- Grado Labs has been designing, manufacturing and distributing some of the industry’s most renowned headphones from a modest Brooklyn townhouse since 1953. Spanning three generations, the Grado Family does not advertise or sell at big sellers like Best Buy. Rather, their booming business grew from innovation, quality, and word of mouth; and still today, the Grado’s wouldn’t have it any other way. Ashley gets into the groove with a lesson in building a pair of Grado headphones in the family’s Brooklyn lab.
Grado headphones are amazing, and in terms of sound rank among others that cost many times as much. I really respect a company that keeps a fair price even after their product has turned into a trendy hipster item. As another commenter pointed out, you can get Grado phones for less than $100, and they will sound absolutely amazing and are built to last.
My first Grados were an SR 80, for around $130 at the time. Their sound killed the $300 cans I had before, and 6 years later they still hold up and sound like the day I got them.
IntoxicCH I still own my original Grados from 94, they are masterpieces. Replaced the cups at least 7 times. I own several now. Just the best, most "natural" cans in the world.
Amazing headphones. The presenter is unbearable.
I love the way she explained what a turntable is.
Is it just me or does she have them on the opposite way around? Left side on the right
Awesome and Incredible Headphone I have ever had and I have it now.
It is a great pleasure for listening the different kinds of MUSIC.
With the best wishes to everyone in GRADO LAB.
SINCERELY YOURS,

John looked puzzled when she said "that bass" cuz that is certainly not what Grados are known for.
Listen again… sr325x prefect bass
@@czondagnot the point, Grado is not known for their bass though
My favourite, affordable, even here in Borneo.
You can get the Grado 60s for only $79. They sound fantastic and the cord is virtually indestructible. They last forever.
I've sent my SR60i in for repair. But it's worth noting they charge a flat $20 to fix them out of warranty which is commendable. One of the rods that connect to the earcup came out.
This lady doesn't know what she's talking about, bass LOL
Got a pair of the 225e's, very happy with them.
Same i got 125x
@@zaimkarii1756 NICE! The X Series is something that I don't have but sounds really awesome.
I love the tradition and emphasis on sound quality. The top end Grados do feel like heritage headphones you can hand down to future generations. They have a beautiful history. I felt the presenter was great. You get to see her fun and cute personality.
I only liked the way she explained what a turntable is.
That bass?? Not their goal or reputation. 😂
Yea,but grado has very thight bass like very punch but not deep. Their goal is treble , mids and soundstage
Perhaps she means that the bass is balanced and punchy like you said. But yeah.
"Popular gadgets turned audible acessories" what the f*ck does that even mean?
journalism
She's making magic
gonna have to get myself a pair
Love it
Thanks!
"that bass" part cringe worthy
and worn backwards
@@XGamin1 took me 3 years to see that! 😂
oh dang!
Grado hasn’t been making headphones for over 60 years. They started making headphones in 1991.
I believe they started making headphones in the 80s - there is a video on their website that explains.
@@praszu There’s also a timeline on their website that states the first Grado headphone was released in 1991.
@@Mazak23 I think I misheard something in the video I watched.
Haha, the way it's meant to be heard! U mean only tuned to that man's ears haha.
lol they solder without a fume hood?! cancer in 3. 2. 1.
Yea I'm a little concerned about that. It's on them though.
what, grado hf bass is slim to none
But the problem is...if your watching a movie and you and a friend both are wearing thses...you can hear the other persons if their volume is alouder than yours !
Its the first video i see many cptures on how they wound the voice coils and build the phono cartridges! I guess it would be a (very) hadd job for John Grado to explain all these to this woman?!?
She's so full of herself
