2024 Cadillac XT4 Sport AWD POV Night Drive /// Allcarnews

Huge thanks to @cadillac for loaning me this 2024 XT4 Sport AWD which has gotten a host of upgrades that aim to make it more competitive against the BMW X1, new GLA, Audi Q3, Volvo XC40 and others. Outside is a fresh new face with revised grills and new split LED lights upfront while the rear remains largely the same. The big changes are inside with a massive 9k resolution curved display that is a standout feature… but is it enough?⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder
235HP and 258 lb-ft of torque
9-Speed Automatic
Selectable twin clutch AWD System
0-60 in around 7 seconds
Combined/City/Highway: 25/23/28 mpg
Base: $44,495
As Tested: $56,240
*AWD system always defaults to FWD on startup, you have to manually select AWD when needed.

Highs:
+The XT4 remains one of the most stylish contenders in the segment.
+The new curved 33in infotainment screen is gorgeous, quick to respond, and a class leader in size.
Lows/Improvements Needed:
-The XT4’s powertrain is not inspiring and could use more power, a hybrid option, and more refined transmission tuning.
-The Curved Screen is nice to look at but is largely blocked by the steeringwheel resulting in quirky ergonomics.
-The interior has a large supply of GM parts bin buttons from low priced Chevy/Buick products reducing a premium feel.
-For a “Sport” trim, an overly firm suspension does not translate to good dynamics, steering is not direct nor provides good feedback.

It looks great, but the new Buick Envision gets a similar screen, a nice look, and the same chassis. I just don’t see how a Cadillac is worth the cost.

Can’t get it with AWD. Can’t get the options that are available on the XT4.

@@robertherman1146 You can get the Envision with AWD. The safety features and tech now are practically the same. Sure, the AKG is great, but I’ll take cheaper gas and insurance.

Nope. Very subtle white light inside though.
