The mathematics used in the advancement of science often don't even include numbers. They include groups, manifolds, and vector fields. You don't do science without mathematics.
@@andrasfogarasi5014 indeed. Good example are chemistry and physics. In chemistry you have to do work in order to specify if something is an atom of an element or a molecule. @@andrasfogarasi5014 is there a reason you were so condescending ? I understand science requires a lot of math. I had the same thing with my geometry class where 13 out of the 26 students failed at least, every quiz and test. Not 60’s or something, but 30’s and 40’s. I remember in elementary school when I wanted math to be harder because I understood it. When we were learning +\- by hundreds, I wanted to go to thousands. When we were learning decimals, I wanted to go further than hundredths. Fast forward to 7th grade and I just want math to be easy again. Edit: I feel like I should give an update about this topic. Looking back at my 7th grade year, I was just incredibly lazy and had next to no desire to do schoolwork. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m at a new school now but I feel that I am doing much better than before. Oh, and I actually get math again so I guess the point I made a year ago doesn’t stand today due to that fact.
I agree with the fact that math gets harder when algebra and calculus gets introduced as I once struggled in math as well, however I'd like to point out that it's necessary for the future. We wouldn't have made all of the modern inventions if it weren't for mathematics. Which is why it would be much better if math was made optional after a certain level so those who find it difficult don't have to suffer learning math.
Lucky me that in my country I managed to get admitted in a high school class that completely eliminated math, physics, chemistry and biology from the programme after entering 11th grade ( which is the equivalent of junior year in the US ), and I won't have math included in my exam after finishing 12th grade because fuck that shit, it still bring me trauma from middle school to this day.
Honestly speaking maths is still fun, no matter school math or the math you learn from university. But it all depends on one thing: If you understood it. I mean obviously people on like things they understand or can do, so naturally the basic math back in middle school, as simple as it was, was the most enjoyable times for most of the people because most of them understood since it doesn’t take a lot of effort to understand it. However if you look at a somebody in middle school who had always problems with solving math problems or trying to understand how the operators worked properly, they always would have a negative vision on math.
Honestly for me it is the facination with useless problems for example I once went I am gonna do angry birds in a command line then creating the function to graph the tragectory, using derivatives to get direction and speed and 2nd power algebra and clever factoring to get the pieces togheter. The thing I most hate about school is that they teach subjects to kids that don't have the passion and drag passionate ones behind.
It's just the easiness of some math forms like negative and positives Pythagorean theorem square roots once you get a hold of it it actually gets fun defeating the challenges of the problem I still have some of my problems because it gets a little confusing but just don't give up man

Math has singlehandedly blocked countless students from majoring in science
@@reapix6430 because they might actually be really good at science and simply struggle a little with math
@@patienceRachel You have absolutely no idea what science looks like, do you? Science isn't trivia quizzes. Science is about trying to describe the natural world as well as we're able to. And the language we describe it with is mathematics. Not just algebra. Not just calculus. It requires mathematics beyond your imagination.
In physics(the starting part) you are given some values and relations between them, and you have to find all the other values with said relations
@@andrasfogarasi5014 is there a reason you were so condescending ? I understand science requires a lot of math. Clearly majoring in a science means you are past the highschool stage, likely over the age of 14. Complex and sophisticated math isn't really involved in classrooms for children under 14.
