I do like the design of the Sony. The integrated handle, and the subtle lights are really good points in my book. I also like the battery care feature, the longer battery life overall, the ability to link with older model speakers, and the ability to use it as a charging bank for my phone. And for extra points I like that you can play with the sound signature on the Sony.
You can link JBL with others as well, not all tho, and that might be a blow, currently you can only link it with Charge 5 and Flip 5 or other JBL speakers with same Tech.

That's what a lot of people don't get. Sony is REALLY REALLY good at letting you EQ and make it sound how you want. The fact that he mentioned the Xtreme had a lot of bass with a flat EQ isn't a good thing, it means it probably EQs like garbage.

Having the previous srs-xb43 SONY did great with the handle. That was the only thing I thought mine was missing and many more bass. This seems like a great upgrade.
XB43 don't have a handle, distort/sounds bad at highest volume levels, higher treble drops of and so do lower bass. HK Studio cost the same and sounds better.

I think I can still use an Extreme 3 or a Sony XG300 I think I can even fit either in my backpack or luggage to take with me anywhere and also when I go to a backyard bbq or party as I said. I'm not a bass fiend, so bass is not everything to me, so I think Sony brings adequate bass even though I agree that the JBL clears in that category. I liked both when I checked them out at best buy, but I heard battery life is a huge issue with all JBL speakers. I heard the Sony does way better with the battery life so I may get the sony but i'm still not sold 100% yet. Hard decision.
Buy xg500 instead almost same price as xg300 better and louder if not xtreme 3 worth half the price and has massive sound and bass if neither works get a partybox encore which is small and beats all of them.
Huge FYI. It’s best to do your own battery run test. I have the Sony and the battery dies FAST. That booklet itself states. 25 hours for half volume. Only FIVE hours max volume 😢
I feel like the carrying handle is more of a win then people think when I had the extreme I barely used it because it seemed big and I always wanted a one hand grab speaker being able to grab the son by your pinky finger makes you more likely to use it because your gonna wanna pick it up id get the all black xg300 over jbl now days
It seems clear that you have not tried to adjust the sound of the Sony using the equalizer it is equipped with. You also devalued sony because it doesn't float but you know very well that sony doesn't float because it has a more powerful battery and has greater audio range and you didn't say it.
if you're out on a small boat and you take your Sony SRS XB43 Bluetooth Speaker with you and you roll it off the boat by mistake and you can't swim we'll say good bye to your Bluetooth speaker that will be alot of money down the drain I've definitely seen this happen before but Luckily the guys weren't too far out to dive in for it but if they were out any further we'll that will be another story
Pls can anyone help me? I have a problem with my jbl xtreme 3 GG version, the buttons are not working only start up button works. I can press the buttons but they are not reacting. I already tried restarting and factory restarting nothing works bcs the buttons won t work. Also i can t turn off the speaker i can only turn it on and conect to my phone. I can only turn off my speaker by pressing start up button 8times times and hold it for 10 secs. The speaker plays music and videos normally without problems. PLS I NEED HELP
I know I’m late but I had a similar problem with my boombox 1 it took multiple presses to turn it on the first thing I tried was to factory reset it and it worked for a bit then it happened again and factory reset img it didn’t work and I updated the speaker and it fixed it, did you end up fixing the problem?
@@HaydenSzucs thx for responding the speaker is already fixed the problem was that the partyboost button was damaged by water and it was basiclly on the whole time so the other buttons wouldn t work. We removed the button completly and now the speaker is working.
Hey brother I want to see you do some reviews on the new JBL Boombox 3 I've got the JBL Xtreme 3 and I'm not getting rid of it I know for a fact JBL beats Sony by a country mile even though JBL speakers don't have things like microphones for calling anymore like the old ones do JBL Xtreme 3 and Boombox 2 are still Beast Bluetooth speakers now I'm ready to see if the Boombox 3 is worth the money
The sony sounded like it had noticeably less base. It does have a base boost button so it would have been nice to see that demonstrated to see if it made a difference.
I really like the design of the sony but sound quality alone id choose the JBL, sony needs a firmware update to change the sound otherwise its really disappointing
I bought Couple of W KING T11 just released, got it in GREAT Prime sale price on Prime days for $181 each ..is really good, liking it alot👍 f*n Sony & JBL is overpriced , u paying for name not the Unit, F these!
So the Sony is better. The first song in the pool you said they were both flat EQ, but the Extreme still had a lot of bass....that's not a good thing. If it's a flat EQ it should be as neutral as possible, not still bassy.
Both are bassy speakers on my own testing. However the jbl has more of the "punchy" bass(like being hit on the chest) and the sony has the "rumbling" bass(like feeling the thunder)😅
You can tell jbl from the beginning is there any other company competing with jbl cause it seems all their speakers seem to be the best for your dollar in every category, love the sound can't wait for my charge 5 this Saturday unless it comes early but my flip 6 is holding it down.
Nothing changes even uses eq😂😂 If you tweak it bass getting Much worse😂😂 cuz nothing deep bass😂😂 Even the megabass botton nothing mega in the bass😂 Sony speakers NEVER PRODUCE DEEP BASS!!
DLX did his first impressions with megabass on and it still under proform it that department. I still on planning to review the new Sony speakers anyway
i laughed when the sony almost drowned :D but both are fine for me personaly the xtream 3 needs more deep bass hopefully the xtream 4 (dont know when this thing will come out) does a lot more deep bass
Sony will never beat JBL, their speakers have way more battery because they produce like 50% the volume of a similar price range jbl, XG500 struggles against charge 5 neverthless vs a boombox or partybox.
@@DizJakeOG you guys kill me. By default the Sony Speakers come with MegaBass on in the Clear+ setting. "EQ" means using the 3-band custom eq setting the user can alter. I played both of them on their default settings. 🤯

if you're out on a small boat and you take your Sony SRS XB43 Bluetooth Speaker with you and you roll it off the boat by mistake and you can't swim we'll say good bye to your Bluetooth speaker that will be alot of money down the drain I've definitely seen this happen before but Luckily the guys weren't too far out to dive in for it but if they were out any further we'll that will be another story
But the thing is you can always add bass to the Sony
Worth upgrade from XB33 to XG300?
XB33 is basically XE300-lite. So yes, XG300 is an upgrade.
@@HaydenSzucs it wouldn t probably hapend if i wouldn t turn on the lfm mode which can harm the speaker.
This video is an EXPERIENCE bro!
As soon as it's available in the US, I'm getting it!
Sony é sony. Poderosa em todos os aspectos..
the sony looks better but the jbl sounds the best to me. has clearer base and doesnt sound muddy at high volume like the sony does.
😂😂😂😂 Es todo lo contrario. Es el SONY el que no distorciona nada con la calidad de sus parlantes.
i knew you would love that handle 😂😂
Great review, thanks
ehhh my boy rockin some nbhd nick!!
@8:50 yes, I was thinking the same.
I'm a Sony guy but JBL for the win! 🏆
Sony king
Why?
@@felixleon8432 that's something you'll have to figure out for yourself
@@lvstreeter alright.. Do you have jbl speaker?
@@lvstreeter mine is jbl flip 5..actually I wanna buy the xtreme 3 but many people said there is no eq..
The sony sounded like it had noticeably less base. It does have a base boost button so it would have been nice to see that demonstrated to see if it made a difference.
Handle,battery and definitely looks.SONY win.
But the JBL float, big plus when boating.
Love your moves man😊😊😊😊
Song number 2 pls??!!
I really like the design of the sony but sound quality alone id choose the JBL, sony needs a firmware update to change the sound otherwise its really disappointing
I bought Couple of W KING T11 just released, got it in GREAT Prime sale price on Prime days for $181 each ..is really good, liking it alot👍
f*n Sony & JBL is overpriced , u paying for name not the Unit, F these!
Was a sony fun but nowadays.. not anymore they are falling short on every sound system they release this days..
So you haven't seen sony's newest mobile es line up
Jbl for the win!!!!
So the Sony is better. The first song in the pool you said they were both flat EQ, but the Extreme still had a lot of bass....that's not a good thing. If it's a flat EQ it should be as neutral as possible, not still bassy.
Sony always likes to go natural.
Moderation is Sony's aim.
to the sonys:
How good is the bass if you're listening to moderate to low volumes, is it there?
Both are bassy speakers on my own testing. However the jbl has more of the "punchy" bass(like being hit on the chest) and the sony has the "rumbling" bass(like feeling the thunder)😅
You can tell jbl from the beginning is there any other company competing with jbl cause it seems all their speakers seem to be the best for your dollar in every category, love the sound can't wait for my charge 5 this Saturday unless it comes early but my flip 6 is holding it down.
the tracks u used for this sound comparison are not the appropriate!!!
Awesome comparison bro. The XG-300 did highly disappoint me in the bass department
Yeah, the bass and clarity is little disappointing to me too, even when it's not being compared to anything else.
He never used the app for sony ,positive it has bass boost plus eq
Nothing changes even uses eq😂😂 If you tweak it bass getting Much worse😂😂 cuz nothing deep bass😂😂 Even the megabass botton nothing mega in the bass😂 Sony speakers NEVER PRODUCE DEEP BASS!!
@@flawless_ether it has MegaBass, wich is turned on by default. It was already on. JBL simply owns the bass department.
DLX did his first impressions with megabass on and it still under proform it that department. I still on planning to review the new Sony speakers anyway
Tribit stormbox blast
Man that was one refreshing video. To bad the sony sank.great comparison.✌
the Sony does not float because it has a more powerful battery and has greater audio autonomy. you didn't say that.
Do you have this speaker many people says it has muffled sound
Sem duvida o JBL tem o som muito melhor, obrigado me ajudou a escolher !!!
sound from mic like you underwater :)))
i laughed when the sony almost drowned :D but both are fine for me personaly the xtream 3 needs more deep bass hopefully the xtream 4 (dont know when this thing will come out) does a lot more deep bass
Sony will never beat JBL, their speakers have way more battery because they produce like 50% the volume of a similar price range jbl, XG500 struggles against charge 5 neverthless vs a boombox or partybox.
Doesn't sony have a bass boost plus the app
It's called MegaBass and it was already on.
@@NewStuffTV1 dam I'm disappointed then what u recommend I want to replace sony xb33
@@flawless_ether I haven't actually compared them yet. Planning on doing it tomorrow.
@@NewStuffTV1 In the video you said you had no boost on. Just flat eq. Which is it? Smh
@@DizJakeOG you guys kill me. By default the Sony Speakers come with MegaBass on in the Clear+ setting. "EQ" means using the 3-band custom eq setting the user can alter. I played both of them on their default settings. 🤯
Jbl sounds better than Sony
