Fun fact:
The dealiest weapon against fleshy enemies in this game is your feet, it's alway 1 hit kill.
They technically count as 2 hits, but it's fun nonetheless
10MM HV Penetrator will always be an iconic weapon in video games for me. Also, the sounds, effects, bullet impacts, even to this day, still looks and sounds excellent.
The gunshots in this game sound better than in most shooters released nowadays.
I thought people think them as realistic.
Fear is one of those once-in-a-generation games that sets itself apart not by being the best looking (Which, even then, it looks out-friggin-standing for 2005), but by being incredibly memorable - From the gunplay, to the way it doles out its spooks and scares, to just all-around being a great time. All I have to say... Is VK-12.

Animations may not be the most top of the line, even for its time, but man, the Shotgun in this game is just pure dopamine injections.
F.E.A.R 2 Shotgun animation is a fucking disgrace.
The absolute best single-barrel shotgun. Trumps anything from any game before or since.

You mean the turret introduced in Extraction Point shooting at your enemies? I had a lot of fun observing how opponents deal with them.

One of my all-time favourite games. You can replay it once, twice or thrice and it will never get old.
The pistol sounds so damn good.
It sounds even cooler when EAX is on. The problem is that current systems do not support EAX.
FEAR is one of those games where you can replay it as much as you want and you still won't get bored of it. This game was basically Doom 3's sister due to how good it looks. Still hold ups to this day too.
Yea if your sister was way better looking than you, more fun to be around, and had a way more successful job. Seriously how can you compare doom3 to fear? Brutal doom mod for doom1 maybe.. If it had slow mo. Nothing against doom3 but it’s not fear, or even Doom64.
@@HistorysMysterys Doom 3 was mainly a survival horror than a classic fps and it was older than Fear though. 2003 games compared to 2005 were very different, 90s-2000 evolution in gaming was faster, it's like 5 years comparing nowadays.
@@mattonthemoon2252004, not 2003. Very bad luck for Doom 3 it was released the same year with Half-Life 2 (aim for 2003 but source code was leaked)
Doom 3 looks outdated as f actually. The reason they put too much normal map in their low poly models make the game looks weird. But lucky for them the game itself is dark, i mean very dark so by that they can hiding a lot of weak points in term of graphics at that time. Also Doom 3 got a lot of graphics improvement after 2004 tho, it’s not even a original game as you see today.
@ yep but it was normal for the time. I remember the competition between Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament or Unreal vs Quake 2 vs Half Life. It is called the “golden age” of fps for a reason :-) btw Doom3 wasn’t a bad game, in my opinion it was only bad structured since in the second part of the game it should have returned to its origins (like the mod “perfected doom3”). That’s the reason HL2 won the match, it was not only because of graphics. Doom franchise had playability and fast pace as its strongest point, Doom3 simply didn’t match those parameters.
I remember the days when this game made me jump out of my chair lol, good old days. : (

Top-notch shooter, just played recently and liked it a lot. With the exceptions of pistols and maybe the shotgun, it looks like most F.E.A.R. weapons are projectile-based and not hitscan... or maybe those are only cool blazing lights to simulate real shooting while they are actually hitscan, but doesn't seem like that.
