That Xtreme 3 has a strong bass peak at around 50 Hz while the Sony rolls off a cliff below 70 Hz it has no deep bass at all, therefore you can hardly feel any depth in the sound, its all boomy and muffled since its tuned with too much mid-upper bass.

The JBL Xtreme 2 sounds dull and veiled whilst the 3 manages great treble clarity and nice mids. The thing is that this clarity can appear harsh at higher volumes since it doesn't have enough bass to back up that clarity. At lower levels you hear more of the music, it's more refined and does a nicer job than the Xtreme 2, which has a similar sound signature to the XB43. Same thing here with the Sony: treble is dull and vocals are pushed back, which makes it sound fuller than the Xtreme 3 whilst the JBL's bass is as strong and reaches deeper, so I'd pick the Xtreme 3 in this case. The JBL Boombox 2 has rich mids and highs like the Xtreme 3, but it has the bass to back it up at higher volumes, resulting in non-harsh sound. So no, it's not about harshness, the Xtreme 3 just doesn't have enough bass at higher volumes to back up the improved refinement made in comparison with the Xtreme 2.

@@celovek472 Actually it can. But the range so near. We can hear while our ear close up to passive bass radiator. The real 20Hz not heard in 20cm and more. In short, the 20Hz frequency doesn't fly away to the air and we can't hear it.

When my ear go away from passive bass radiator, I can't hear 70Hz anymore. Bose Soundlink Mini in spesification can produce 80Hz, JBL flip 5 can 55Hz. I have heard Soundlink mini and yeah, the bass was so deep. I can hear 80Hz frequency clearly in 50cm from speaker even in low volume.
in slovakia the xb43 normaly costs around 150€-200€. Is it worth it in this prize tag. Im curently choosing between jbl xtreme 3 that costs 300€ and the xb 43 and the xg500 that costs 330€. So what do you recomend more?
JBL es muy chillante en los agudos. SONY se enfoca en el balance, controla todas las notas. Controla agudos al nivel de no saturar a máximo volumen, cómo si ocurre con JBL en todas sus gamas.
La calidad que tiene el JBL el sony no llega , si el sony se le escucha con mas graves eso xq no tiene tanta nitidez en los agudos y asi destacan los graves
