Wondering how it compares to the biggest Cayenne. I've seen other motor journalists say the Cayenne is probably of the best performance SUV - but there are other aspects they seem to forget, like overall usability. (Edit): I need to watch the video before commenting...sheesh.

The window can only open as far as the door below it will allow. Looks like the wheel arch shape encroaches into the door, stopping how far down the glass can go.

Rear door windows are limited to the size of the window itself, and it’s position relative to the rear wheel well. Hence why you can’t put the window down further.

Luke, I have always been a Range Rover Autobiography man, but will go take a serious look at the SQ8 with all the toys. The 4 wheel steer is what I am looking for. Audi has always had very hard seats, and if they come up to snuff the RR could go.
Ross Tuck very nice, I drove one a year ago, this is for sure easier to drive, like you said with the 4 wheel steer, it’s a game changer on a SUV.
Picked up my Daytona Gray SQ8 last week. Most fun vehicle I’ve driven.

The hands off detection is not detecting how hard you grip the steeringwheel, it feels if you apply tourqe to it.

The rear door design prevents the rear windows dropping further inside the panel. Great video. Beautiful. But. RS Q8 hold my beer.

I've got my Q8 in the Dragon Orange. Easy to find in car parks.
Luke you need to leverage your relationship with Audi and get hold of an early RS6 and do what you do best shoot the opening and end sequences, not with narration. I have just seen the auditography piece and its terrible. It could not be more boring. It's time to take your star and make it shine, get that halo car early and your view no.'s will rocket...I know you did the launch, but it was not an easy location for you and this is different footage, reference the blue auditography R8 piece with driving shot in the snow....it is still a masterpiece, but they have never replicated it in style or anything else. An RS6 should always be launched in the winter mountains....not a dry dusty sandy beach....the reason that was done was because Audi are introducing the RS6 to the american market... check your own first 35 seconds and it sets, emotion, location and car straight away... far better!!.. :-)

The window doesn’t go down all the way in the back because of room in the door. The cutout for the wheel well shape in that back door doesn’t allow for enough room

Luke this SQ8 still has a fake exhaust pipes. From existing 4 only 2 are working as far as I know.
They should either hide it or leave it....

Yeah, it's not that's it's a blast to drive like a sports car it's just so pleasurable and as it's a SUV I don't really look for it to be like a sports car.

If you see this all this time later, do you think if you put the SQ8 in its most comfortable, quiet mode, that it would be as comfortable and quiet as the Q8, including the Q8 in its dynamic or most comfortable, quiet mode? If not, could it even get close?
Lol, that Q8 is much larger in person than what I thought, but it's still very nice and though I think most Audi interiors are nice, they nailed it with the Q8...especially with integrating the navigation system into the dash. They need to do that with all their SUVs and get away from that horrid stuck on screen look. Anyway, nice review, thanks for posting.

Good review. Thank you. Maybe you, or other posters here, can answer some questions for me: I am torn between the 2021 Q8 and SQ8, loaded Prestige trims. The better mpg of the Q8 is tempting, but my priority would be the car's ability to handle less than ideal roads and weather conditions, especially hilly mountain highways at speed to less well maintained backroads in ski country during the worst winter snow storms. And though at 59 I'm not much for "off roading" any more, I would like to know that my car can go on dirt roads and such to get me to a favored campsite or fishing spot if I need it to. Would adding the Sport Package (with the Active Roll Stabilization and Sport Rear Differential), will that improve the SQ8's ability to handle the above road and weather conditions, and make it acceptable? Without that added package would the Q8 and SQ8 be roughly the same in said conditions? Also, though I love, love the look of the Black Optics package on either car, that is only cosmetic, and if I forgo that, I can get either with the larger sidewall number 285/45/21 tires instead of the 285/40/22's that come with the Black Optics. Do you think the difference between the 45/21's and 40/22's would be noticeable in the above less than idea road and weather conditions, or so negligible that I should just go for the Black Optics with the 285/40/22's? Please, I would welcome as much input as possible on the above. Thanks again.
SQ8 Vorsprong (the top all encompassing trim level) is the way to go
@@mikew742 Can I even get that here in the US. I think the SQ8 Prestige is the highest trim here, and the Vorsprong is in Europe. Not sure what all the differences are, or if I can even get the Vorsprung here. I do wish I could get the racing steering wheel that is flattened on the bottom. Best I can tell that's only in Europe too. On a side note, I've seen some pre market pics of the anticipated 2023 model, and though similar, it has some exterior changes to the lines of the body that frankly I do not like as much as what comes on the 2021 and 2022.

Ease and comfort of driving, technology wise. I’m not saying it is more fun’ it’s not, just a better all round SUV that also has more space and I really did not like the front or side angle on the Cayenne, only the back looked nice to me so the Q8 just ticked more boxes for me.
How about X6 M50D? could it be compared?

Okay, but let's agree that there is almost 0 utility with these vehicles when you have little-to-no storage in the rear/boot without the back seats down. Given you didn't even show the boot, kinda proves the point...

Seems like 3 out of the 4 pipes are fake. That is just pathetic. I would not buy this car just because of that. Audi is just too lazy to build a functional exhaust
due to the amount of filters that is inside the diesel, so much black smoke would stays inside them and.. they need to be cleaned up sometime (aka regeneration), this is when enormous amount of black smoke comes out, usually when flooring hard. If all exhaust pipes were real, it would end up making entire rear of the car black.
Think I'll take a RS6

The outer exhaust pipe looks like fake.. and I am pretty sure that is.
Audi has managed to totally ruin the interior design. They used to be slick and harmonic with wonderful lines but now they seem to go for the edgy 1983 transformer look. It's retro in a very clumsy manner. Not worthy a premium brand such as Audi. This shift towards ugliness is shocking. The only model that has kept sanity is the A4, but guess that's gonna be ruined quite soon then.
