rounds for the barrel length and rifling. Heavier bullets even sporting match ammo is a bit hot for the M1A. The 145 grain and 147 Mil Spec are a good fit. Try it and let me know

My m1a likes heavier loads like 168 grain BTHPs

Agreed! Mine seems to like the Sierra Match as well / 168 grain. The lighter bullets were all over the place.

My next rifle is going to be the M1A for target shooting hunting do anything and everything gun. In the past I've always had really good accuracy and success hunting with Nosler. How does your M1A like Nosler partition 165 and 180? I would probably be mostly in the 165 to 168. I would only use 180 if I was hunting moose or bear. But maybe not I lived in Alaska before and 165s work pretty well. Thanks

Well I thought about it getting an m1a but need somthing that can do a little better than that. National match m1a supost to have glass bedding and it still shoots like crap. I guess I am better off building an ar10.

That seems good for the conditions. A bipod or sled, scope and perfected ammo and it would be smaller groups. Im not sure youre going to get any better with an ar10.

Unless you are a hell of a good gunsmith, you better spend the bucks and buy a prebuilt AR10 from a recognized armorer. There are too many parts out there that don't work well together. I've been there. And, you will spend upwards of 2k to get one that will be a consistent tack driver. As far as the M1a goes, it was built to do one thing - hit targets consistently with iron sights at long distance. I have a M1a National Match, and I can consistently hit 4 MOA steel targets out to 1,000 meters and beyond using milspec ammo shooting from the ground over a pack. From standing position, I can be in shooting position and have a hit on target in little more than 10 seconds. And, I can hold most of the shots within 2 MOA at any distance. Try that with your best scope gun. M1a's weren't made to be bench-mounted paper punchers. They have a specific niche' in the shooting world.
