Just got through, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Pride and Prejudice. Now onto Wives and Daughters, North & South. Good, clean and wholesome entertainment. 👍🏼
was going to wish you fun viewing, but i see your post is two years old, lol. I have watched and read all you listed and more but, North and South, wives and daughters are both soooo very romantic, esp in their TV adaptations.
It was such a long book that the series did really well in getting in all the major parts of the story. Due to Elizabeth Gaskell's sudden death the book finished him standing outside in the rain, so I thought it was a nice ending, though the editor's summary implied he did actually go to Africa without seeing her and came back six months later with the rose to prove he loved her, which would have been a nice ending as well if Elizabeth had lived to write it.
I love this movie. It is a wonderful story ♡...I like Anthony Howell. He is a good actor! And an awesome person too. The actress is sweet. My favourite "Love story". 😍
I think we are the same person, as I too have North & South endlessly on repeat. Was thinking about re-watching this one and your magical video has spurred me on to do just that! Love it! x
Thank you for making a video about this mini-series. It's one of my favorites. And I just love the coloring and the editing in this video. Also the voice-over fits perfectly with each frame. This is masterfully done ♥️
I think it should be "until you've made her say 'yes' ". This is one of my favourite all-time adaptations. It's just so well done. The leads are so good together. You've done such a really good job putting this together.
I disagree, I think 'made her say yes' would imply that he had forced her against her will. I feel that 'made her safe', meaning to 'secure her love', sounds more apt.
I watched this video with the happy frin on my face! The series are old and I never thought someone gonna make a fanvideo for this couple. Thank you so much!
Gosh! This series is so adorable, and so well played. All the characters are so intriguing! I never wanted the series to end.💐💐💐 Thank you for sharing, much appreciated. Stay safe, stay strong, stay, blessed! Moira From England.
I think she came from South Africa and I've seen her I an American movie playing a detective I think. Shell very good in this role as Molly, such wonderful books like Gorge Eliott, alwen great for TV If well adaptor
I love this series and am always so happy with Roger and Molly get together. But is it only me who's miffed every time that they NEVER kiss?? I'm a romantic at heart, and I always love kiss scenes. I'm also a writer, and writing kiss scenes is the best part for me. So when a series or movie is missing it, I feel so jipped. Lol I still love this series and I'll always watch it over and over, but even after seeing it dozens of times, I find myself begging them to kiss knowing full well they never will.
But, anyways, how can someone look with so much love? They are wonderful actors, because this last scene was amazing.even without a kiss, we wait for it, though
The most Austenesque of Elizabeth Gaskell's novels, and a very beautiful adaptation of it. Similarity in characters and plot to Austen's Mansfield Park is quite striking. Was the part where Mrs. Hamley calls Molly as 'Fanny' on her deathbed intended by Gaskell as a subtle homage to Mansfield Park? I should like to think so.
@@glen7318 Perhaps. But the parallels are remarkable though. Molly vs Fanny, Cynthia vs Mary Crawford, Roger Hamley vs Edmund Bertram, the love triangle between the three where Roger/Edmund treated the Molly/Fanny with sisterly regard, the start of their relationship when Roger/Edmund befriends and consoles Molly/Fanny in distress, the elder brother (Tom Bertram/Osborne Hamley) falling into disgrace in the eyes of his father for supposed profligacy, and their deaths (Osborne) or near-deaths (Tom Bertram) after which Molly/Fanny comes for assistance, the initial concern of Squire Hamley/Sir Thomas Bertram that one of the brothers would fall in love with Molly/Fanny which later changes into a desire/acquiescence for such an event.. It almost made me feel that _W&D_ was Gaskell's take on _Mansfield Park._ There appears to have been a similar influence from Austen's _P&P_ and Charlotte Bronte's _Shirley_ in Gaskell's _North and South_ as well.
@@vineethg6259 Possibly there was some influence. However Mrs Gibson called Molly Fanny because that was the name of her own little daughter who had died. I think there's more of Pride and Prejudice, in the relationship between Dr and Mrs Gibson being ab it like that of Mr and Mrs Bennet
@@glen7318 I meant that Elizabeth Gaskell _may_ have chosen the name 'Fanny' in that instance as a subtle homage to Fanny Price, the heroine of _Mansfield Park,_ as there appears to be a heavy influence of that book in the plot and characters of W&D. But its just my thought, and I may be wrong. I do agree that Hyacinth Clare aka Mrs. Gibson is definitely an endearingly annoying character in the mould of Mrs. Bennet. She was a great comic relief in the story, and is one of the reasons I love W&D the most among all of Gaskell's works. ☺️
Justine Waddell as Molly Gibson is glorious. Rosamund Pike as Lady Harriet was so striking in each of her scenes. This is an amazing series.
Elizabeth Gaskell was a genius, that's for sure.
This is one of my favorite book to movie adaptations. Each character was so beautifully portrayed!
I love this series so much. The actress who plays Molly is so adorable.
She has also played Tess in Tess of the D'Urbervilles and Laura in The Woman in White.

2:32 - this scene of Molly in the rain -the way she looks, her voice, her sweetness - she's the most beautiful woman .
One of the best period dramas ever created. I loved it.
What a great montage! Thank you. I drug my wife around England to visit a few of the filming locations of this spectacular and underrated miniseries.

Best mv version of this show. Perfect having the monologues with this enchanting song !
Such a beautiful show. Amazing acting
A show I adore. Thanks for the video.
This has been 1 of my favorite stories for over 20 years and this video was beautifully done! Excellent job! 😉

Omg thank you for making a recent edit about them! they’re one of my favorite couples ❤️
This is lovely! W&D is such a good series, but so difficult to edit!!! Kudos!!! You made my day :3
This is so beautiful!
A wonder BBC series for TV with an exception cast too.
Why its not in Netflix it's brilliant
The actress is Justine Waddell.

So rare to see videos of this series. I really love your work. Would it be possible to tell me where you found the videos of the serie?
I still think a kiss between them should be in there, then it would be perfect.
I agree!
This is good, but the book is brilliant. Three quid on kindle, 3 days reading that took me out of myself.

I watch it over and over too. They will, but just not publicly. It would not be in keeping with Molly's character to do that.
But, anyways, how can someone look with so much love? They are wonderful actors, because this last scene was amazing.even without a kiss, we wait for it, though
Start to rewatching. By the way I like Serkan Bolat photo in your profile 💋💋💋
Donde puedo ver esta serie en castellano?
Yo también la quiero ver. Donde se puede encontrar ??

Hola.
Why didn't the director give them at least a kiss? WHY? WHY? WHY?????
Lol I think it's one of the hardest parts while re-reading the book. Always end up hoping it happens when watching, even though I know it won't... 😀
Do they kiss in the book?
Скажите как фильм называется?
Wives and Daughters, based on the Elizabeth Gaskell novel.
This is extraordinary I have no words
P.s is there any change you can be able to upload The movie on mega?
Piacerebbero sottotitoli in italiano per apprezzare la cultura Inglese....Sinceri ringraziamenti..
Что за фильм хотелось бы знать?
Que filme esse meu povo ??
Чё за фильм?
❤❤👌
❤️❤️❤️💯💯
They made Roger too handsome, and Osborne should have been slight and slightly effeminate. I'll stick with the book, which is a masterpiece.
