    Change out the Springfield Armory rail mount for a much better Sadlak mount. An all steel mount that in far better than most others. Then change your scope rings to a serial numbered matched pair of GA Precision scope rings. Available only on GS Precision's web site. Attatch the scope rings to the most forward and most rearward slots on the piccatinny rail for success.
    If you are using a standard walnut stock. Look to Bradly adjustable cheek rests. No drilling the stock. Uses Velcro straps for attaching to the stock. Adjustable for all sizes.

      I hear good things about the sadlak. It was next on my list but I made a few changes and got this thing really dialed in

      If you want to get the Bradley adjustable cheek rest. The Chocolate Raptor color matches the walnut stock the best. They have all kinds of colors and camouflage styles. Adjustable for all cheek heights suitable for everyone.

    Your helper is awesome!
    Interference with the tripod and squeezing the stock will cause a wandering zero .

      I thought it might but the groups held quite tight. I’m not sure I could have done any better with irons

    I have a standard m1a I put a wood stock on and spent 180$ on parts. the rifle was 1300$ new when I bought it . I did all the work and now I get 1 3/4 at 200y. I shoot no hand loads. It is an accurate rifle.

      Nice! I’m going to run 147s next week just to confirm it’s accurate with even the lightest factory loads I have

    Those Sage chasses are known to lose accuracy without having an armorer to mate the system to the rifle. The M14 is a very temperamental platform in this way. If you ever have it sent out for conversion to an M21, M24, or M14-EBR, just know that it has to be sent back to the armorer/gunsmith about every 4,000 rounds to be thoroughly serviced and checked over to keep the accuracy gains those accurized platforms can boast.

      @Threat.level.midnite  Місяць тому +3

      Yeah that’s not a viable option for me to be sending that thing out like that. It runs great how I have it now though

    sage chassis where very temperamental even for the army. they have to be torqued just right or the groups fall apart. they are all that way. the snipers were having problems with them thats one of the reasons the army got rid of them..they look cool though.. yours is the best setup.. try those groups again with a scope. you will get better results.

      Glad to hear it wasn’t just a me problem. Today I went out with some glass on the gun and it shot phenomenal groups and at distance it performed as good as I could want

      @Threat.level.midnite ill update you when I get it. I live in oregon and didn't have time to go to the store today, and they have stupid background checks. They have been putting me through a queue. [Wife had a stalker we both called the cops on the guy... already have my concealed carry... went to buy another gun and boom... queued... It's amazing how I get queued buying a tool made for self-defense...] I've seen a lot of good reviews on it, and it's definitely affordable. Which means I can get more expensive accessories.

    Best thing about the lighter 147-155s is they wont bend your oprod.

      The M-14 was developed to use 175 grain bullets. I use 175 mk bullets, or m118 lr military ammo. It wont bend the op rod, your good

      Ok the 147 load is 43 grains IMR 4064 with a 2.76 OAL. I’ve also used 42.5 grains of varget and they both produce mid 2600 velocities

    • @bubbacop

      Thanks! I bought 500 pulled 147gr and can’t find any data in the manuals, I’ll be shooting out of my early M1A super match that I too recently scoped with a Vortex low cost scope and a Basset machine low mount.

    Great video man! I have a Socom 16 and love it. Although not as accurate as my 2.5k AR10 it is Orders of magnitude more reliable. (I also haven’t done anything to improve accuracy like you have)

      Thanks I’m glad you liked it! And I think with just a little bit of tuning they can all shoot super tight (at least that was my case)

    WTF happened at 10:38 minutes in??? It looked like a live round bounced up out of the mag/action following a spent casing and then just fell back into place…? The bolt stayed open too. That was weird to see

    • @Threat.level.midnite
      @Threat.level.midnite  6 місяців тому

      You sir are a keen observer because that’s exactly what happened hahaha. I have some old GI mags where the last round slips past the feed lips but not with enough force to eject…it also does it fast enough to lock the bolt when it happens
