The biggest difference is the beautiful frameless door on the SQ8.
Ken Tembe yes. Definitely...I’ve been waiting since April for my Q8 Vorsprung petrol. I’m informed I can drive it on 1st March 2020.

Ken Tembe my Q8 will be the 3 litre turbo petrol Vorsprung...with added extras such as front and rear dash cams, cobra track, black roof bars and black rings. It’s the Dragon Yellow finish. That’s why I have been waiting since April...the EU decided the petrol engines polluted too much and Audi has been tweaking them. An exotic oil burner (SQ8 and RSQ8) sound a wonderful proposition, but in UK many cities are allegedly going to ban Diesels and lets be honest, where is anyone going to be able to legally exercise an S or an RS? I shall be extremely content with my 0-60mph in 6 secs. HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

Audi has kindly informed me today (30 Jan 2020) that my (Dragon Orange 3litre petrol Vorsprung with a load of other essential options built in) Q8 has landed in UK. Roll on 1st March!

Natural BB I agree, that’s a beautiful machine there, but it’s the wrong class. That’s more comparable to the Q5, whereas these would be compared to the x7, which is not as good looking. I do agree with the other guy though, I’ll take the RS6 over these any day.

Great comparison. I was in Audi the other day looking at both. When the salesman told me the price difference and that the cheaper of the 2 has potentially 7 seats and a bigger boot, with 2 kids it was a no brainer for me! SQ8 looks great, but cant warrant the extra money for less space.
It’s surprising that he said that the SQ8 weighs slightly more than a SQ7 especially when there is a reduction in rear roof/hatch on the SQ8?!

no because that’d have been the coupe version of the q5, whilst the q8 is indeed the coupe version of the q7 being much longer than the q5
Commander Shepard bmw is the same, x4 and x6. Guess it’s just a car trend

I love your commentary and videos and spot on with the Audi's. I miss my 2017 Audi SQ5 but, she was always spendy, slighty not as dependable as I thought it would be. But, sporty, gorgeous, sounded great and fun to drive and only the second SUV I ever owned but the wife didn't want another.

So to make things clear: the SQ8
- weighs 45 Kg more
- has 200 litres less cargo space
- actually has worse fuel efficiency
- less practical overall (rear view, head space...)
So in conclusion Audi charges you 5.000£ more for the worse car. I bet this car will beat the sq7 in total sales 🤦🏼♂️

Great review as always. The SQ8 would be my choice. I love the look of it, especially in that black with the black accents on the wheels. And it still has more than enough practically for me.

Another great review from a much underrated reviewer.
Presentation is everything. Even when the food isn't that good, if its presented well that's what you remember. Think about specialty cakes, e.g. wedding/anniversary/etc. Not particularly that tasty, but they sure do look beautiful.

Great comparison as to technology, details of vehicles and presentation. I have a 2 year old Q 7 and will get a 2020 instead of the Q 8. It would be good to do a comparison of the Premium, Premium plus and Prestige levels.

Parcel shelf does go into the boot on the sq7. You put it in the recess to the left hand side then it just slides in.

Great review. What about a spare wheel? Do they both have one? Full size or space saver? Important to me as I am often out on remote country roads.
76k for a twin turbo v8 diesel SQ7 with all the torque in the world... If I needed a fast luxury practical SUV, I'd get that. Gosh, that's the perfect family carrier.
