Theoretically that makes sense, but I've been trying that since MK11 and my reaction time is just too slow. I'm champion now with reptile.
Not only that, but I feel like mk needs you to be quick with the inputs. For instance, if there’s a millisecond of a delay when I am hit confirming, then my last attack in Johnny’s two combos won’t come out.
Dont tap the buttons like if u need to press square triangle circle slide ur finger from square to triangle then tap circlc if it hits

What if i want to hit confirm 212?
A good practice tip that may help is try practicing the Hit confirm on hit first only and on block do nothing, drill on both sides. Afterwards practice adding the hit confirm on hit and block, drill on both sides

He's asking you to explain what you mean by that. I assume you mean practice on P1 and p2 side, but I'm not sure

When I say drill on both side, I mean to practice on one side over and over again for a certain amount of times then switch to the other side and do the same thing. (Doesn't have to be P2, just switch P1 to the right side). Example of this could be. practice hit confirming Scorpions 2, 1 on the left side 25 times in a row quick break then switch sides and do the same thing.
So I understand hit confirming and have been playing MK for a long time, but I’ve been struggling with mk1 for some reason. It’s not working for me consistently - with scorpion I’ve been practicing with 21 for hit confirms, and a lot of times I do the inputs perfectly (as seen by my inputs in practice mode) but for some reason when I do 21 into bf4, the game seems to ignore my directional inputs and scorpion finishes the string (as if I did 214) instead of having hellfire come out after 21. Why would this happen? Btw I do have release check off.
Can you hit confirm one normal into special? Like from one button poke or a whiff punish.

Yes you can hit confirm special moves, it's very important to learn. For example, Johnny Cage's Shadow Uppercut (DB3 meter burn) is a combo launcher, but it is unsafe on block. Take a look at Johnny's string 2144. The last hit of it leaves him safe, so the situation would look a little something like:
I recognize that i hit the opponent with 214, so i hit confirm into rising uppercut for a combo.
Or, I do 214 and the opponent blocked it, so I will end the string by doing the last hit of it (2144).
That way on hit, you confirm into a special move to get a full combo, and if they block, you recognize that and just finish the string, leaving you safe.

Cool, I've been trying to practice hit confirm with block mode auto, but random kombo looks much better.
Auto block just means that it will block immediately after being hit. Random combo the best way to practice hit confirming because it either blocks the whole string or doesn't randomly
I’ve been hit confirming since mk11, but I found that hit confirming with special moves has been super hard in this game, it’s almost making me feel like there’s something wrong with it.
The timing inputs really seem much different from 11

The new combo system is killing me right now so aggravating practice mode doesn’t let you highlight moves
How do you set ur dummy to block and hit after a string you do
Go to record, and record on the reversal slot. Then go to training settings and set reversal mode ON, and the reversal move to RECORDED

Do you use dpad or stick and also when o try to air attacks on dpad I can’t so should I just stick to the stick?

My rank is god. I think it's good that you tell players who don't know about hitconfirm. Great job! Sometimes i have difficulty with kenshi's one touch hitconfirm, you know when a sento accidentally hits the enemy during pressure and you need to confirm it in time with s42 or f221 and get full combo

Great vid i did this hella times before seeing this vid still not %100 consistent cuz when u react late the input reader on this game u need to press early but i will get it %100 consistent in couple days for sure more of these educational quality vids good shit
It takes a lot of practice, some advice is to practice it a little bit each day while watching tv or something. Mindlessly training yourself to have the muscle memory will make it much more natural to do in matches
How do you determine if something is hit confirmable?
I play Mileena and have had people tell me that you can hit confirm just the low on her f24 string.
I tested by having the cpu ducking and set to block random combo, (so the high whiffs and you only are reacting to the low) and it does not seem to be hit confirmable. Yet some people insist it is. So how do I know if I am just bad or if they are just wrong.
It comes down to whether you can react to the first hit of a string hitting the opponent. Im not familiar with her F24 string, but generally hit confirming a single button is difficult. For mileena you would probably be looking to hit confirm a string into ball for a combo, or just ending the string short to be safe
@@TheKompetitor that is what I do. I know in some games, like street fighter, hit confirming off of a crouch medium kick can be tough, but important for many characters.
But with mk it, as you said, generally seems that either you hit confirm a string, or a certain attack, like freeze, just inherently sets up the combo.
It came up discussing her offensive pressure and what weaknesses it has.
She is a solid character, but I think some people just overestimate her pressure and mixup. Her real strength is whiff punishes.

It's one of those fighting game concepts that is difficult to get down but once you do you'll notice yourself getting better a lot quicker
I find hit confirm more difficult in MK vs all other fighting games. I think it's the dial-a-kombo system that makes me feel like I always have to dial the combo string in asap, but with MK1 it's feeling less like dial-a-kombo and easier (for me, at least) to time things and hit confirm.
